When did you get "the line"?

Does everyone get one... I can't remember having it with my son (10 yrs ago), almost 20 weeks now and no sign of it?

I got it at about 14 weeks I think. Im not exactly sure as it just appeared from nowhere! at first I thought my trousers had been digging into my stomach and left a mark!!

If you mean the line across your tummy not everyone gets that. This is my 4th pregnancy and I've never had it. I'm guessing if you don't have it by now then you'll probably not be getting it!!!!

I've got the line already, my book callled it linea negra, mine goes beyond my belly button and up to my boobs! My DH loves to make fun of it. LOL

Mine just goes from my belly button downwards. Ill have to check if its extended recently! I havent thought to check! x

Do you mean the linea nigra (the line that runs from navel to the pubic bone)? If so, I only just got mine this week. It makes a lovely addition to the stretch marks.

My book says an old wive's tale is that: if the line is from pubic area to belly button, it's a girl. if it goes past your belly button, it's a boy. All I know is mine is very obvious. LOL

Mine too although mine is just a line its not hairy which I believe can also happen (not sure if thats the same thing). I read that the line can be caused due to folic acid deficiency.

Well.....I am also having a lot of hair on my stomach. YUCK. Hope it's not due to a folic acid problem! I've been taking over 800 mcg every day. LOL

I don't have one at all, just a fluffy tum. I've heard it has something to do with your colouring, if you have more of an English rose complexion you're not likely to get it. If you're dark, you'll probably get a lovely dark line.

Same with nipples, my mum says some ladies get chocolate buttons, others stay strawberry. Made me giggle

Me too but thats what Ive read (although I never believe everything I read!!)

I don't have a line, but I now have a faint trail of hair in that area so that if you look at it from far away, it looks like a line. Hope the hairy trail doesn't stay... doesn't seem pleasant to have to wax your belly.

This is interesting ladies, hearing how you all differ. I don't have even the slightest hint of it... but funny because my nipples got way darker (i'm blonde and blue eyes so fairly light skin) I also didn't get stretch marks last time (went from 103 lbs to 162 lbs) Maybe I won't get the line or the stretch marks again this time. I do have very very hard to see blonde hairs on my belly and a few on my breasts....are these normal, the ones on my breast I can pull out without feeling a thing, it's like their not rooted? Sorry if tmi, I've had them for awhile and wondered what they are...

I have a very slight line - but it's really not that noticeable. My DH claims that I've always had a slight line (which I know I didn't lol)
