2 lh surges?

thanks so much, i was counting from my first +opk cause i was so certain that i o (without charting) but now i'll just count from my 2nd surge instead.

i've signed up with ff and going to start from cd1, i've done this for a few months last year and my charts look sooo dodgy but i'll give it another go!

Yeah, usually you should go by your second surge if you have gotten bfns and are getting fertile signs the time of the second surge because a lot of the time your body can try to ov but fail. This even happens with some women with regular cycles! Were you temping at the same time every morning as soon as you wake up (before getting up or speaking) with a BBT? Maybe vaginal temping will be more accurate for you xx

i was temping every morning before i got myself out of bed and yes i was using a bbt. i would place it under my tongue as far back as i could, so after the crazy looking charts i just gave up!

can you use a bbt for vaginal temping? (i forget what brand but it's comes in purple packaging i think?) a few years ago i would have cringed at the thought but these days there's always something going in or out of it so there's no difference for one more lol.

Yes it can be used vaginally. Is yours the CVS brand? Mines purple and IDK of any other BBT thats purple off the top of my head. I'd start temping again. It may have been something like waking up cold/hot/etc but sometimes erratic temps can mean something hormonal. I'd try it vaginally and see how it goes! Vaginal temps are higher than oral so you have to start right after AF and can't switch to oral in the middle of it. This is TMI, but I found that it works best sticking it in about 1/2 way to 2/3 (the part you stick under your mouth of course), and try to put it in the same depth each day as it will give you a more accurate reading xx

I had two surges last cycle and am on my 2nd this cycle. I got a positive digi opk today and hope this is it. I hear it's not uncommon and better to have two with a strong ovulation than waste a whole cycle on an egg that isn't as good.

thanks taylorxx i will give that a try next month hoping this will give me more accurate temps! i do also have the cvs brand - i only told you the color of the box and you knew the brand *very impressed*

I agree with taylorxx on vaginal being more accurate than oral. Oral temp can very depending on room temp, how you're breathing, if you're talking in your sleep, etc. Vaginal is definitely more accurate.

Oh, and getting back to the root of the thread- there have been months where I had 4 or 5 LH surges before I actually O'd. I gave up on OPK's! Those things are more stressful than helpful!

as i've been lurking threads it seems that the bbt method seems the most accurate with ovulation?

pinksprinkles - were you also temping as well as opks when you had 5 surges?? that must have been surprising. this month it has caused more stress than being helpful lol, although the whole experience has convinced me that temping again might be a better option for next cycle! when you say you gave up did you mean you've actually stopped using them altogether?

hi my name is Renae, myself and my husaband have been ttc for 2yrs, im currently on letrozole(femara) and ovidrol(trigger shot) and have had no luck, i normally use the support group on med help, im doing my first IUI next cycle kinda nervous, but the reason i saw your name was cause i was looking up LH surges and noticed u were on there, im on cd 11 and just had a major LH surge like the line was soooo dark, normally i dont ovulate till like cd 14 so im thinking im going to have 2 surges as i difd last month, im just looking for friends that we can support each other, sincerly Renae
