2nd scan

Ive got my second scan today at 5 months getting nervous for some reason, do i have to hold my wee in for an hour this time b4 aswell and drink a pint i hated doing this last time i thought i was gonna wee myself lol xxxx

I think having a full bladder is more important on the first one. I only had 3 glasses of water on my first and the picture was fine.

I guess have a few drinks before! They usually have a water fountain in waiting rooms so if you need a wee, have one and then load yourself back up again! haha

I was told only to drink two glasses of water or whatnot. I drank orange juice, but don't drink it an hour before hand... I found my bladder filled up quite quickly and I had to go to the loo before I left.

I think you have to have a full bladder. Thats what my letter says anyway. Im nervous too. I have mine in 3 weeks but I think it's normal to be worried.

thanks everyone just needing loo all the time and hate holding it im leaving the house 30 mins b4 so will just go then and then drink water on way there i just felt so uncomfortable last time i felt like i couldnt enjoy it as much cos all what i was thinking is omg im gonna wee myself especially being nervous lol xxxxx

Good luck with your scan.

Hopefully you didnt do what I did and fill your bladder up that much you are sent out and told to go to the toilet . They do say its more important to have a full bladder at your 12wk scan though. I just took it to the extreme... I almost didnt make it across the hospital carpark for my second. OH thought i was going mad. LoL

same goes for me, i was told by my dr that there was no need for a full bladder during my 20 weeks scan too!

I had loads of orange juice then loads of water in the waiting room at my 12 weeks scan, I thought that was what you are meant to do, then when I got into the room, I was told to go and empty my bladder as it was to full.

They said at both my scans - "My god do you want to use the loo? You really look like your going to burst"

I think i have a big bladder cuz I wasnt even bursting for a wee lol

ps i ended up going and only drinking about half a pint and u could see baby fine it was so nice to see the baby again all went well xxxx
