Any PCOS ladies want to chat?

Oh my goodness cookie - really pleased he's ok! Thank goodness for the nhs! It's so scary when lo's are poorly.

Good luck for the next few days (very jealous of ewcm btw - I haven't had any since starting clomid :( )

Thanks k4th, it's his 6th hospital stay so we are used to it, although 3 nights is a record. It can get stressful, it's 2 years now since the wheezing started and it always kicks off in September. Just hoping he doesn't end up back in there this year.

Does Clomid dry you up? Couldn't think of a polite way of asking. Lol

I'm still having ewcm but no positive opk yet, maybe tomorrow.

Xx

Haha! The things we can get away with asking online?! :winkwink: clomid dries me up a bit, but it's fertile cm that's noticeably absent! Not watery or ewcm - mostly just sticky. I used to get perfect ewcm before clomid  (well, when I actually ov'd). I have some activ balance sperm friendly lube in - but haven't managed to talk to oh about it yet  or I might try mucinex instead!

Hope you get that positive soon! Can't be too far behind ewcm.

Does your son have allergies that kick off his wheezing? I hope you stay out of hospital too :)

Where are you in your cycle? Hope you get ewcm soon and ovulate.

Took an opk and its almost positive so I'm going to do another around lunchtime, hopefully it will be positive by then.

My son does have hay fever but the wheezing is caused by him getting a cold, it's not with every cold but happens alot. Just hope he doesn't go back in any time soon. He used to like going into hospital but hates it now, he had to wear an oxygen mask and have nebulisers which he didn't like. X

2 litres of water helps with ewcm, as does grapefruit juice if you can stomach it!

Hope you got that positive cookie!!! I've seen nebulisers at work - it seems that the sitting still is often the hardest part - I don't blame him for not enjoying it!!

I *think* I can manage 2 litres of water. I hate grapefruit with a passion but might give it a go day dreamer

Isn't there a cough medicine that is good for producing ewcm??

Well I didn't get a positive opk, in fact it's gone lighter and I noticed this evening that my ewcm is turning creamy, still have some ewcm but not as much as I did. Either I'm not ovulating, or I surged overnight...I'll test again tomorrow but I've had this happen before and I seemed to ovulate. Our timing hasn't been great, we dtd day before yesterday but that's it, yesterday we both felt rough as we've caught our sons cold and before that I was in hospital with my boy and only saw my hubby in passing at the hospital (as I was leaving or coming back). We'll baby dance tonight and tomorrow just to be on the safe side but disappointed that we weren't able to follow SMEP like we had planned. Oh well really couldn't be helped.

Yeah cookie - I think it's mucinex that is supposed to help ewcm. I'm not sure how to take it though. Has anyone else tried it?

It only takes one spermie!!! You're not out hun - day before yesterday would be perfectly in your fertile window if you ov'd today (guessing with you saying cm is going creamy). I dtd only once - 2 days before ov - the cycle I conceived dd. There's hope!

I've never heard of mucinex - is it the same as Robitussin?

I've never heard of mucinex either, a girl I know used whatever cough medicine it is and said it helped. Maybe post a question, others will be able to tell you.

Well my cervix has change from more of a smiley face to more like the tip of a nose, and according to what I read it changes after ovulation so possibly I ovulated yesterday. I don't know really, a few cycles ago I had a cycle like this..I wonder if it's something to do with a particular ovary, I used to think that it was alternative, so one ovary and then the other, but apparently it doesn't. I might have one dodgy ovary. Endometriosis has been mentioned in the past so abit worried it could be that, think I might see a doctor and get it looked into. I get a lot of pelvic pain and have had some nasty flare ups, once was so painful that I passed out.

I've googled :) they're different brand names but do the same thing. They're for chesty coughs so are expectorants which loosen all bodily excretions :haha: as long as one of the ingredients is guaifenesin it should do the job!

Afm I'm apparently 11dpo today and no signs of spotting at all...(my 2 previous cycles were 31 days and I started spotting at 8/9 dpo)...not sure whether that's good or bad. Could be good if I did ovulate as it means my LP is behaving properly. Or it could be because I didn't actually ovulate on CD17 and am having a lengthy cycle like I used to.

Only time will tell I guess, if AF turns up later this week...

Daydreamer - fingers crossed for you. Are you going to test or see if your af arrives?? I hope you did ovulate. Are you basing ovulation on a positive opk?

I dont think I started testing early enough with my opks, I have never ovulated before cd 19, but I think I ovulated cd 17 maybe even 16. I really dont know, my last day of really good ewcm was cd 16 and I tend to ovulate the day after my peak ewcm. I'm going to assume cd 17 and keep checking incase I do get more fertile cm. I took my temp this morning and its well above my pre ovulation temps, obviously I'm not going to be able to pinpoint ovulation as I have over a week of no temps but I can compare to the temps I took before my boy went into hospital and if I get a few days of highs then I will assume I have ovulated. Fingers crossed. If I did ovulate then that's the earliest I've ever ovulated which is fab!! I haven't lost weight in a couple of months and despite a small gain I have pretty much maintained. My other pcos symptoms aren't great though which is annoying, I'm so spotty at the moment it's horrible!!!!

xx

No testing as I didn't get a donation this month - I had a bit of a scare as I thought I felt a lump on my cervix so had to get that looked at and a smear...cancelled my donation just in case anything sinister was found. It's all fine though so I'll try again this month.

Basing ovulation on the presence of EWCM and a positive opk. I've never had positive opks before the last 2 months so I'm taking that as a good sign.

Still no AF symptoms yet though which is weird at 12 dpo. Maybe I didn't ovulate at all

Well fingers crossed af just arrives suddenly despite no signs so you can get started on your next cycle.

TTC is such a hassle isn't it, I'm just fed up of it now...it's been a year and 3 months since we started and I'm totally and utterly fed up!!!! My hubby has his phone consultation with the doctor tomorrow (would have taken too long to get a face to face appointment) so once that's done she will refer him to the hospital so he can have his swimmers tested. God knows how long we will have to wait for his appointment. I said to him if he gets me pregnant this month then he wont have to have the tests...I thought abit of an incentive might help!!! lol

xx

It really is!! It's over 5 years now since I started my donor search and it's such a chore every month working out what my body is doing and whether or not to arrange a donation and then whether or not AF is coming. If I were in the position to be able to I think is definitely be NTNP by now. I so want to ease off and be all 'if it's meant to happen it'll happen' about it, but it just doesn't work that way for me :(

Fx'd your hubby's SA is ok - other than stopping caffeine, alcohol and smoking I'm not sure there's anything that can improve sperm counts.

Almost three years for me and understand your frustrations DD. So difficult to not be able to "relax and let it happen"

Ah it must be extremely hard with the unpredictability of your cycles and having to get a donor.

My hubby had his phone consultation with the doctor so now just has to wait for a letter from the hospital with his appointment. I'm glad things are moving but it's highly unlikely that we'll see a specialist this year. My hubby really does need to cut down on his drinking, he says he's rejoining he gym and will eat healthier and not drink at all. He only drinks a weekends but it seems to be every weekend now.

xx

Feeling much more confident that I ovulated, have been taking my temp...its much much higher than my pre ovulation temps and only goes this high if I've ovulated. I had a slight dip yesterday at 3 dpo and I always have a dip at 3 dpo (think its called a fall back rise), today at 4 dpo is shot up again. So looks like I ovulated on cd 17, which is the earliest I've ever ovulated!!! Really pleased! Now I just need a positive pregnancy test! :)

Almost certain I am out this cycle. Temp dipped WAAAYYY down under coverline today. I suppose all I can pray for now is AF, that way I can be sure my system is getting back to normal...
