who can go MOST overdue?!

8 days overdue today and had midwife appointment this morning - baby is only 1/5th engaged still so she didn't want to do a sweep but I am now booked for a scan and then 'priming' on Monday 16th (i.e. the gel).

It seems that the sweep did do something, but not something 100% effective. Since my sweep on Tuesday, I've lost teeny, teeny tiny amounts of plug and had quite a few BH but nothing else. Maybe things will progress before next Thursday when I'm induced.

41+3 today, had loads of BHs and lost loads of my plug since my sweep on tuesday but ... nothing! Resigned myself to being induced on Sunday now. I'm okay with that. I'm just done with being pregnant now!

I read in another thread the other day that you can lose up to 4 inches of your plug. I didn't know this as I've only lost small bits since 28 weeks. My friend only lost a small amount the size of her pinky fingernail. So needless to say, when I saw a huge slug on the paper, I was shocked but not surprised. lol

Maybe you just experienced what my friend did, a really small amount?



Time for me to double check the hospital bag and make sure that we have everything that we need!

With my first it came out all in one go and I swear it was the size of a dinner plate! Loads of jelly With the others it's come out like this time, in bits and bobs.

I've been getting loads of contractions again tonight. God knows what's going on Good luck if it's your turn tonight!

I hope that labour starts up for you soon. I'm only a week behind you, but I also had my sweep on Tuesday and I've had tons of BH and lost my plug. Shame losing your plug isn't an instant sign that labour is going to start.

I'm kinda hoping that being this excited will cause contractions to start. I went into false labour at 28 weeks because I was excited to camping. I was bouncing off the walls for the 4 hour road trip and helping set everything up.

Maybe you should plan something for tomorrow night, something that you haven't done in a while but really want to do. I'm sure labour will start up then and you'll miss out.

No news... I did end up losing a hell of a lot more plug than originally thought. It's still coming out in huge slug like formations when I wipe. TMI I know, sorry. A few pelvic and period type pains but that's about it. No waters, show or contractions.

I did go swimming last night in my friend's pool since my show or waters didn't make their presence. It felt great, but I guess all the bobbing up and down in the water didn't agree with me. I've been dizzy and nauseous since. The good news is that the swimming tired me out and I slept for 10 hours, catching up on all that sleep I missed out on this week!

Deli, did you make any plans for tonight to get you all excited? I hope you did. How else will LO come out before your induction? lol. You just know that as soon as you plan something that you really want to do that LO will make their appearance. At least it's not too much longer until you're induced. Just think, soon you'll be a mommy with a brand new baby in your arms and no more big belly!

No, I'm not doing anything tonight. It's been raining all day and I've been stuck at home with all the kids. I haven't got the energy to do anything.

I had a HUGE meltdown this morning - I'm talking full on hysterical crying fit. I had a row with my husband cos he keeps asking me if I think "something's happening or not"! I don't freaking know do I! I cried for two hours straight hunched over the bathroom sink. The kids took it in turns to come up and check on me (husband had stormed out to work but I did later get an apologetic email from him). I think it's a combinationg of things - frustration, fear of having to give birth again.

Anyone heard from hollywoodmum? Think she must have had her baby by now?

Oh and feeling dizzy and nauseous are good signs from my past experience. You might be going in to labour sooner than you think ....

I hope she has had her baby by now. Things were progressing for her the other day. I hope she didn't have to have a c-section if she didn't want one (can't remember if she did or not).

At least he apologized. Just tell your hubby what I've been telling my family... "Don't keep asking me if things are starting. I will let you know if things are progressing or not. I don't need constant emails, texts and phone calls to stress me out. If something happens, you will know asap." Since I told everyone that, I haven't gotten any questions about how I'm doing. Although, since I told OH last night that I lost my plug, every time I touch my bump, he looks over at me in concern. Kinda funny actually.

*edit* I hope so! I thought they were there because I haven't been sleeping much lately and swimming wore me right out! But I woke up feeling a little dizzy today, so maybe not.

So here we are another day, how's everyone feeling today?

Had my sweep yesterday at midday, had some bloody discharge straight away which mw said was the start of a show, had loads more yesterday evening (was more bloody than I was expecting!) and have been having irregular pains since about 10pm. Keep feeling shivery as well... Am trying not to get my hopes up though, have another sweep booked for Monday, if that doesn't work then it's induction Tuesday.

Come on baby!!!

I have been induced with all of mine - they've all been 2 weeks late so why on earth did I think this time would be any different haha!

I'm quite relaxed about it now (had a huge meltdown and cried for two hours yesterday) but not looking forward to the pushing stage, as I hate that part

How did you find the induction? I think I just have visions of it taking days! I'm hoping that if it comes to that then either the pessary or breaking my waters will be enough and I will be able to avoid the oxytocin. The mw said they would be able to break my waters because I am already dilated enough, so I guess at least there are options!

I have only ever needed one dose of gel then had my waters broken. I have nothing to compare it to cos I've never gone in to labour naturally though, sorry!!
