working 16 hours?!

Not sure if I have the right section but if I work 16 hours will I get tax and N.I took off?

Tax and NI is done on how much you earn, not how many hours you do. Pretty sure you pay NI either way but not sure that one always confuses me, but you start paying tax back after earning £9400 ish in the tax year. It's tax credits where 16 hours is the magic number for qualifying for working tax credits.

It depends how much you earn and what your tax code is my partner works 16 hours a week and I don't think he gets taxed yet, but we don't qualify for working tax credits either.

I work 16 hours and I don't pay tax or N.I, but as the above ladies said it will depend on how much you earn x
