My wee one is now 8 weeks and i cant remeber when i go to 5 bottles instead of 6?

We always fed on demand, we never dropped feeds on purpose, it was all based on them, eventually they started taking more and going longer between feeds but it was on their own. I personally wouldn't drop anything until she is ready and does it on her own.

Same as above. I just started dropping when she started weening. Which was around 6 months.

we dropped from 6 to 5 when Brooke started sleeping through and i have a feeling we'll be dropping her mid morning feed soon as she's gradually wanting less and less milk at that time.

just play it by your LO and see how you go :)

Same as PP we dropped the feed when Liss started sleeping longer in the night. She decided when it was to happen. Same when we went from 5 to 4. It was all up to her :)

My LO only has 5 now, oops. 9am, 1pm, 5pm, and 9pm. Then whatever she wakes in night, has slept through 3 times so has only 4 bottles!!

I guess it depends too how much your LO has at each feed. Mine won't take more than 4oz without puking at this point, so we do more frequent smaller feeds.

At the moment i wake her every 4 hrs for a feed so should i not wake her and just let her sleep till she wakes then feed her???????????

We woke in the day time 4 hourly, and let her go for whatever at night. Now she sleeps little in the day so don't need to wake. Doing it this way let her decide when to drop the feeds. Both were dropped from the night. She did have her bottles around 9, 1, 5, 9 ,5 She first dropped the late pm one around 9/10pm then dropped the early am one. Now its roughly 7.30, 11.30, 3.30, 7.30 and she'll sleep through. As said above, we let her drop them, was completely her choice lol Love her she has been good! *touches wood*:)

i just feed on demand. I found in the first months of life they change so much that it is unpredictable. Alexander slept through fro 2 months straight and now wakes for a 130am feeding............

anyway....I think you should just follow what your LO wants and see. I think they will want more before they want less and once you introduce food they will begin to cut back on their own.

:hugs:

can i just ask how much ur little one has? my little man has started to go bed at 8.30 and wakes at 7.30am he was on 5oz 5 times a day but now he sleeps in longer it messes all his feeding times up, im trying him with 6oz today x

She has 8oz at each feed, shes a hungry one, so we had to start solids last week. She has slept right through from 14 weeks though :)

Meadow still has 6 bottles and she sleeps through. i just feed on demand theres not really set times yet.

luisa will have between 5 and 7 bottles a day but if she has 7 then its usually because 2 or 3 of them she didnt finish iykwim!

Megan is now taking 4 x 7oz bottles a day, for last month (8.00am, 12midday, 4pm and 8pm approx). She has been sleeping through from 8 wks. She dropped her night feed first, then we found it harder and harder to wake her for her 11pm feed so she dropped that next. Baby will let you know what they need as long as you look for their signs. :)

Dont wake her in the night... days are ok to wake them, because you want to encourage wakefullness and feeding in the day rather then the night...

I didnt wake at nite just the day.

I had to change my wee one to the hungry baby sma (blue one). She was sometimes drinking her bottle then 1.5 hrs -2 hrs screaming for more (espeically at night). She now takes a bottle every 3-5 hrs(if shes sleeping we just let her sleep until shes ready. We make 7 oz bottles and she drinks 4-7 oz just depending on how she feels. She far happier now and not screaming for the food
