2010 Gardening Club :D

 PP theyre so funny when they think theyre helping but theyre not really!

I've not done anymore but i hope it doesnt rain tomorrow cos Ive roped in MIL and FIL to come over and help us dig up all these stones!

Did you manage to get more done today Blah?

Well .. we repaired out fence, one of the panels had fallen down and the people before, well, just made some bode job of a fence ive never seen anything like it!! OH has repaired it as best as he can but its going to need a whole new fence down one side of the garden at some point!! :(

Did a few more bits and bobs out there today, dont want to do too much because it'll get ruined when they come and do this concrete. Had to borrow an extension lead to cut the grass bottom of the garden, i didnt think it was that big but OH reckons its 25 - 30 metres

Oh and i got bloody sunburn on my shoulders, i did my front and my arms with lotion this morning but forgot my shoulder :dohh:

Well I haven't done anymore gardening as I have been away for the weekend, but the tomatoe seeds I planted on Monday are about 1.5 inches tall now, so going to move them to a window soon, getting them ready for going outside! Probably about Tuesday or Wednesday I plan on planting my peas.

Some of my new flowers from last weekend got really sunburnt and feeling very sorry for themselves where I havent been here to keep an eye on them, hoping with some shade and water they will revive abit!

No PP, it was peeing down with rain :( I've not done anymore and wont be able to this weekend cos I'm off out. Maybe I'll squeeze some in on Sat morning.

Hey guys, I have a HUGE garden to get sorted, just moved house, and the previous owners didn't do anything in it at all, we're doing the patio this weekend, and then we gotter do a back garden that is MAHOOSIVE!! and a little front garden too!

Bumping now that the nicer weather is back! So glad I didn't plant any bedding plants cos it was snowing here last week

was out yesterday and we've managed to move all the stones and lay the bark down. I have a huge pile of rocks and dirt to sift through :( ugh. I'm off work all this week and nothing planned today cept going to pick amelie up from nursery at half 1ish so I'm going to do the weeding in my front garden and get rid of the weeds from inbetween the slabs.
I've also seen a gorgeous wisteria in Costco that I'm going to get to attach to my trelis since last years climatis died :(

How are everyones gardens coming along? :flower:

I spent alot of last week clearing a big section of my garden of gravel and about 5 inches of top soil ready for some artificial grass (good looking stuff, not the stuff you see in butcher shops ). So now, instead of our garden being a gravel pit, it is a mud pit :haha: Not got any before pics, but gonna take some 'during' pics as we go along so I can look back and remind myself of how it did look

we got ours planted a couple of weeks ago! so far so good but we've been gone for several days so we need to tend to them today!

Anyone know how you're supposed to trim basil?

No idea...never grown it myself!

Forgot to say in my OP, my potatoe plants are huge now and my carrots are taking over :happydance: first year of growing veggies (hence only attempting the simples ones first) and I am so happy they have actually done something

Hey everyone . Found this thread and realise it's not been commented on in a wee while !but I'm looking for gardening advice ! I know it's late in the year but want to be prepared for next year ! Moved house and am now the occupier of a lively front and back garden for the first time ! -was in a flat before ! In my back garden I have a patch of unused soil - which is largeish , but covered in weeds ! ( the previous owner had a veg patch there about ten years ago ) so I would like to do this again . Was wondering if once I weed the patch would I need to treat it , add more fresh soil/ compost ? I'm totally clueless ! Would love to grow potatoes , carrotts , cabbage , onions ectin the spring summer ?
Also looking into getting a green house to grow tomatoes , cucumber , fruit ect ?I anyone knows anything a out greenhouses what type should I get - there r so many out there - don't want to spend anymore than £250.
Do u guys grow most of your fruit and veg from seed ? Thanks for any reply's at all !! Xx
