Any other irregular gals out there?? Let's stick together! (TTC#1 FORUM))

Hello ladies!!

Just checking in with you all. How's it going for everyone?

On my end.... My doc prescribed a progesterone withdrawal. I finished the 10 day prescription on Sat and got my withdrawal bleed last night. Super fast! I didn't expect it to work quite so quickly. Since it came on last night I am counting today as CD1. On Thursday I can FINALLY get my blood work done for prolactin and estrogen. Hallelujah! I hated the never ending wait. It was awful. I've also been on Metformin for the last 8 weeks and worked my way up to the full dose maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago. I am seeing some positive benefits as it is helping with my acne. I'm hoping that is a good sign that maybe it is insulin resistance related for me (which would make sense since I see such a positive benefit when I eat a good diet) and that can be reversed with diet and exercise. Hopefully the metformin will be all I need to jump start my cycle again and make way for a baby bump. Here's hoping!

Question for you all. Is there any real evidence that caffeine negatively impacts PCOS? I don't drink coffee but one of my favorite drinks has white tea in it. I may have a cup of it a day, if that. I just realized it had caffeine in it today. And as I just bought a big case of this drink from Sam's Club, I'm loathe to ditch it. What do you think?

Hi MEPride, I am glad that metformin seems to be working for you!

I would not worry much about having 1 cup of white tea a day... I stopped coffee and switched to mint tea, I read that 1 or 2 cups a day is actually fine.

Afm, I am on my first (and hopefully last!) Clomid cycle. I took it cd 2-6 and today is cd8. I have an u/s monitoring on cd10, hopefully it will be all good...

Good luck for you cd3 bloodtest!

Hi everyone! I read through this whole thread and found it fascinating!

As you can see from my sig I'm a mum of 4. I ttc for my 1st child for almost 4 years and didn't really get any help and was young and naive not knowing much about PCOS etc. I eventually became pregnant without any help but was 9 weeks before I realised and it was only because I started vomiting in the mornings! I had very little trouble conceiving the 3 youngest. My son who is 7 came after 10 cycles and the two little ones took only one attempt. We thought we were done and my hubby had the ship. Fast forward 4 years and my desire for a baby has come back ten fold eeeek!!!

My hubby agreed to a reversal so had recently had that some. We are now actively TTC :)

However my cycles have always been long and I'm recent months have gone crazy!!! After a visit to my Dr and a few tests they diagnosed PCOS. I am now on metformin (clomid next cycle) and have been for a week. I'm taking EPO and a bunch of recommended vitamins. I'm currently on 1500mg of met . Last week I had a very odd bleed.....I though AF was coming but it was brown and streaky old blood. It was super light and only when I wiped. I had all my usual period pains and aches etc so now sure whether to count it as an actual period ? It lasted 4 days as AF often does and disappeared.

I'm also chatting and temping etc although I don't have much of an idea of what I'm doing haha. It's new to me . I notice opks show a constant surge too....Although I have had some success with the clearblue digital ones.

Congrats to all the ladies who have their bfps already and Good luck to all waiting to test. Hope I can join your journeys xxxx

Oh and my last two cycles have been 42 and 45 days if I am to count the latest one it will be 46 .....x

@2Ducks how is everything going? im sorry your new job doesn't cover, hopefully clomid does it for you fx.

@MEPride Glad to see you get the ball rolling, now its the waiting game. good luck to you this cycle. im also taking metformin, im currently waiting to see if it helps put AF back on track currently CD19 so I have a few days left to find out :coffee: im not too sure about the caffeine im sorry. maybe google can help. But like @joey said im sure 1 or 2 cups cant do harm. I believe it take a significant amount to make a bad effect.

@Joey hope your U/S goes well. and wishing you all the luck this cycle.:flower:

@Hopeful I thought my bleed in between was odd as well. sounds just the same as you explained. although AF is not due for another week. I wonder if its because of the Metformin. it was only spotting but never experienced that before, though it was not for 4 days just about 2.interesting.

Hmm how weird! Maybe it's common on metformin. I'm having cramps and pains today not sure whether to expect af or ov....dont know where I am with it. I know it can be a sign of early pregnancy but I'm definitely not preggars yet :( xx

Not sure about all of the lingo, but irregular. . . I can relate to that! I have been married two years and we are trying to have our first child... trying to stay positive!

Just checking in after a little hiatus. I finished my 3rd rounds of Clomid (second 100mg round.) 2 days ago on cd9. We didn't start BDing yesterday as hubby fell asleep super early, so we started today. I go for my day 12 ultrasound tomorrow to check my follies. I might ask my doctor if I should go back on metformin (I was on it for a year about 3 years ago.), or if I should try using berberine, which is a natural supplement that has does the same thing metformin does for insulin resistance.

I ended up not getting the job I interviewed for, which despite how amazing the pay raise would have been, is all well and good. I'll be starting college on 8/1 and my current job is paying for it so.... At least I have that going for me.

Tara2016- Welcome to the ttc #1 board! I hope that you find lots of good info and support from other ladies who are also trying for their first. Do you have any sort of diagnosis? How long have you been ttc?

MEPride- I'm glad your withdrawal bleed started so soon! When I had to wait 10 days I was totally panicking that it wasn't going to come. I wouldn't worry about the caffeine in tea if you are only having 1 or 2 cups.

Joy- Are you having any side effects from the Clomid. Interestingly the longer I have taken in the more side effects I get. Fx that this dosage works for you!

Iloveme29- how are things going for you?

InkedLady- So sorry you didn't get the new job. I hope this cycle works better for you. What are you going to school for?

As for me, I am on CD11. Took clomid CD 3-7 this cycle. I have acupuncture tomorrow afternoon. I also scheduled a free 30 minute phone consultation with a doc at a fertility clinic, I figured it is time to start looking in that direction. It has also been so hot here that I have been drinking a ton of water. I don't know if I will turn an OPK positive this cycle because my morning urine is not that concentrated and I am not even bothering depriving myself of water for 3-4 hours in the afternoon to test!

Thanks 2ducks. I'll be going to school for Graphic Information Technology, so basically a bachelor's in web design and multimedia.

@Inkedlady sorry you didn't get the job, but now u get a little distraction with school which is great. I hope you have some good results tomorrow. and I say if the natural supplement is working and your body is already use to that maybe you shouldn't try any changes in the middle of this cycle you already started.

@tara welcome and good luck to you on TTC. have you seen a specialist or plan on doing any medicated cycles? whats your plan?

@2Ducks im doing great I started my diet and ive lost 2lbs already yay! lol. im waiting to see if AF is going to come on time so I can do another HSG before I go on vacation to visit family and see my RE again. im sure after you have seen the RE you wont regret it. it feels good having a doctor concerned about you TTC just as bad as you. it doesn't hurt to at least try it out, good for you.

7dpo here. Been trying for 4 years but this is my first medicated cycle.

@Jbuggx welcome and Good luck with this cycle. I see you had 3 follies with this cycle. that's great

Iloveme29- are you doing the PCOS diet? When i stopped gluten I lost like 5lbs in a week and kept it off.

jbuggxx- welcome! 4 years is a long time, I am happy that you are finally taking meds and have mature follies! Many of us on this thread have PCOS, it totally sucks!

Pcos does suck!!! Ugh. I'm just hoping it's manageable to the point I do finally get pregnant. I know a lot of people move on to get BFPs and have healthy babies. I just don't want PCOS to be a final sentence and block everything. :(

@2Ducks I have not looked into PCOS diet, but the diet im doing seems to be working just fine. along with my metformin you lose weight.

@Jbuggx If your seeing a RE im sure they will find a way, its just finding what works for you.

Had my follie scan this morning. Found either a huge cyst in my left ovary or a follie that is ripe and ready to go! From what I could see of my chart today, it was at least 26mm or close to. If it is indeed a mature follie, this will be the earliest I have O'd on Clomid to date! Waiting to hear back as far as my LH results go to see if it is go time or not. :coffee:
