Any "plus-size", bigger gals TTC their first? :)

Just an update: My super faint second line has stayed super faint, it has not gotten any darker over the last 4 days so I think I am out....and my Dr. doesn't even think I've ovulated this cycle based on my bbt chart. Despite a positive OPK and EWCM.
WHY did that second line show up???? I could see it, my DH could see it, it showed up in pics and it keeps showing up! And just to satisfy my POAS addiction I did an OPK today and a super faint line showed up on it too!
so I can't help holding on to a little tiny shred of hope. I haven't missed my AF due date yet (even tho if my Dr. is right I didn't ovulate and thus will not get AF this month). What do you ladies think? I am going crazy here....

Should I wait to see if AF/BFP show up? or should I just take the provera to bring on AF and then try my third round of clomid and get on with it?

Hun. People still get AF if they don't ovulate! What is your doc talking about?
If I had a bfp line, no matter how faint I would sit in a padded room and not take any pills or do anything until that line turned into a sticky bean!

Just my opinion but I wouldn't take anything! I would just wait it out.

What makes you think it's a false positive? Had this happened before?

Did your doc do a blood test for hCG? He/she can't really know anything for sure w/out doing a solid test! Could you possibly be PG but not have enough progesterone going on causing low temps? Do you have a link to your BBT chart? Also, I've heard that an LH surge can show up as a positive on some PG tests. What is your CM/CP like? Could you be O'ing late?

If you're getting a positive pregnancy test, SOMETHING is going on. I'm concerned by your doctor's lack of interest in what that something actually is...

Agreed. Sorry to sound rude but your doc sounds a bit of an idiot!
Women ovulate on average 10 out of 12 months. That is 'normal' and they have periods. I can't believe with a positive line that he would get you to take something to bring on AF! If there is even a small chance you are pg, don't take anything! Apart from folic acid and the recommended vits

Agree~! even with anovulatory, you should still get the witch...heck, last year i was late for AF by a week or two and did a hpt, negative of course, but then a day or two later she showed...and didnt stop! just day after day of light flow, my gyn gave me provera to try to slow/stop it (she said probably anovulatory cycle...boo!), which it did...then the next cycle, omg sooo heavy it was awful! Maybe get a second opinion or ask for blood tests...or yeah...just wait...it is Preg category X, so if there is even a chance...dont take em! FX'd that your levels are just low like pinksprinkles said...and there could have been other factors affecting your temp...so i would hope they would go off more than just that to say "no you didnt ovulate"...!! Good luck and keep us posted! :hugs:

Thanks for all of your help and concern ladies!! I REALLY appreciate it! :hugs:

I think I am going to wait until Sunday and if AF/BFP don't show up then I am going to take the Provera and move on.

This TTC business is so hard and I am so impatient!

I am thinking one more try with clomid and then DH and I are going to try IUI. What do you ladies think?

I'd like to know more about clomid but where I live my dr can't prescribe it. Does anyone know a good place to get the right info so that if and when the specialist does call I can talk to him about what I know.

Love that I found this site! I'm hoping I can help any of you curious about the IVF process or find someone else going through it with me!!

Hubby and I started TTC two years ago on March 17th 2010. We had our embryo transfer March 18th, 2012. We're hoping the luck of the irish will give us a BFP! So now I am in the dreaded 2 week wait before I take my beta pregnancy test.

Here's our story, sorry if it's long: My doctor made me wait a year before he would even discuss infertility with me because of my age. Looking back now I wish I had ignored him and started our fertility testing at 6 months because we wasted a lot of time trying to sort out our issues. Luckily everything inside me was fine besides PCOS, my weight and a slight thyroid issue. Hubby had good sperm count and okay motility, but bad morphology (1%). We were sent right to an RE. They ran every test under the sun for me and found that my thyroid was slightly high (3.1). In the real world anything under 4 is normal but for fertility they want it around 2.5. Went to a thyroid doctor and he suggested waiting for the medicine to kick in and losing as much weight as possible. As hard as it was, I waited 4 months and lost 25 lbs and brought my thyroid down to 1.9. Doc suggested IVF for us because of my hubby's issues and because my PCOS would help me produce a lot of eggs. Started IVF treatment in late February and just had my embryo transfer yesterday. Embryo actually stuck to the catheter, so they say it can be good luck that it will stick to your uterus.

Hello :hi: welcome to our gang :) you're very welcome here!

We might be going private for IVF this year, just waiting to see the consultant. I have to lose weight before we can get our 1 free try at IVF so we're saving up to pay ourselves. I am trying to lose weight and it's coming off but not very quickly, I have another 33lbs to go!

Would love to hear more about the IVF and what happens!

After the most awful 2ww ever, I cheated and took a HPT and we got our very first :bfp:! I could not believe it! We went to the RE's office for a beta test and my number was good. We went back two days later and it more than doubled, so everything is going well so far! I go for my first ultrasound next Thursday and I can't wait. IVF takes a major emotional toll on you and your spouse, but I'm proof of how rewarding it can be in the end!

Personally, I really think you should at least get a blood hCG test done first. Just to check. You could probably get it today even if it's not too late where you are, or go on Monday. Have the test done, and if it's neg, take the Provera. It can't hurt to wait one extra day, right? If it's pos but not sticking, you will as least know you're able to get PG. And who know, maybe you really do have a BFP and don't know it. There are some women who it takes a while for the hCG to build up in their urine, so the at home tests stay light longer- but it shows up amazingly well in their blood. What if you're one of those women?

Of course, you should do what is right for you, and you have my support no matter what you choose. But if it were me, I wouldn't let an ill-informed doctor or an HPT dictate anything if it's so borderline like that. You have a second line. If you have a second line, anything is possible.

If DH and I don't get PG this cycle, and if his SA isn't looking any better next check, well- we to will be headed to an IUI next cycle or the one after. If we both end up going that route, we should buddy up! I'll be IUI TTC buddies with you for sure. GL!

Hun i really really think you should just wait it out and thats coming from someone who is on day 60 of a 30 day cycle, im fed up but to be honest i dont think my lack of af can be counted as pregnancy now, ive had all neg test results ive yet to go to docs with my urine sample for them to test for pg, ive had kidney infection and urine infection so had to take pain killers (co-codamol and anti inflamatories) anti-biotics, then found out i had a minor bout of thrush due to the anti-biotics so ive had to have medicine for that too and ive got no pregnancy signs other than peeing ALL THE TIME, sore nipples and being very dizzy and sickly but im not sure if thats just because ive been un lucky with sickness!!! im worried that if i am pg but dont know about it, that with all the medication ive been taking will not help the sticky bean so thats why ive put myself down as "OUT" for this cycle and just waiting for af to finally arrive!! got an ultra sound waiting to be booked and blood test on the 11th of april to checks for PCOS and any thyroid problems so im just going to put my focus on getting those done and wait for the results before i get back to ttc, might take a little break after this cycle because its been hard going...

You will really punish yourself if you force af and take pills before you find out for sure if your pregnant or not hun, if you wait for af then at least you will know for sure if you are or not, i know im kicking myself with worry, its hard to say this but part of me hopes im not pregnant because im sure all these meds ive been taking is not good for the little sticky bean :/ xx

Hey ladies :)

Sooo tired tonight so will have to catch up with posts tomorrow

AF is properly here now so bit relieved but feeling knackered lol

Did as I promised and now have a purple streak in my hair although you can hardly see it :dohh: Think I will have to redo it when I lighten my hair.

Here is a pic. It is under my hair so had to pin it up for the photo. Hopefully after I lighten my hair and reapply it will look a darker purple.

Looking good Bbunny, sweet dreams xxxx

Hi :D I have been reading you girls messages, and it makes me feel so much better. It is nice seeing I am not the only one worried about this. :)

I am 5'4 and 175lbs, this is the fattest I have ever been, mostly due to the huge depression I had last year, for no particular reason, all I would do is sit there and eat and do nothing... (I wish I was one of those people that depression would cut their appetite, but noooo, I was depressed and fat) I don't mean to offend anyone by this btw, I am just calling myself fat because this is how I feel. Now I feel a lot better, but I find it hard to get the motivation to loose the weight, especially since it's so cold and rainy and ugly outside.

My goal would be to get back to 140 pounds by the time me and my fiance move in together, so that leaves about 3-4 months. I think that realistic, and that would be better for TTC. :)

So, good luck to all of you girls, and baby dust :D

I'm plus sized and TTC. I'm about to start a program and try to get some weight off so I can get hopefully get a BFP.

Girls! There is hope! I am overweight (and bigger than many of you), I am older (34), and I got my :bfp: this morning!!!

Hang in there ladies!

Aww hun thats fab news :) sooooo happy for you :hugs:

Any tips on getting that BFP :) what have you been doing this cycle? xx

Honestly the only thing we did differently was BD every other day rather than every day during the fertile period. I have been charting, so I knew about when I was going to O. We BD 4 days before O, 2 days before O, and day of O...and that did the trick!
