I want to ask them for a sweep at my next appointment on monday. I have been wondering if they do them in the US because I've never heard of them until I came to this site. But omg you went into labor a couple hours after?? I REALLY want one now!!!

How are you doing with the new baby hun!!?? How is everything? He is sooo adorable!!

I'm 11 days overdue now and my first sweep doesn't appear to have done anything! I'm beginning to think that baby won't ever come out

Holy crap hun. I hope your baby comes out soon. Im now 4 days overdue and gone absolutely bonkers. I am so done. I can't imagine going another 7 days!!

Awww pipsqueek - i feel for you i really do. Im only 5 days over and its bloody killing me - im so hating every minute of it.

I have everything crossed for you that it will kick in for you asap. Have you had any changes since the sweep at all? Try within 24hrs of the sweep, the hormones in semen is said to be good for kick starting labour.

Well im now 7 days overdue . This no fun any more lol i cant wait to me my LO and see what she looks like!! Got a midwife app tmr so hopefully fingers crossed she will do a sweep!! But she said at ten days over they send you hospital for checks an then you can decide to be induced or not. I would do anythinh to get her out now im soooo sore!! Xx

Me too hun, im now 6 days over and having my 3rd sweep in just under 2 hours;;;not holding my breath any more. Think i've just about given up hope of any labour spontaneously happening now which is a sod coz im booked for a homebirth and i dont think im gunna get it now

Feeling a little robbed at the moment and probably a bit sorry for myself.

Best i've had is 2 seperate days of painful ?contractions? that led to nothing and since my 1st sweep last friday at 40w i have been losing bits of plug on a regular basis.

Here's to the 3rd sweep - and probably its failure too.

Well ladies, rather than being miserable about our LOs not arriving when we expected or hoped for, I thought we could make it a challenge!!
I'm due today, and booked for induction this day fortnight, although DH is now encouraging me to consider going beyond that and waiting for my body to be ready... (DD was induced at 12 days over) The hospital will let you so long as you are monitored twice weekly and obviously if no problems show up... At the moment I'm feeling pretty good really (physically and emotionally) but I'm not sure how I'll feel in 10 days time (twice weekly monitoring starts at T+10), so I don't know if I'd really let myself get to 17 days or something... Heck I don't even know if my body CAN go in to labour!


So, who's with me!? Who on here is most overdue already?! Who can hold out the longest!!

Just a thought so you can keep track, why not have a list on the front page of how late people where when they had their baby?

Mumof1+1, I'm very similar to you in that I've had 2 separate painful days and then today I've had a relatively ok day! Lost tons of mucus and today I've had 2 massive globules of the stuff!!
How did you manage 3 sweeps. I'm term+8 and here they only do them on term+6 and term+10 then discuss induction... Think I will get to my 2nd sweep on saturday...

I had 1 at 40w, 1 at 40+3 and 1 today at 40+6, will be having another on monday too, will be 41+3. I was shocked they let me have 1 at 40w to be honest but if it helps me now i'll be shocked

I haven't had anything change whatsoever after the first sweep. Midwife said my cervix was posterior, long and she could only get a fingertip in

I'm due the second one tomorrow but don't hold out much hope. I'm seeing the obstetrician on Sat as i'll be 42 weeks then and they automatically refer you. No doubt they will suggest induction. I really didn't want to be induced but it looks very likely now. 12 days overdue and not one single sign that bubs is on his way. I haven't even seen any increase in discharge! Sorry if TMI...

Hope the next sweep works some magic, i've had 3 now and all i seem to get is more mucus coming away

Posterior cervix means nothing, mine went from posterior to anterior in 3 days. Is it your first baby? Reason i ask is my mw says a first is like a man - does things 1 at a time bit by bit and 2+ is a woman - multi-tasks and does allsorts at once i found it hilarious at the time!!!!!
