Anyone trying for #2 around cd 4?

It's during the meal when I can't drink wine that they will notice. There's not much I can do about that bit. Later on I can easily pretend to drink! I'll just lie, they will suspect but not much I can do.

I'm jealous fleur, last time I had my scan just before Xmas so we could tell people over Xmas! This time it will be early January. X

I don't drink wine either, or coffee! lol I am so not a grown up!

I always have a big glass of water during weddings. Can you have both an alcoholic drink and a water, and if anyone queries it say you are pacing yourself? The driving trick is also a good one.

Also Fleur I'm with you on the twin thing. My OH is a fraternal twin. I have cousins who are twins, my mum had cousins who were twins, my great grandmother had two sets of twins.... At every level on my side and every two on OH's side there are twins. A very scary possibility we might have some too! Now I have done the newborn thing I wouldn't like to make it doubly difficult and childcare for 3 would probably make returning to work impossible.

Oh my goodness notnic!!! The thing is, I wouldn't have minded twins first time around and would've then left it at that - its the prospect of twins after having a singleton! The likelihood is very very slim but still! You hear these horror (!!) stories about people with three kids who go for a fourth and end up with twins! Yikes!!!!!

The other tricks with not drinking - pretend you're hungover (!); say lo is poorly and you're knackered; antibiotics? Personally - if any of my friends who normally drink came up with any of these I would be massively suspicious!! Occupational hazard of being a lush I guess!! ;-)

Yep. I'm already easing out my drinking now in preparation. Sometimes having a lot and sometimes nursing one glass so there's not a massive change in my drinking habits. Hard though when I want to savour the drinking opportunities :)

Yeah I cut down to ttc both times too. As you say, hard when you don't know if it will be your last drinking session!!

Loving all the tricks regarding drinking.
Im CD20 and hoping to OV soon (CD24 last month) even if im too ill to DTD i want to know that its still happening!
:dust:

Yeh my friends will see right through any of those! Can't drive as we live hours away and are staying over at the venue, I'd always have 1 or 2 even if I was on antibiotics or ill. I'll just have a glass and keep getting up with Freya and tutting it down somewhere! X

I think that's a good plan mrs w! Perhaps your hubby could surreptitiously drink it whilst you're busy with dd so it looks like its going down! I saw some friends for brunch a few wknds ago and I normally love tea but am avoiding it now... Anyway I just said yes please to the tea and then 'forgot' about it as I played with dd and just let it go cold! I don't know if it worked!!!

I think that will work Mrs W. Also if your daughter's there I don't think you'd be expected to be drinking a lot.

Fleur my OH has one elder brother and there's just over 17mths between them - the same age my son is. I couldn't imagine having 2 newborns to care for as well as him right now. 3 under 18mths is my kind of a nightmare! :)

Yes three under 18 months is not good. Tbh 3 under any age is not great IMO!!!

How was everyone's weekends? Any updates??

We went for lunch today with my family and told them - they weren't surprised! But they were happy ;-) my dd is normally so restless when we go for a meal but she was an absolute darling today - I felt so proud :-)

Hope to see some bfps here very very soon...

Xx

I am the odd ball out, would LOVE twins ha ha ha But yeah after already having children in the family, that seems daunting!

Aww exciting Fleur, how many weeks are you now?

We had a lovely time at the wedding and no one noticed I wasn't drinking !! Result! I held 1 or 2 in my hand and then put them down somewhere or gave to hubby so people saw me with a drink. So pleased I got away with that :-)

Yay to bfps, where is everyone in their cycle now?

Lol I think I'm also the odd ball out along with Castaway as I too would love to have twins :-D Doesn't run in mine or my partner's families though :-(

Lol Mrs W to the trick of holding a glass :-) I'm quite partial to the odd glass of red and remember craving it a lot before I had my lo lol.

I'm cd 16 now and into the 2ww yet again. We managed to do every other day on highs this month and my first peak (I missed my second peak again as I wasn't feeling well). Fingers crossed we caught a sticky bean. Everyone around us is due with a second at the min so can't wait to join everyone in the near future. Baby dust to u all x

Haha you two are oddballs!!!!! Mrs w I'm 8w 5d now - every day counts right??? How about you?? I got my booking appt sorted - it's the same week as my scan! Arghhh! So 3 weeks to wait! 3 weeks normally seems so close but right now it feels like forever! How many weeks are you?? Do you have scan/booking appt??

That's brill no one noticed you weren't drinking - hurrah!

Twinks - sounds like you covered the bases well! Last high and first peak are the important ones to get it done I've heard! Keeping fingers crossed for you.

Castaway - did you do more tests? Any update??

Baby dust to all and sundry xx

Hi ladies :)

I am going for blood test on Wednesday....my pregnancy tests are still positive at 5 weeks. I think they may have gotten darker actually sooooo going for bloods to see if it is left over hormone or if we have a bean in the oven. Fingers crossed for a healthy little rainbow or two :haha: If it is leftover hormone 4 1/2 weeks later I am an HCG machine!

Ooh castaway - keeping all fingers and toes crossed for you. Will you get the results there and then?

I wouldn't have thought you would get a positive opk if there was still part of the previous pregnancy remaining so feeling very hopeful for you! Keep us updated xx

Ah fingers crossed for you Castaway!! Let us know as soon as you know the results. I really hope it's a BFP for u xxx
