Young IVF'ers....

Just wondering if there was anyone else in their early 20's about...

I am getting referred for IVF in June (if I have gotten my BMI below 30 which I am sooooo gonna do if it kills me).

Just be nice to chat to someone of a similar age going through the same stuff?

I have bilateral tubal occlusion (both my tubes are buggered).

We are blessed with the fact that my OH is fine and dandy though.

We have been put on the waiting list for ICSI and just very excited (and impatient) to start now.

Hello Mrs Brooks, I see your not too far from me either in cheshire, how long is the waiting list? Do they have to adhere to the same 18 weeks that the NHS use?

Ha! Such a small world!!

We were told currently it is 4-6months for Liverpool, so that kind of ties in with the 18 weeks. But that is depending on funding, at the moment we would get 2 free cycles. Our Dr. seemed to think that if there is a strong chance of them pulling funding, he said if they don't cut it all together then it will go down to 1 free cycle.

Just have to wait to find out now. Finger crossed for us all

Thank you, I don't have a clue how many cycles we get funded, what I can read on the internet it is 3 but I need to call my PCT and ask really.

I don't mind waiting, it will be all worth it in the end.

iv got pcos ad hubby has got 2% morph but he has sopped drinking and is goin for anoter sa next week to c if it improves x

My OH's are all fine, his morphology is a little under average but still fine.

Hey, me and my OH were told today that we will need IVF and possibly ICSI by my gyno. I'm currently waiting a referral to a fertility specialist. Gonna be a long road tho as we have to save the 10k it will cost us for IVF. I'm 24 and my OH is 33. My OH has a low count and low motility.

Hi ladies mind if I join u.

I'm 25 now but was 23 when I had my first ivf at LWH.

I'm now due to start again next month some time.

My first cycle didn't go a smooth as we expected but we did get a BFP.( little girl now 8 months old)
second go useing frozen embryos was again BFP but sadly MC 3 weeks ago so I'll be starting a fresh cycle but I've been told that it will be a short cycle this time as I ended up with 32 eggs last time which led to haveing to stop everything for 3 months which was a bit of a headache.

Oh by the way I'm in cheshire so not too far away from u lovely ladies. :0).

I'll be having my ivf in Norfolk bourn hall clinic in summer 2012 so I'll be 23 so fxd it works

Hi girlies, I haven't been on this in months so my tickers and everything are prob wrong.
I am 24 and my OH is 43. We've been together for nearly 6 & 1/2 years and engaged for 4.
My partner had a vasectomy after his youngest daughter was born 16 years ago but had it reversed 2 and a half years ago and we started trying. Nothing happened for 2 years so went and seen the G.P who referred us to the Regional Fertility Centre in Belfast, Northern Ireland. We were told on our first visit in Aug 2010 that we were eligeable for 1 'free' course of IVF on the NHS. My OH had a biopsy of his sperm taken in Dec 2010 (they froze his scrotum and passed a needle into this testicle for a sample) and he's full of brilliant sperm
The problem is that his tubes are damaged due to the vasectomy and the reversal so the sperm are dead by the time they get out.
Had another appointment last Tues and we have got the go ahead to start treatment. We have been placed on the waiting list and should be our turn in 9-10months

As far as we know i'm ok. I dont drink or smoke. My BMI at the mom is 33 so need to get that below 30 and my partner has already stopped smoking

we've been together or 4 and a half years properly ttc for 1 and a half years
iv got pcos and hubby had a sa done last year and all was okapart from morph which was just 2% so he is bak next week for another and he is doing this one in the clinic
I'm on clomid ATM til sept and then it's au natural til ivf next July ish my bmi is just over 30 x

Hi girls first off I wanted to say good luck to you all .

I'm 25, DH is 32 started ttc in Nov 2004,as far as we know all ok with me Hubby has azoospermia, we had our first IVF/ICSI in 2008 (private) unfortunatly it was BFN, we had our second cycle in 2009 (NHS) it was BFP but I mc at 4+6 planning round 3 in Aug(private)
