Baby rice is marketed as 4-6 mths but that means nothing regarding when to wean, just means it contains nothing like gluten etc which they have to wait til after 6 mth for.
Izzy was just after 4 months, she was definitely ready for it then, I had planned to wait til 6mth so it was a very well thought over decision.

Eldest was 4 months, just because that was the norm for my peers, family etc. DD2 was just over 6 months, we did BLW and she seemed ready. I'd say there's no rush, if baby is happy without it, I'd wait until the recommended 6months.

I only voted for my youngest since he's my most recent and for that I put more than 6mo, we tried at 6mo but he wouldn't eat until 9mo

yeah i know but you know what i mean lol (its been a looonngg day :coffee:lol)
how did you know she was ready?, shaya holds her head up steady (im not gonna try till she is over 4months) i know you have to look out for 'chewing' actions, is there any thing else to keep you eye on???

Izzy started off like being on a growth spurt, having milk much more often and taking as much as she could, but still seeming like she wanted more, even waking in the night to get more milk. It went on for some, in fact she didn't really stop with the huge amount of milk til about 6 wks after I started her on food (as was only small amounts at first)
Other things to look out for are them actually trying to take food and eat it - not just watching and seeming interested as that is normal.
If Izzy was next to us when we ate she would try her best to grab what we had and would have eaten if I let her.
She also never had the gag reflex thing where they push things back out of their mouth, I remember one of the first things we gave her was a bit of ripe banana and she ate it fine.

I ticked 'more than 6m' because we offered at 6m, but she didn't eat til 7m.

Joe was 5 months and a few days. He was so ready...showed all the signs for a while, but i just wanted to wait until he's a bit closer to the magic 6 months.

I voted more than 6 months, because it was 6 months exactly, not before.

i gave jesse baby rice from about 8weeks he was taking 9oz bottles every 3 hours hes a big baby and i got doctors and HVs permission first,

We started at 5 months 1 week on doctor advice because of poor weight gain. In hindsight she would have been fine waiting until she was 6 months.

we started at 6 months as he was watching everything we ate! he was born a month earlier but we didn't take that into account.

We wanted to hold off till 6 months but on the advice of the HV we started at 5 and a half months.

I started weaning my youngest at 6 months but He wasn't interested so We tried again when He was 7 months and He was fine. :)

We started at 4 months on advice from specialist due to Poppy's abdo problems at birth (pyloric stenosis and damaged reflux valve). She took to it like a duck to water tho, no problems whatsoever xxx

I planned to wait until Jacob was 6 months but he wanted more, so he was about 5 and a half months when we started.

A little over five and a half months. I am doing BLW, and had been sitting her with us in a highchair during meals so one day I just gave her a bit just to see if she'd try it, she took to it like a pro so I figured why not?!

We started Jaden at 3 and a half months as he was having big issues with his milk. The midwife advised us to.

Kaitlynn was weaned at 6 months exactly. She was happy with her milk so didn't try any earlier.
