5 wks pg, HCG did not double in 24 hours :(

Friday night I went to urgent care at the request of the advice nurse due to my disappearing symptoms. They took blood and my number was good, 4,695. Last night I had spotting and cramps so I went to the ER, the did an ultrasound and saw a yolk sac that measured 5 weeks 5 days (I was just 5 weeks yesterday). They also took blood and it was only 5,837, in 24 hours it only rose 1,142. I went to urgent care again this morning per their instruction Friday for another draw to compare it to Friday's. Now I'm waiting to hear from them. The doctor on Friday said it should double in 48 hours, the doc at the ER said 24-72, and the doc today said it should have doubled in 24 hours. I am so confused/devastated/worried/said. Just a huge pot of emotions

As far as I'm aware it's doubling time is up to 72 hours..

Mine didn't double with my first child I was told I was going to mc and she is almost 6 years old! X

Hcg typically doubles in 48 hours but can double between 24 and 72 hours. I know its hard but try not to worry about the figure you got after 24 hours hopefully the next lot of results will show a good rise. x

Thank GOD this morning the numbers went up!! So Friday night it was 4,695. 24 hours later it was just up to 5,837. 12 hours later it's now up to 7,482! In 36 hours it's gone from 4,695 to 7,482. I hope and pray that it continues to rise!!!!!!

Also, those doctors and their ideas on hCG doubling time… I tell you, it's like they don't have a clue about pregnancy!

Keep in mind:
- hCG levels below 1,200 mIU/ml double every 48 -72 hours
- hCG levels between 1,200 - 6,000 mIU/ml double every 72 - 96 hours
- hCG levels above 6,000 mIU/ml can take more than 96 hours to double.

Done so happy for you, as for doubling times when hcg is over 1200 miu it takes 72/96 hours to double and that what my midwife said and it also states it on the beta blood bHCG site, so they are amazing numbers Hun xXx
