Would this have stopped you becoming pregnant. UK shock tatics(graphic video)

Yes i know what you mean. Its good that times are moving on slowly just hope it continues. I personally think there are alot worse things that could bring shame on a family then getting pregnant as a teen

I do to, but some are closed minded and live in small towns. It was enough to stop me from getting pregnant and I was active as a teen. Didnt stop a lot of my friends as it was the thing to do for them when they where leaving school anyway.

Well exactly. Its like the fact age doesnt define the parent you are. You could be a parent whenever and still do a good or bad jub.
It just scary the things they were put though as a consiquence it def would have put me off too.
I hate to think about people who actually wanted to have babies young over their

I dont think that video would have stopped me getting pregnant when I did, maybe when I was 14 or something..but it looks so fake tbh!!

I had a virtual baby, and it was a NIGHTMARE!!! The first night it was up 22 times crying, about 14 of those for a feed! my mum said babies are NOT that bad!! Lol. x

I agree , I see teen mums that are excellent mums and ones my ages and older being wreak less, so its nothing to do with age. It was only certain parts though, like remote Ireland not where I was or my great gran and nan who where teen mums would have been shipped off to.

I fell pregnant at 16 but i left school at 15 but it wouldn't of bothered me atall.
I thought it was a fight to start of with lol.xx

Seeing that wouldn't have had any effect on when I decided to start having sex, I think the idea of having a teenage mum in to talk to classes at school would be a much better idea. I had one of those virtual babies, it just cried every half hour & drove me mental lol. I was half awake trying to put the keys into the back of it & accidentally (genuinely an accident lol) put the panic key in, so it didn't cry for the rest of the night.. but I got into trouble at school because the tamper light came on :haha: x

I don't really find it funny as I suppose it is trying to get a serious message across that teen pregnancy/parenting can be very hard. Although a weird way of putting it across

Sophie  My virtual baby ALWAYS cried
xx

I think the girl giving birth wasn't convincing she just screamed.. Like she was being chased or something... I put it down to bad acting I think it could be more effective if she was seeming to be in pain.. And not just histerical but maybe that's just me.

My school did but I found the virtual baby was nothing like a real baby

For example my virtual baby cried ALL the time half an hour breaks maybe. Now Aidan was nothing like that he slept loads.

They sort of didn't talk about teen pregnancy that much and when they did they made it seem like our lives would be over. Which I have found out to be complety untrue

I think a real teen mum talking to students and giving her experiance would be a good idea. May follow her from first finding out she was pregnant until birth.Like a video diary sort of thing.

I don't know
xx
When I was 15 I tried getting pregnant. My mum found out and I ended out seeing some woman in the "Linc" department in school. She was basically a mentor. Me and a few other girls had a "meeting" with 3 young mums. To be honest they just made me jealous and made me want a baby even more. My mentor did manage to convince me not to get pregnant though. Her words of advice didn't last long though as I got pregnant at 17. The main concern at the time was my ex though. He wasn't very nice. But at the time I thought I loved him and thought I was happy. I was depressed, anorexic and he played stupid mind games with me.

I thought it was going to be a fight...rather funny though!
I was expecting a fight, but couldn't figure out what a fight had to do with stopping teens having sex.

That wouldn't have stopped me from having sex. Every one knows labour is painful. You get told that long before you consider having sex. Seeing someone in pain won't have any effect. In fact it would probably just make people shout "Someones having a baby.." if there was a fight in the next few days after seeing the video.

oh yeah, I'm not saying it would have stopped me... I'm just saying it could have made the video less fake.. She just wasn't believable to me atall.. Like she was just screaming again and again with alot of power.. Don't you let out more of a huge groaning scream? I know what I mean but I don't know how to explain myself :dohh: but do you get what I mean though? The video was bad but her 'labour' just made it a whole lot worse :haha:

I was quite through most of my labour. I had a lot of epidural and a ventouse delivery and hardly felt Liam coming out, so didn't make any noise.
They should show A REAL LIFE scary birth! If I'd seen my birth beforehand I might have though twice.
Liam was back to back and I was in agony! I pushed, but nothing happened, they used ventouse to get him out, which was followed by him taking a moment to start breathing and me having a huge bleed. I have 3 blood transfusion and an overnight catheter (Liam was born at 16:04 and the catheter was removed the next day at about 10am.)
But saying that I'm TTC number 2, so even my traumatic birth hasn't caused me much trauma!

I just think it pretty silly  Totally unrealistic

I agree a real birth video of someone with labour complications etc would be more effective. At the end of the day though people will start having sex when they want, trying to scare them wont make them think twice about labour. How many teenagers 'just didnt think it would happen to them'?? I think better education would be much more effective at stopping teenagers getting pregnant, they might still be having sex but at least they would be educated enough to know how easy it can be to get pregnant.

In school we saw the labour and birth on video as part of the curriculum. Seeing labour has never really bothered me.

I do think the video has it's place and that it would certainly aid towards the encouragement of safe sex. I mean, seriously, it's not gonna stop - just be sensible about it and everything will be fine

I think however much you want a baby when your younger, you really can't grasp it until you actually are pregnant - and that for me took a long time to accept.

I just wanted to say I think it's brave of you to admit that and I respect you for doing so. I think there are plenty of girls who would have at least thought about getting pregnant on purpose at that age, but wouldn't admit it to anyone. I remember I had a pregnancy scare when I was 15/16, and it was awful. My bf at the time said that if I was pregnant I would have to have an 'A', or he would kill himself. I don't think he was joking either. Luckily for both of us at the time it was a false alarm.

As for the video, it seems unrealistic. Surely there'd be a teacher called over who'd remove all of the students, someone medically trained would have been called to the scene... something. Girls round here get sent to a young mother's unit to finish their studies if they can't finish them in school. I'm not sure, but I think they'll only let you continue until you're a certain amount of weeks pregnant.

And how does the other teenager know how to deliver a baby? :dohh: xx

I saw real labour videos in sex ed at school and stuff and it never put me off.
