A home for EVERYONE!

Hi Baybee, we missed you! Family comes first, I hope all is going well with you and the Fam.

Libby, where are you?!

For Lisa-
Someone who has a great zest for life, always remain calm and collected and are able to be in control of situations. Has an unprecedented sense of humor. It is rare to cheer everybody up in different situations, yet she always manages to do it. Moreover, she is the life and soul of a party, which makes her extremely sociable. She is not quick-tempered, in fact deep down, she is really an amiable person. Lisa has a very unpredictable lifestyle, for this reason she spends a lot of time exercising. Intelligent and very focused. Strong set of character, which makes her stands out from the rest. Never one who gives up. Extremely beautiful. Great lover.

For Libby-
Super fun girl to hang out with! Pretty and popular, she has lots of friends! Libby is smart and out going! She tends to be in dramatic situations, but that's ok because she has friends to help her get through it with ease!

Janelle i pmd libby and she is just supper busy and will post more this week!oh and we are talking have to lay new flooring and drywall. this house was built 1890...we found NEWSPAPER they stuffed in the walls as instalation dated for may 1890 lol and the up stairs has not been used in about 10yrs only for storage so lots of cleaning to....swear it looks like an episode of hoarders up there lol....i bet my parents would love it if they knew i said that one!

Hi Babybee!!! hope everything is goin good.

Our old house was like that. We found a railroad track in the basement!!! It had oil heating too. TALK ABOUT EXPENSIVE! The walls were just wood and plaster. It was nice in the summer because it stayed really cool, but sucked so bad in the winter. It was such a cute house though. I think it was built in 1900. I miss renting it out. I always wanted a really old victorian type house, but we definitely don't have the money to fix one up.

Alright ladies, I got these pictures to show you I had to really search my computer to find some of the original. This first one is what the house looked like when we first moved in. I HATE LAVA ROCK! It's soooooo ugly!

https://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii526/janelleybean1/SANY4154.jpg

So one night at 2 o'clock in the morning when Dan and I were building the oven box, I looked over and wondered how hard it would be to rip it all down and cover it with something else. So, this is what happened...

https://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii526/janelleybean1/031112123203.jpg

...I get side tracked very easily. Anyway, the fireplace stayed this way for quite awhile. Thinking it would be easy to cover it, we took our time getting around to it. Holy hell, it was a pain in the butt!! All the brick was uneven, all the mortar above the opening had to be redone. So, we did that on Saturday. Then while my husband was doing that, I looked out the back door and wondered how hard it would be to cut down a privacy fence in our backyard. It just went around our patio... Again side tracked.. So, I inspected it and begged my husband to cut it down. He was irritated, but I reminded him we wouldn't be able to really do anything until the mortar dried anyway. So this.. (again this is what it looked like when we first moved in)

https://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii526/janelleybean1/SANY4155.jpg

Is now this.. (pay no attention to the black drip line. I got the piece to convert it, so that it can lay flat on the ground, just haven't gotten around to it.)

https://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii526/janelleybean1/DSCF2461.jpg

Doesn't it look bigger! Now, who ever lived here before had a hot tub, which is why there are a bunch of cinder blocks in the middle of our stamped patio. So the plan, is to reuse the fence that Dan cut down to build a raised garden bed there in the middle of our patio. I thought it would be kinda nice. I can go out there barefoot and not have to worry about stomping around in dirt. We're going to take the left side of the fence down next year, but we have no where to put it at the moment. So, it has to stay up! See, I'm already talking about next year and my garden plans when I should be telling you about the fireplace.

So after scratching our heads because we had no idea what we were doing. We finally have this beast done framed and drywalled!!

https://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii526/janelleybean1/DSCF2457.jpg

Now, it may just be me, but I totally think it looks bigger than the original ugly lava rock. Anyway, that thing is solid! There is no wiggle what so ever! We had to anchor vertical wood strips into the uneven brick, which did not anchor so well. So we then had to add 4 inch wide pieces of wood horizontally and it's solid! Around the opening the brick was at an angle so we had to get it flat, which I have no idea how we did it. I failed geometry, but when having to cut angles for this kitchen we haven't used any fancy tools just a pencil and it's all come out perfect. It's crazy! Now all that is left is cutting a board to fit over the bottom for the hearth, anchor that sucker in and it's ready for tile! We got a really pretty sage green subway tile for the fireplace surround and hearth, which also matches our back splash for our kitchen. If all goes well this is an idea for our fireplace.

But with this mantle...

https://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii526/janelleybean1/DSC_2111-edited_thumb.jpg

I love the rustic, cottage look. That's what I'm going for with this house. I really think it will match our counter tops. We have so much more to do, but we're so close to being done. It's really exciting!

Janelle - Awesome job on that fireplace. It's gorgeous.

Krissy - That is a beautiful story about the footprints poem. :hugs: Thank you for sharing. I really do like that poem. As for DH, they can all be pretty stubborn sometimes. I found a good scream works for me. LOL. It doesn't change a darn thing but it sure does feel good. Just make sure there's no one else in the house. Just read about his blood sugar. I'm glad DH is doing better. That is so scary.

Misty - I don't know anything about the testing but I would advise you to do whatever makes you comfortable. Less invasive sounds good though.

Hisgrace- Thanks! So, how are you feeling now that you've gotten a definite bean in there? Do you a have and pregnancy symptoms? I'm so happy you're pregnant. I just had this crazy feeling that you were going to be surprised at this appointment. I refused to believe you miscarried. So happy for you! Seriously, when I think of you I get a grin from ear to ear. True story.

Janelle - Awww thanks. :hugs: I feel fine. Sore boobs and constipation straight from the pit of hell. I switched prenatals yesterday and it's already better. I've had little waves of naseau but I've been blaming it on the constipation. Talked to my mom and she said she didn't have morning sickness with me so hopefully it's genetic and I got that gene. LOL.

Nicole - how are you feeling? I saw the apples and peanut butter made you feel bad. I hope you're feeling better.

Krissy - I hope you get some soon because someone in this thread needs to.

Hisgrace- I wake up feeling not pregnant and go to bed feeling like I got hit by a truck. My boobs hurt and I feel so nauseated. I'm hoping this is an easy pregnancy for you and it goes smoothly. That's how my first was. I've been using those Sea bands, they help with nausea.

I do have a confession, I did get some lovin' this past weekend, Shh.. just don't tell Missy, she will yell at me.

Hi ladies, yes I am doing quite well. I hope you all are doing just a great. Janelleybean, your craftsmenship is one in town. I love the before and after of your fireplace. I admire those who can envision what they want to see done and can get it done. I not that creative ... my mind will always go to "can I buy it like that instead." lol

In response to Armymama, Lisa is pretty awesome, isn't she!

Hi Krissy, was thinking of you. How are you doing? Things with your hubby?

Hahah, Baybee you made me laugh. It's not done yet! Not even half way! I would probably be like that too, but I look at something I like and have learned it's so much cheaper to do it yourself, then to pay to have it done. I just laugh at the future owner of this house though, if they decide to change anything they are going to be pretty angry. There are so many screws and nails holding our projects up! We laughed because when we took down our cabinets to paint them, there were LINES of little holes in the wall. The previous owner obviously didn't own a stud finder. LOL I just wish I wasn't as distracted as easily as I am.. otherwise I'm sure this could have all be done months ago. Thanks for your kind words though. I appreciate it. =]

I'm ok. Turns out my pregnancy cyst (that sustains the pregnancy until the placenta forms) is leaking and causing pain. It is also pretty big compared to the usual pregnancy cyst. Get weekly ultrasounds until we see a heartbeat. My next one is on Thursday!

oh phew!! glad everything is ok. I was thinking about you! :flower:

Nicole, I went through that as well. The not feeling well and not being able to eat much. I hate that feeling. It only lasted a few days for me, hope it's the same for you. I hope you see a heartbeat at your next scan. When is it next week? I had backaches as well, tell your doctor at your next scan, mine told me it's probably just hormones or could be where the baby is implanted if you have tipped uterus. :hugs: Also, the app you speak of, can anyone DL it? My MIL has an ipad, but I do not.. She likes to be involved. Do you think she would enjoy it? Would it give her enough info? Or would she need a bunch of my info in order for it to be more affective?

Nicky- :hugs: I'm thinking of you as well. You're such an amazing person and I hope that you get your BFP with in the next couple days. I'm hoping for you. =]

Krissy- :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: Don't let your self have a heavy jar, when you've got all these lovely ladies to help you carry it. You know, I should really post that story just so that everyone knows what it's about.

Misty- Where the hell are you woman?!?!
