Rang EPU this morning, they need a GP referral but said if I'm not in significant pain the chances are it's not ectopic. I'm going to go to the GP this afternoon anyway.

I'm wondering if it might be the hook effect... I had lines on a SD around 12-13dpo, started bleeding at 15dpo so stopped testing, then started testing again around 20dpo with FRER (which we all know are crap!), then with the One Step midstream at 22dpo, and they've got a lot of reports of false negatives too... so I haven't actually used a reliable test since around 13dpo, I disregarded them though because FRER was negative... maybe if I had been using SD and Clearblue all through my bleed I'd have seen progression?

Going to try diluting SMU and testing in a bit.

I've just looked back at my last testing thread - I got a decent line on an SD at 11dpo, then one that looked the same at 13dpo, taken with extremely diluted urine, which would probably have been darker if I'd used a decent sample. After that I used FRER which didn't have lines, cheapies which had squinters, then because I started bleeding I stopped testing. Then started using FRER again at 20dpo and they were BFN, then started using the One Steps and got that lovely thick line, then they started fading, around 25dpo-ish, then the faint lines on SD and CB. Having searched on google it looks loo the hook effect kicks in around 24dpo... so maybe it's that?!

It's nearly like for like with my situation except your tests are much darker than mine.

I would def see if you could get an appt to get bloods done. That will 100% tell you what's going on.. xoxoxox

Today's tests - Clearblue with non-diluted urine, Superdrug with diluted urine

That's a really good line on the SD with diluted urine :)

Definitely see your GP. They should be able to pull your bloods there. I wouldn't pester the EPU just to confirm a pregnancy unless you're in pain or bleeding. There are lots of ladies in serious situations who need those appointments urgently. But your GP should be able to do everything you need without a referral anywhere else.

Out of curiosity, have you had cysts in the past? Ovarian cysts can cause exactly this sort of thing, faint positive on an hpt that never gets darker. It might be worth mentioning it to the GP if you have any history. Not to be a downer, but I think you would have gotten a darker test by now. Certainly, I was testing at around 20-30 dpo and I was still getting strong lines (strong enough to pull the dye from the control line to the test line), but no sign of the hook effect. I think you would still be early enough on to expect to have gotten at least one good line. I would push them to do a really thorough investigation because it could be a number of things and you don't want to be driving yourself nuts on your own trying to figure it out.

Oh I understand about the EPU, I would never try and push in just for my own wellbeing. It was more that because I was worried about it possibly being ectopic, and I know it's better to find out before it ruptures.

I've never had a cyst before, and never had an issue like this either. I have no idea what's happening!

Sd test has a good line! So how many weeks would you be? Xx

I just got a dark Bfp on a Lloyd's test. They're 10 miu x see if you can get one x

Gosh how confusing. The SD deffo has a line, what will you do now? X
