I always feel so embarrassed buying HPTs in the supermarket, even though I have nothing to be embarrassed for. This afternoon my fears were realised. I only needed a few bits so had my toddler balanced on one arm and was trying to discretely hide the test (in its massive plastic security box) under my other items. First I bump into a girl I teach (am a secondary school teacher). Just praying that she didnt notice it. Then the woman on the till had to struggle for ages to remove the security box while I stood there convinced everyone was staring at me. When she finally released it, my toddler gave out an almighty cheer and started clapping! She then had the cheek to ask me whether I was hoping it would be positive or not!!!! I totally understand why they put the security boxes on those tests - I would be tempted to steal one just to spare myself the public humiliation of going through that again
