Anyone else have long cycles, and want to join me on the long wait for O?

Thank you, funnily enough we eat loads of turmeric in curries. I have radically changed my diet and if I have PCOS there is no way I am going to let it turn me into a manly girl!
Thankfully I think I caught it early. I am not yet even really overweight but my BMI is getting close to 25 and I think I'd be happier back around 21. Anyway who thought getting off the pill would let the PCOS beast out... Not exactly the way I imagined things will be.
I am feeling ok just sort of grieving a bit that idea we all had that we would just get pregnant the minute we stopped the pill.

Hy everyone, not been back for a while. My cycle are still about 7 weeks long with about 1 day of period. Finally saw a specialist and inhale suspected PCOS... I actually have a load of symptoms.... I have the ultrasound on Tuesday to confirm.
In a state of shock as it might mean we will never have children but glad tha I might be getting answers and a plan of action...

:hugs: hope the scan goes well next week. If it is PCOS doesn't mean that you get pregnant. As above eat well :hugs

A good friend of mine was diagnosed with PCOS, had lots of cysts on her ovaries AND she had scaring in one of her tubes. It took her about 3 years but she got pregnant and now she has a healthy 8 mo. old!
She cut out soda, started eating less stuff with while flour and took herbs, like evening primrose oil, and also fish oil.

The fertility doc I spoke to yesterday at my appointment said that I o'd even though I had a cyst. So that IS encouraging to know. I highly recommend taking Turmeric. https://organicindiausa.com/_product_5842/Turmeric_Formula

:hi: how has everyone been?

I finally got AF on cd96 and bled for 9 days. I'm currently on CD24 and feeling confident I won't be waiting as long. I've joined slimming world which has helped me to lose more efficiently . I'm convinced if I lose weight AF will begin to regulate so I can easily identify ovulation and bed.

Hope all is well with you ladies

Good job on the weight loss! I also decided to loose a bit of weight and so far lost 1/2 stone in 3 weeks. Still the same amount to loose!
Finally got my period too today after a cycle of nearly 7 weeks. I hope I bleed for more than a day. I would like to think my uterus is lining some nice comfy bed.
My gynea wants me to start clomid in September to regulate my cycle and hopefully guarantee some ovulation. As any of you tried clomid for long cycle? Did it work? (or do u know people it worked for)
Giving ourselves a rest for next cycle... We decided we would have sex when we fancy, no counting, no every 2 days, we will keep healthy but enjoy our holidays and regroup with clomid in September :)

Euronova - I think that's a great idea to take a few weeks out of sex on demand and just relax. It can become very overwhelming at times. A friend of mine had long erratic cycles a couple of years ago and after tests was put on clomid to help with ovulation. They now have a 2 year old baby boy and will begin trying again with clomid for no2 soon. My doc when I discussed my long cycle a few weeks ago said I will be given clomid to help Concieve but we are going to wait until new year to start using it just because I want to lose some more weight first ideally as I still have a high bmi. Congrats on your loss so far :flower:

 hey can I join, my cycles are irregular and long so between 32 to 67, driving me nuts, I have done charting, persona and CBFM to see when I ovulate, some months I don't even ovulate :( I have tried Maca, AC, soya and other random pills no luck.

Just about to hit a TTC.. waiting on a FS appointment.

Welcome Damita! It's such a pain to have long cycle. I too don't know if I ovulate half of the time and it's really hard to keep having sex every other days for up to 3 weeks with no results!
Jellycat- thanks for sharing your friend's experience. I really hope clomid does the trick!! It's great that we are all trying to get to ideal weight first. We will be some super fit mamas :D
By the time I get to my first cycle of clomid i should be at my target weight and I really want to keep fit whilst pregnant.
Weight seems to have such a big impact but I doubt just loosing weight will help my cycle. I am not even overweight but I am heavier than I used to be. So hopefully being back to my normal weight will shorten my cycles a bit. Or clomid will have to do the trick!

Agree with you, I can't seem to keep up and then the cycle gets longer totally moving the goal post of ovulation (if it is happening)..

Hi Damita

I find checking my ovulation a chore as my last cycle was over three months so that's slot of testing. I'm going to start temping now instead as I think taking my temp before getting out of bed will be easier once I go back to work and cheaper as opks are expensive

:hi: everyone!

Jellycat, congrats on loosing weight, I hope you O soon!

Euronova, glad you're on a new cycle! Fx for you it's shorter this time:)

Damita, welcome! Sorry you have long cycles, it is so frustrating! I'm also charting and using OPKs. Ive become addicted to it. I like knowing how my body is doing. BUT, i do feel like it can add stress to TTC which is exactly what we want to avoid.

I'm on fertilaid now almost done my third month. I'm trying to decide if I want to do a fourth. My last cycle was 72 days long! And I'm on cd30 now I think, still no O.
I'm not sure that it's doing anything to shorten my cycles. I migh go back to just regular prenatal vit. Last time my partner and I were NTNP and we got preggers in 3 months, unfortunately I had a mc. But here it is a year and 2 months later and no luck! I'm thinking I should go back to NTNP!

GL ladies! I wish us regular cylces that result in our :bfp: :dust:

Nothing for me yet, I finally had af for 3 weeks, since jan. that was 2 weeks ago.

Gyno visit in 3 months

hey any of you also have very short periods when they do come? I am getting a bit worried as mine only lasted about 36 hours but then sometime they come back for a few hours a couple of days later....

Mine normally last 5/7 days long, CD23 still low on the CBFM I give up with this thing!

Mine are usually 4 days

Last AF I had spotting for 4 days the week before and then my period lasted 9 days but the flow was slot lighter compared to previous AF. This was based on a cycle of 96 days

Hi Ladies:hi:
I seem to have light/short periods when I have an annovulatory cycle. But usuallyy periods are moderate and a little to quite crampy the second day. AF usually goes away about the 5th or 6th day.

Still no sign of O or AF. I stopped taking fertilaid because it wasn't seeming to help. They are more expensive then a regular prenatal vit. I gave fertilaid 3 mo.
Oh well. Doesn't look like July is going to be my month.

:hugs: sorry the fertilaid didn't seem to work. Hope 'O' happens soon for you (fingers crossed)

After my 96 cycle I've had no 'O' either but on cd31 and cd32 I've had some spotting and incredibly cranky. I'm wondering if I should be expecting AF again soon which would mean annovulatory cycle :-( if I do get AF this will be my shortest cycle since Lo was born.

:hi: Tallmom2b, how have you been? I see you ovulated 4 days ago :)

Update from me - my last cycle was 31 but it was a terrible heavy bleed where I had to change every hour and half for 3 days.

I finally got my first positive OPK on cd 16 this cycle.

Been to the docs and he's now running bloodworks for me to see if we can determine what's causing the issues. So happy my family doctor is looking into it vs the other docs at the surgery who didn't understand why it's a problem ???!!!!

Hi jelly cat :)
Glad that your doc is helping you out! I hope you find some answers.
I'm glad to have finally Od, if I don't get my :bfp: this time I've got soy isoflavones to try at the beginning of next cycle. I hate waiting almost 60 days to O!
Its not good for the egg to wait so long. Well fx for you and me!
