If there is nothing else to drink, like we're out in the middle of nowhere, he's drunk all his drink, and he's still thirsty, then yes I have been known to give mojo a bit of my diet coke. But I'd only give it to him if there's no alternative. Madeleine on the other hand hates fizzy drinks, always has done so its not been an issue.
No because we don't buy it. I don't drink fizzy drinks so would never offer it to my kids. My husband has let it touch their lips if they've seen him drinking it and are screaming for some! But I'm not comfortable with them drinking any, just how I feel. When they get to about 5 years old though I may let them have a small cup at a party or something. But by that time I think they just won't enjoy it as they've not had it much so will prefer water or juice.
Even my 7yr old isn't allowed fizzy drinks, she's had a sip of mine but i don't think its good for her to drink it imho!
Nut_Shake, that worked for my LO, she's never had it so doesn't ask for it at all now, she asks for the odd sip but wouldn't drink a cup of it, she prefers juice! It works! x
No, I don't drink the rubbish myself so I definetly would never give it to my girls. I, not a health freak they get treats but that stuff is full of some awful stuff x
I drink Diet Coke like it's going out of fashion, I know it's awful for me but sometimes it's the only thing I can get down without feeling like the world is a trigger. But Id on't let Niamh have it, ever.
If we're out she has fruit jiuce or diluting. She doesn't even bother to ask now. She likes what she gets.
If someone wants to give their child it, I don't really care. There re much worse things in the world they could be doing.
Under 2? No. Over two? Probably. I think there are worse things in the world you can do with your child, but I won't say here for fear of being jumped on
Only person that drinks dizzy in the house is their dad and they arnt allowed any of it. I know Wlliams tasted a fizzy water I got on occasion thats all. I dont even like aspertum filled drinks either so its dilute and its proper sugar in there or just water. Or pure orange.
Evie has it as a treat if we're out, not even weekly maybe every couple of weeks, and we have let Alfie have a tiny bit in the bottom of a cup to taste when he paddied because he was feeling left out! We don't really drink it on the whole though, its mainly cordial, water or pure orange/apple juice in our house.
My eldest has but i don't think my youngest has - couldn't 100% say she hadn't though.
We don't have fizzy drinks in the house except for at christmas when we have a few alcoholic drinks in that require mixers. We will allow our two fizzy on special occasions - so at family parties they will be allowed a little glass of it.
We also went on holiday a couple of years ago when Daniel was just over 3years and we were all inclusive. The country we were staying in has water than is not good to drink and the only soft drinks on offer at lunch and dinner were fizzy. We took the decision that we would allow Daniel to drink the fizzy and we told him he could only have it because we were on holiday. He was really good about it and when we got back home he didn't ask us for fizzy at all.
As others have said - a little fizzy on occasion isn't going to harm them.
