When to hang stockings?

I've bought the boys these gorgeous knitted stockings this year and I'm desperate to hang them up but not sure if it's weird? Should we wait til Christmas Eve or just hang them as part of the decor?

We always hang our stockings when we put up the tree, and they just hang there empty until Christmas Eve and LO comes down Christmas morning and they're full.

Our are already hanging in the mantle as part of Christmas decor. They get stuffed on Christmas Eve.

Ours are hanging in the living room now, but on Christmas Eve we'll take them and hang them on our beds to be filled x

growing up we always did it Christmas eve before We went to bed.. Now I do it when I do the Christmas tree

Will be hanging ours up when I have got them off my mum. Poppy wants to hang her on her bed this year so will move it Christmas Eve.

I'm glad this is a thing and not me just being strange! Gonna buy some stocking hooks and hang them ASAP, can't wait!

I would have said Christmas Eve just to be part of the bedtime ritual along with putting out Santas milk and biscuits etc.

Hung them today and I'm chuffed with them, they look lovely hung up. Photo isn't great quality unfortunately, doesn't capture it properly?! But had to show them off anyway.
