Anyone else on 1st Clomid round?

Hey ladies. So my story is we have been TTC for 16 months now and have had 4 miscarriages all around 5 weeks. After tons of testing and seeing multiple specialist I hve been prescribed clomid 25mgs cd3-7. I also am to take prometrium which is a progesterone from 3 DPO to AF. So because of when I started I only took the progesterone last month, I stopped it at cd13 when I had neg tests and then spotted. My cycles are usually very normal at 28 days but my period was late this month, assuming because of the progesterone. Anyways my question is.. I have been spotting but on Friday I had heavier red spotting, I needed a tampon (sorry tmi) but it wasn't a constant flow. Do I put that as cd 1 or sat when it started heavy? Just confused on whether to start the clomid today or tomorrow?

TTC n hopeful, I had an hsg. It was a quick procedure and I had it done before I was prescribed anything. Definitely take an Advil before you go, the fluid makes for some nasty cramping but it's only for a minute or so. Good luck!

They say to count CD1 as the first day of red flow. I would assume if you needed a tampon on Friday that should count as flow? It's really annoying when AF won't just be decisive one way or the other so we can know for sure!
Clomid and progesterone can make your cycles longer, but I'd imagine you'd want to take the progesterone for at least 14 days after ovulation. Are you charting?
I'm so sorry you have had so many miscarriages, that must be very hard to deal with. :(

Thanks Lrowbie and Minuet!

I just basically wanted reassurance that she didn't choose for me to have the scan because she's afraid of blockage and didn't tell me or something. I always think the worst lol.
Lrowbie I agree I would go from the first day of red flow regardless if it was strong or not. The brown and light pink are the ones u wouldn't count. Good luck!!

Thanks ladies! I was kinda thinking that too and had put it in my chart as light. So I'll start them tonight! I do chart from around cd 4- pre AF, ususally I have a temp drop around 11 or 12 DPO and I know AF comes but this month it didn't drop but had neg tests, so assumed it was from the progesterone.
Thanks very much for your help!

His everyone been doing?

I could not sleep for the life of me last night and walked around work like a zombie. Came home and passed out for 2 hours.

Is anyone else really tired?

A bit more tired than usual, but nothing really noticeable yet. I've been feeling nauseous a lot today though, so we'll see what happens in the next few days!

Another night of next to no sleep. I think I might call the doc today if my achy legs don't get any better. Nothing I did relieved it. It's borderline painful rather than aching and started up again even worse this morning.

That is not good. You should call the doctor and see if there's anything they can do or if its a side effect they should check out. Sleep is really necessary!

Yes it is. I was thinking of calling her then found something online how people were drinking water and it helped. I don't know what one has to do with the other but it definitely helped! I hardly notice it now. Hopefully it stays away... now if I can only take something to get rid of the tears I'd be set lol

Minuet: how is clomid treating you? This will be day 4 (I've been taking them at night) I had a headache on day one and now today I had my first hot flash. I will be going for my follicle scan on Wednesday morning. I'm eager to see if 50mg worked to help me ovulate.

AlChild..you're lucky to only have a headache. I had the worst migraine half an hour after taking my first 50mg. The hot flashes were horrible and lasted through the next week. I hated taking them.
Wishing you lots of luck!!

Ah yes, leg cramps are related to dehydration. I just wasn't sure if your symptoms were from something else. I'm glad you found something helpful. :)

I can't complain, pretty mild symptoms compared to a lot of other women.
Very vivid, crazy dreams the past few nights, nauseous most of yesterday and all day today, and a headache this afternoon. I was really hot for an hour or so at work today, not sure if that is like a "mild" hot flash? I am rather tired of feeling queasy, its not pleasant feeling green all the time. It seems to improve with eating something, but then comes right back.
I'm so impatient and nervous also to see if 50mg worked, but won't be doing a scan this cycle. I'll be asking for it next cycle if this one doesn't work!

May I join you ladies? I just went to the OBGYN today after trying for a year and having a couple early MC. I will be getting a HSG and DH a SA early August. If everything looks good, I will be starting Clomid September. I know that is a long way out, but I would like to start learning now so I can be better prepared. I am 26 and DH is 27. Married for 3yrs off medicated BC for 5 yrs. We just had our fur baby born last Tuesday so she will be joining us in September and we would really like a little mini us to join our family very soon. We are getting aggressive with trying because my brother is getting married in September 2015 and we have to fly for part of the wedding (I don't like flying, nor being 9 months and flying).

Any suggestions with the HSG or clomid?

Hi and welcome :)

I am just on my first round of Clomid, so am still trying to learn about it myself. However it does have a good success rate for working, and HSG are known to make you more likely to conceive afterward also.
It's a great idea to get an SA done on hubby asap - and you should both be taking good quality vitamins.
I hope you are successful quickly. Did the doctor say why they wanted you to wait until September instead of starting in August?

We would be pushed back bc I am waiting for this cycle to complete if af shows we will have hsg in august and start clomid in september. She doesn't want to start the clomid without knowing if there is a blockage or not.

FuturebabyG - that makes sense. I take it that an HSG can't be done during AF then? Or else she would do it during the first start of your cycle and then start Clomid right away?

They said no to during af because during AF we are shedding our lining and you don't want to push our lining into the tubes or out into the abdomen. Makes sense but I would have never thought of it.

I'm feeling much better seeing so many people have to take the HSG test. I'm still nervous about the test though. I hope and pray everything goes great for all of us!! Babydust to everyone!

TTC - don't be nervous. I had mine in May and while it was uncomfortable I do believe it cleared out the "gunk". Ever since that cycle I've felt Os a bit stronger. It might be bc I'm hyper attuned to my body bc I want that bfp so bag but I've never felt pangs and pinches before then.

My only suggestion is to take a pad with you as the dye has to go somewhere when you're finished.

Fx'd for you!

Hmmm that kind of makes me want an HSG now too, it doesn't sound too terrible - and I want that baby so badly also.

Ugh! Today is the fourth in a row I've woken up two hours before the time to take my temperature. Since you're supposed to have at least three hours of sleep beforehand, I can't take my temperature.
So I guess I'll start taking it when I wake up early and might have to use that as my chart. Hoping my body will just sort itself out as I really need to see how my body behaves this cycle!

Has anyone heard of not taking vitex and clomid together? I just ordered some on amazon and now I'm finding stuff that you're not supposed to. Argh!

MnGmakes3,
I have heard it's not a good idea to take vitex while on clomid. I wouldn't do it cause I'd feel like it would only confuse my body more.

So I had my follicle scan done this morning. I'm waiting on a call back from the dr. Hopefully it's good news. The ultrasound tech mentioned that she had "so many to choose from" so hopefully that's a good sign!
