When did you get "the line"?

I don't have a line, but I now have a faint trail of hair in that area so that if you look at it from far away, it looks like a line. Hope the hairy trail doesn't stay... doesn't seem pleasant to have to wax your belly.

As long as you don't shave wax or pluck then it will go away I remember midwife telling me not to touch it with any form of hair removal with my first pregnancy. I've got lovely hairy belly again but never had the line

No line, but I'm very very fair - blonde, blue-eyed, ivory complexion. I somewhat doubt I will get one. My nipples got a lot bigger and slightly darker, but even then they're still kind of a pale rose-brown. My belly is rounded but I still feel like I just look fat and not preggo.

ive always had a light line from the belly button downwards but its got darker & now ive got one above my belly button too!

I noticed a faint line a week or so ago. It starts at about my waist line and goes down to my navel. It's a bit off-center and not very dark. I'm about a NC20 skin tone and I'd say it just looks like I have a faded scar there.

mine goes from my belly button to my waist. I don't know when it came, I looked and there was nothing and then the next time I looked there's this dark line! It looks so weird!

No line for me, no stretchies either, YET, just a lovely hairy belly- oh and I've got tanned olive skin, I noticed some ladies said you're more likey to get it if you're darker skin toned I'm 26 weeks so I'm guessing I won't get it

I'm fair skinned, so the line was showing from about 12wks.

Each week I'm starting to look like a warewolf, and it goes all the way to my bra

I also have the same hair at the bottom of my back, OH noticed it and decided to take pictures as it was 'really bad'.

I had the linea nigre when I was pregnant with my son. My line was only up to my belly button. Thats it. But now that I'm pregnant with #2, I have been surprised that I haven't had any sign of it developing yet. Last time it started around 20 weeks for me. So I guess I have another couple weeks wait!! lol!

The reason behind the linea nigre, is that as the uterus grows out into the abdomen and upwards...the stomach muscles need to spread, and slightly seperate to accomodate baby. Not all women will get it. But it's quite normal either way.

This is my first pregnancy and mine appeared, although very faint, at around 23 weeks. My belly button looks a little darker around the edges, but you have to reaaaaaallly want to see it!

My book says an old wive's tale is that: if the line is from pubic area to belly button, it's a girl. if it goes past your belly button, it's a boy. All I know is mine is very obvious. LOL

Mine is from my pubic bone all the way up to my ribs, I'm having a girl!

Does the excess hair usually appear at the same time as the linea nigra? Because all I have is a line on my skin. I hope this means I get to forego the hairy belly!
