Hey girls,

That's me just back from sweep number 2. The M I had today seemed to know what she was doing so fingers crossed it'll get something going. Still loosing loads of plug, was up all last night contracting and was really really sick, am sooooo fed up but somehow I'm managing to hold it together.

Got another sweep booked for Saturday (in for a penny in for a pound) before induction on Monday. Am really scared about that as the hospital I have to go to is an hour and a half away from home as opposed to the one I want to use which is 2 mins down the road. There is no way I'm being left there on my own, I want hubby to stay with me right thorugh, surely they won't send him and hour and a half away home?????? Gonna have to stop thinking about it or I'll end up in tears. I'll cross that bridge if and when we get to it.

Sorry to hear you girls are fed up today, I really hope these babies get their butts into gear and get shifting!!!! xx

Kind of what I thought too hun, have another sweep booked for Monday which will be my fourth!!!

Wannabemamma - Hope you are feeling a little bit happier? Its so stressful being overdue. I am extremely swollen too and right now as I seem to have overdone it today I am very achey! Going to eat and have a bath, I hope I can be positive tomo. Think the hormones are driving me nuts, am so up and down!

Good luck with the sweeps ladies!!! Hope they get things moving. My due date is tomorrow so I'll more than likely be in the overdue club in no time!!!
I think it's really sad they make your husbands leave while you're in labour! It can't be easy labouring on your own. Here (well at my hospital anyway), there are visiting hours but for a maternity patients the husbands/partners are exempt and can stay all night. I don't think I could do it alone!!!

Melissa, if you're in active labour (ie gone beyond 4cm, and on labour ward or MW unit) they can stay with you, but if you're on induction ward etc then no they have to go home at night, but not til about 11pm in my experience, think it's cos it's a ward with other mums not a room iykwim?

just hijacking quickly to let you ladies know that Hayley (vampmum) had her baby this afternoon think she was 6 days overdue and the labour was very short.

Well i got my sweep, right after a speculum exam - holly sh*t that hurt. She said babies head was really low but my cervix was really high??? huh? Anyone know what this means? She didn't mention dilation or effacement so i'm guessing i have no movement on either. So it doesn't sound like it will do anything. Not been offered any more sweeps and have been booked in for induction on the 12th but at tea time! So i go in at 6ish and get my gel and then they check me in the morning? What a waste of time, don't see why i can't go home rather than spend a night on the ward alone. So over this pregnancy lark now. It's my 30th birthday tomorrow and i couldn't feel more miserable about it.

If you go by my 12w scan date I'm 10 days today. I think there might be someone who's at 12 though, but not sure.

Catlady - thanks for the info. Sadly no they still send hubby home at 8, only 2 hours after i go in and will only call him back if i go into active labour before morning. grr.

i am now 4 days overdue. back pain is killing me! think i am going to beg my midwife on monday to get me induced asap. i wanted a waterbirth but i've got to the stage i just want him out! x

Am still here, had a few awful cramps overnight, had a terrible nights sleep and woke up this morning feeling really sick and headachey! Have had an awful pressure in my tummy and i feel really sore!
Still trying to think positive!

Holywoodmum - its rubbish isnt it, I feel so thoroughly exhausted and yet, when I go to bed I can not sleep!! We will all get there!
Samface - I did the same with my mw, I am really swollen, have puppps, have carpal tunnel, pgp, not allowed to drive as bubs keeps sitting on my nerves and causing my legs to go numb and they still wont induce me. The best they did for me was a sweep on my due date and I am being induced on day11 rather than day12. But I hope you have more luck than I did!! I know how you feel, luckily my dh is off of work, I think I would have been driven nuts if he wasnt around to cheer me up!
