We went to a BBQ and i had soo many unwanted comments that really irritated me . . .

everyone asked me DOES HE SLEEP THROUGH?? why do people always ask this?? the answer is no he doesnt but thats okay!

ohh hes 11 months and doesnt sleep through?

Then someone said cant he have a burger??

i said no because id be worried about him choking on it.

she said Oh well "R" was eating everythin at 11 months!!

Then it got on to walking . . .

Is he walking yet?

the answer is no hes not,

Is he pulling himself up and walking around tables??

No sometimes he pulls himself up by holding on to my arms and thats it,he commando crawls still

Then a couple of women starting mutering that there grandson was 9 months and walking around, how oscars just like a little baby still

They dont even know me or him why do people do this? :nope:

should he be doing more??

Every baby is different, he sounds perfectly "normal"... Try to ignore them, you know your own son best.

I think he sounds perfectly fine!

As Ew68j5 said, you know your son best! You know what is right and wrong for him :)

All babies grow at different rates, ignore them!!! :hugs:

I'm so sure they didn't mean it in a nasty way but were very tactless saying what they did. Yes some babies do walk at 9 months and some at 15 months and maybe some even later. Doesn't mean anything. Ok so their children ate burgers when they were 3 months, does that mean they are going to oxford uni? NO. And I can't help thinking people have fuzzy memories of the past and are looking at it through rose tinted glasses.

Ooh i hate this comparing rubbish, you enter, when you have a baby  People just dont think do they! If they did we would have such a better world.Dont take no notice hun,my LO was crawling at 6 months and standing the week after, then not long after that cruising and people were always saying "it wont be long till he is walking" and i used to think,i dont wont that pressure on him,he will do it when he is ready  well he is still not walking and a lot of the babies in his group have caught him up and some have passed him and are walking! Babies will do whatever they do in their own time. xxx

I'm sure they didn't mean to upset you with the comments. They were probably trying to be nice as everyone knows mummies love talking about their babies.

Seriously don't worry about development. all babies do things at different stages. Your LO may not be able to walk, but he probably has stronger fine motor skills than the young walkers. My LO crawls, climbs and cruises, but doesn't have a clue about shape sorters etc. Some of his friends (also 11 months) sit there for ages stacking rings and putting shapes in sorters. Each to their own.

tell them to sod off lyd!!!!!!!!! aiden only walked at 15 months!! and still chokes .... idiots xxxx

My 10month old has no finger foods at all only mashed with soft peices!he can't even handle baby biscuits yet!and he doesnt sleep through all the time either.but I don't think those questions would bother me unless said rudely or presumptuous to me being a bad parent.I have said no a million times to ppl giving koby hot chips/fries..lol

Make the most of it!! Think how many grown up years there are compared to baby years, i'd far rather have my lil baby for a bit longer!!

But he is a baby thou :dohh:

Some people don't know when to keep their mouths shut.

:hugs:
