So, As the title says--- I'm in need of an "end-date" my work has asked me to give them an exact date of when I'll be leaving.

Typically, I would just put in for maternity leave, but as DH and I are moving after I'm recovered from the birth, I can't go on Maternity leave and come back for a week before quitting.... well... I could... but that would be rude. :haha:

My doctor told me basically "barring complications, you can work until you feel like you can't anymore..."

I understand that.

The trouble is: WHEN will I feel like I can't anymore?

So, tell me, when was the last day of work for you? And if you didn't work... was there a point where you noticed simple tasks got drastically harder?

Go ahead and tell me if it was medical as well.....

I was told TODAY I'm supposed to name my day on Thursday... (They have to go through the application/hiring process and still have time for me to train them...)

I booked my maternity for 35+5 but I took 4 weeks annual leave first so I effectively went at 31+ weeks. I was really done-in by 31 weeks - but I did have loads of complications.

I wouldnt have said I ever got very big but I was very tired and had a lot of back pain and sciatica. I also didnt much care for the train/bus commute by that stage and being jostled about etc.
Depends on what work you do too... mine is a lot of standing/walking etc.

I was very glad to have some time to rest up. But I think everyone is different ....some are fine up till the due date and some are in bed from 2nd tri onwards.

I worked some magic at my job (balled my eyes out in human resources), and was able to work from home 100% at 24 weeks. I probably could have gone to the office a little longer but was so scared of pre term labor and knew that working from home was an option for the right situation (temporary disability). Since I was home 100%, I worked at my desk/computer right up until I gave birth at 36 weeks. At 24 weeks it was just starting to get hard to sit in the car for a long time and getting hard to walk up the small hill from the parking lot to my office.

If you can swing it financially, I say the sooner the better!! :)

My husband and I decided I was going to stop working at 26 weeks, but the babies had other plans (threats of pre-term labor) and I stopped working at 23 weeks. I am 30 tomorrow and truly believe being fortunate enough to be at home and rest a lot has gotten me this far!

I was put out of work at 32 weeks because my BP was starting to rise and I was starting to have traces of protein in my urine. I had the girls at 36 weeks, and I truly believe that I made it that long because my doctors put me out of work once it appeared the strain of the pregnancy was starting to impact my health.

i made it to 35+2 i actually had 2 days left of work before i was due off but the twins decided to come early.lol
I say if you can afford to the earlier the better.
I know for me after 30 weeks was a struggle just getting dressed in the morning was a chore and forget getting into my shoes lol i wore my slippers into work the last 2 weeks. once i got there it wasn't to bad i got more rest there than at home lol but the commute is what killed me.
now that i think back i don't now why i was being so stubborn and determined to make it to my end date. i am glad i did make it that far though it meant i got more time off after they came. my doctor never gave a date either. Health wise i had no complications just was very uncomfortable swollen tired cranky and in pain and just wanted to feel normal again.

I left at 30 weeks as I was in so much pain with rib flare and hip and groin pain but in hindsight think I could have gone a little longer but I had to give them a date at 25 weeks that I was leaving xx

I am 32 weeks and still working. I do work a desk job w/in the healthfield, so I sit a lot and can get up and move about whenever needed, but I am still working. My last day of work is the end of June, which will make me 35w3d. It would be nice to be at home relaxing, but I know that if I was at home, I would be cleaning and running around getting ready for the babies arrival, so better I be at work making money :-). My OB said work until "you no longer think you can do it." I think I can handle 3.5 more weeks before throwing in the towel. There are days where my back aches and my bump hurts, but nothing I can't make it through for a little while longer.

I worked til exactly 35 weeks, gave birth at 36+2. If I could, I'd go earlier but I really pushed myself cause I needed to save up on my vacation days.
