~2012 TTC on Clomid LET'S BUDDY UP!~

Thanks LuluSS I am hoping he has a great SA because then its one less problem for us... (tho sometimes I hope it's him cos I feel like it's all me, my fault & most of the pressure is on me. I know it's me with my irregularity, pco and stuff we don't need sperm issues on top of that)

GL to all of us! I honestly can't wait to test on Thursday!

Hi ladies! I start my first round of clomid on tuesday, and I am pretty excited about it. I saw that someone asked about what time of day to take it, I wouldn't have thought to ask that. Is the time more for side effects or will it also change the time you ovulate? I am so confused about this clomid stuff, seeing as I hadn't heard of it until I came here..
My dr says that I have been ovulating on my own all along(according to tests) and my DH's sperm count was good so he feels that clomid will just give us a push in the baby direction. We have been trying for over a year now, since I had a MC in Janurary last year. I am 34 and DH will be 40 in may.. so it's time for us for sure.

I have been semi ranting in my own little world over here about people who have been getting pregnant or actually giving birth.. while I am happy for them, and I can't help but wonder why THEY get babies, and I haven't yet. The one woman I know is poor as anything(they can't pay rent and have to save up for a soother, is what she told me) and here we are in a house ready to get a baby room ready when needed, and we are having all these troubles. I guess I needed to vent. I'm really NOT a bitter person.. but I SO had to let that out!! Is anyone else here starting clomid on Tuesday? Need a buddy?

Rose

I wasn't told specifically when to take it, he just told me to take it when I started a full flow and to take them all at once (I am on 150 mg, so I have to take 3 50 mg pills a day to equal the 150 mg; I took them CD 3-7). At least your DH's sperm count is good, sometimes a lot of people have trouble getting pregnant on clomid because not only do they have ovulation troubles, but their OH has problem with their sperm; luckily my OH is good in that department too lol.

I know what you mean about hearing about people getting pregnant. I used to bawl because I'd hear someone was pregnant that shouldn't be, but now I try not to let it get to me because there is nothing we can do about it and all we do is get upset. Currently I have a 1st cousin pregnant, and my SIL is pregnant and my brother didn't even want to have children, needless to say that did get to me a lot! Especially when she did a lot of things that she shouldn't have been while pregnant... but we just have to continue to shed positive thoughts on our journey; easier said than done I know! GL to you and I hope you get your BFP on your first cycle :)

Thanks for the reply!!!
I am on 50mg of clomid, and Dr gave me 3 months prescription. He seems to think I likely won't need more than that, which is good to hear.
I am not sure what time to take it, sometimes I get side effects, sometimes I don't.. so I don't know what my chances of getting them now is. I suppose it IS a hormone type thing... IDK.
It's good to know how many people are having the same kind of issues as DH and I. It's also good to know that other people get upset too about other people having no problems at all. I am usually a calm nice person, so me being angry is really odd.
I am keeping my figers crossed for your BFP!!! I really have a feeling that a lot of people will get BFPs this month and next month... it's spring and near st. patricks day, I just got a feeling.

Another question: How do you track when to bd during clomid? I have been told by my dr to not use ovulation tests.. but I still would like an idea of around when is best. If anyone could help me, that would be good.

It is definitely hormonal type problems mixed with emotions that only those trying so lOng would understand. Don't worry things will turn around! At least they have tests and medications we can try now. About the ovulation, this time with clomid I physically felt left ovary pain that would literally double me over. Them 2 days later I had a huge glob of fertile mucus (tmi sorry!) So when I felt that pain I made sure to bd often; however I was told to bd every other day from my last clomid pill until I think I o'd or until CD 21 just to be sure I can catch the egg. FX for our BFPs!!

Good morning ladies,
I will be taking my 4th pill tonight and I have had no side effects, How is everyone doing?

I'm doing great! Will be leaving in a couple hrs to see the dr do a little nervous! That's great about having no side effects! Hope it goes well throughout the month for you :)

I felt the exact same way! DH called me with the results last Friday all excited about his count. I felt kind of sad because I was the only defective one. I felt guilty about it. But I explained to him and I feel better now. His motility isn't the greatest (only 23% rapid moving swimmers), but due to his count I guess it isn't too bad. But DH is still letting me say he has slow swimmers lol. It makes me feel a little better.

But I agree, looking at the big picture, it is better that DH's SA is normal. One less issue to overcome.

DH and I talk about it too. We have to or I'll have a breakdown ( I work fulltime & I have a fulltime uni load too, and I do student teacher prac one day a week) with my commitments. I'm smoke free (social smoker for w while, now fully clean), alcohol free & caffeine free... In DH's defense he's finally giving up the smokes. But every little bit helps. I go for my ultrasound (to check for clomid sideeffects) on 22nd then I see the FS on 28th. But so far no positives on opk on peestick or saliva test, got my basal thermometer today. (still BDing ever second day).

Well got horrible news yesterday; I didn't ovulate. Progesterone level was .5 and when I asked why I had the pains and fertile mucus I was told those are promising signs but the progesterone shows I didn't ovulate, and he won't give me more clomid even though this was only my first round in 2 years, so I have to do an HSG test which is $1,900 I don't have being my insurance doesn't cover infertility. My dr also tOld me I didn't ovulate enough to be pregnant? I wasnt thinking at the time, but what does he mean I didn't ovulate enough? I did or did not ovulate?! He kept avoiding my question when asked why I had sharp pains in my left ovary area and fertile mucus, he said my ovary shouldn't have had that much pain while ovulating but he couldn't tell me what it was! My mom and husband thinks I should go for a 2nd opinion what do you ladies think? I am thinking I am going to take a "6 month" NTNP and just focus on me losing weight then try for another dr;I'll still be on clomid for my insulin, do you ladies think maybe that is a good plan too? I'm pretty depressed right now and just felt like I've been kicked in the stomach because I was sure I ov'd this time...

I'm so sorry to hear that Felicia. Maybe your body geared up to ovulate but never did...so maybe that's why you had the pains and cm? My doc told me the same thing last month about my ovulation not being strong enough. Try not to be to bummed even though I know it's easier said than done. At least your still on the clomid so thats good! Maybe next month you will ovulate, i know lots of people on here that ovulate stronger one month than the other while on clomid. What is an HSG btw?

Oh felecia I am so sorry to hear that. If I were in the same boat as you, with your Dr skating around answering your questions.. I would get a new Dr, no question. I mean, it's your money paying to see the Dr, so he should be answering your dang questions, point blank.
If you feel, for your sanity, you should do a 6 month NTNP.. then go for it. Maybe your body and mind relaxing for a while will be a good thing.

*Hugs* and stay positive!!!!

An HSG stands for a very long word and I can't read my dr's handwriting lol. However it is s test where they put dye in yor uterus and flush it through tubes to see if there is any blockage. My dr won't let me stay on clomid because he said being I didn't ovulate this month then it is a waste of time to go any further and I will be sent to a specialist an hr and a half away with all out-of-pocket expenses. I'm going for a second opinion that may get me more clomid and I'm going to lose weight as well.

Thank you :) I'm feeling better today and I'm trying to stay positive; easier said than done lol. I'm going for a second opinion that others have went to with better outcomes. I'm just angry my dr wouldn't even give me another chance. Some women ov one mth but not the other, but I couldn't find out if I would be one of those women. If I still have that feeling of unknown at next dr I think I will take all medication break. Thank you so much for your reply. You ladies help me get through this process!

Hey Felicia...sorry about your not so good news…I have had HSG done and reason he is sending you is probably because sometimes when they to that they flush out fallopian tubes and some women get pregnant after that because their tubes get open...my insurance does not pay for HSG however my doc is great and she coded it somehow to where insurance would pay for it so my out of pocked was about $300.00...My HSG was normal…I would find a different doctor though...when I told my first ob that I was spotting for about 7 or more days before period his reply was: “at least you have a period”…I did not ask any more questions…girl I work with has recommended me to one I have now and I love her…she listens to me and I do not feel rushed…Also if you did not ovulate on 50mg he could have given you a higher dose as that is what I have read on some other posts doctors have been doing…my ob said that if it did not work this month she would up my dose from 50mg to 100mg..I know this email will not make you ovulate but I hope it gives you some support…GL

I still haven't hit my surge yet so I'm still waiting for the smiley face on my digital opk! When do you think you will ov?
