Finlay is 7 week old today an really startin to notice his surroundings so this weekend am takin him to mothercare an think am gonna get him an activity mat.

So my question is do you have one an if so which one an does ur lo like them or do u think they are a waste ov money and if so what other toys would you recommend / did your lo like at this age.

He is facinated by the big light in livin room so might see what light up toys they have xxx

i'd definately recomend a play mat - it helps them develop the feelings of touch and builds muscles as they start to reach up. Also good for tummy time.
I have this one. NO lights on it though, but it says it can be used until he's 1 so i dont think it's a waste at all. The little toys on hooks come off too so we take LO's favourite monkey out and clip it to teh stroller when we are out and about too.

the arches can move and its really versatile so should stop LO getting easily bored. Comes with a musical mirror too.

I have a tinylove one too, and Helena has been going on it for the past week and she LOVES IT already! It is a great toy and she will lay there for an hour hitting the little yellow horse. She only likes the horse at the moment though, haha. I received mine for a baby shower gift and so far it is one of the best gifts I received. I am going to buy them as gifts for any baby showers that I attend in the future.

I have the fisher price one and he started using it at 7 weeks also and still does to this day :)

Playmats are fantastic for babies. I have the Rainforest playmat and will be trying Chase on it today. :)

I got carlee this https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3130485 but shes starting to slowly get bored of it so Were getting her this https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3166801

i only got mine when jack was 8 weeks and he loves it now x

Alasdair isn't too fussed about his. He'll lie under it for a bit but he's more interested in teethers and simple toys (bless him!) He tends to like to look at one thing at once so I think his activity gym (even though it only has 3 things on it!) overwhelms him. We have a fisherprice rainforest one but it's the cheap one.

we have these two:

maddi loves hers especially her pink one, she loves playing with the buttons and watching the lights :cloud9:

I definitely recommend a play mat. Hannah uses hers everyday

This is the one that we have. Charlotte loves it. It's Baby Einstein...the middle sun/star thing flashes different color lights and plays music
