Which Camera would you get/ got one, sample pics on page 3 :)

Thanks ladies, anyone that has me on fb will know how much I am loving the D5100, it is amazing, I am totally in love lol

I have got a Canon SX240 HS and I think it is great, it has a good zoom(20 * optical) and lots of settings like manual shutter /aperture speed, on the other hand you can also keep it perfectly automatic and still get great pics.

the last two pictures were made from the same point of view(from the scoring table where I sat)( At different times though- by the time the last phot was shot it was overcast and had been raining :haha:. Some tests said it was slow but I can't agree with this sentiment. At least it is a lot faster than any other cameras I had. It focuses quite quickly too :)

Some samples of pics I have taken :) All indoors ones as the weather has been so crap I havent had a chance to get out :( These have been taken on different settings and effects, but none has been edited yet

Fab pics

Thanks ladies, I am hoping to get some out door ones tomorrow :)

Took some outdoor photos yesterday and they were crap lol, I assumed that the camera was on auto (I just wanted to grab a few quickies) and just clicked away, it wasnt until I got home last night and realised how bad the photos were that I checked and saw that is was on blossom or something, so it was focusing on the scenery and the kids are a bit blurry :-/ Will post a few in a bit so you can see what I mean :)

Have you played with the manual focus point button? I can't remember how it works with Nikon.. on canon, you push the shutter half way and a red light appears on the screen where it's focused... so I point the camera at what I want in focus, get the red light and move the camera to get the composition I want whilst keeping it on the same focal distance (all while still pressing the shutter halfway)

I've got my niece's 1st birthday party today.. I'm contemplating taking my camera. If I do, I'll post the results :)

Yeah I do this  I know I am blaming the camera for the crap pics but it was most likely my fault  I was only trying to get a few quickies so didnt pay much attention to what I was doing :dohh:

Cant wait to see some pics :flower:

a few outdoor pics from yesterday, you will see what I mean about the subject of the photo being fuzzy and the background being clearer :dohh:

They're not as bad as you made them out to be!

I took more photos than I thought I would. You can see them in my journal at the end of this post: https://babyandbump.momtastic.com/w...fore-we-do-weve-set-date-39.html#post19691239 :)

They are fantastic pics, I think I really need to start learning more about my camera and stop using AUTO lol

Thank you! Aperture priority (the 'A') is a good option to take after AUTO :D
