April Mummies 2011

Sorry about your cousins baby emmy, hope he pulls through. :hugs:

DD slept 9 - 4.30 again last night. She woke up at 8 and I just listened to her chatting away before I went and got her bottle. She hasn't cried for her bottle at 8 the last 2 mornings so I'm guessing she's not waking up crazy hungry. It meant she was happy to watch her mobile while I went to the loo in peace for a change!

I bought a new playmat for her with a tummy pillow. She's starting to get used to it and we had no tears yesterday while she had tummy time. It was a first!

Emmy - hope hes turns out to be ok xxx thinking of you xxx

Ive had the day from hell.
After 10 months of not even a kiss I finally got some hanky panky... only for my dad to walk in on us. Hes threatening to kick me out so if he does that Ill be fucking homeless.
I think him walking in has put the lad Ive been seeing off.
So not only will I be homeless Ill also be very lonely except for having Ollie.
And to top it all off FOB has been in touch giving me tons of shit after 9 weeks of not giving a flying fuck.

Its no fucking wonder I have stomach ulcers with all this shitty ass stress! Argh.

emmy's i hope your cousins baby is ok :hugs:

gem..ahh...say sorry to your dad and grovel! don't wanna end up homeless hun :hugs:

wow its hot today! sticky too, eugh! also my baby's become a pooing machine again :S, changed 5pooey nappies already today, whats that all about!?! its gone back to the consistency of when he was a newborn too, whereas we were having much less regular but thicker poos...

Emmy - hope everything turns out well :hugs:

Gem - cringe! But your dad can't be too mad for too long. You are an adult so are allowed to do that sort of thing!!!

Caro - it's been a lot cooler here today. Thankfully! It's a lot cooler in Rex's room tonight. I was so worried about him overheating.

Can't believe Rex is 10 weeks old tomorrow! It's going v quickly. I was in the nursing room at Mothercare today & there were 2 other ladies in there with me, one with a 3 week old & one with a 2 week old. I couldn't believe how small they were! Don't think Rex was ever that teeny! But then I'm also looking forward to him being able to do more. Can't wait for him to be crawling around!

I CAN wait for the crawling lol but only because Jake drops everything on the floor and even if I Hoover, she'll no doubt come across something to stuck in her mouth!!
But it is great fun when they begin to do more crawling and cruising etc I am looking forward to weaning her! I did at 17 weeks with Jake but he was downing botles so was more than ready. I'll play it by ear this time too.

Morning everyone, hope you all had a good night.

LO had a bottle at 6.45 last night and then was grouchy so I decided maybe she was telling me she was ready for bed, this was at about 8. She'd slept a fair amount yesterday but still...

Anyway, I decided rather than risk her waking for an extra night feed, I'd top her up when I went to bed. She normally has 6oz bottles so I made up a 3oz to try her with. Last time I tried a dreamfeed she either didn't take it or threw it up (this was weeks ago). She took the whole lot at 10.30 and went down fine.

Then she woke at 3.30 for another 6oz bottle & went back down - awake :dohh: She woke up some time after 7 when DH got up, and she was cooing away so we left her to it to see what she did. She didn't make a fuss as it got to 7.55 so I went in, changed her and then gave her her 6oz bottle, which she's left about 20ml of. She didn't really cry for it.

I don't understand why she's gone from waking at 4.30 after a bottle at 9 to waking at 3.30 after a 10.30 bottle?!?!

Emmy I hope you have good news on your cousins baby and gem that you have sorted things with your dad.

Because babies are bonkers and make no sense :D

Right ladies, I need to lose weight! Am going to start when pickle is 3 months old. Got to stop eating everything in sight!

I need to step up my weight loss... Think I'm heading for a plateau :(

Anyone been to the new parents group yet? Its mine and Tobys first day today but I feel rotten and he's being super niggly and I'm not sure I can mingle with new people. I get anxious in social situations :(

Eurgh I'm a zombie. Somebody please help me get my child to sleep for longer than 3 & half hours! 10 weeks on & it's taking it's toll. Can you actually die from exhaustion?! Cos I think I might!

I'm still avoiding the scales bur I know it's bad news. Was a size 12 when got pregnant but had slimmed down from a 14 for our wedding & managed to keep most off. Now even my size 14 jeans won't quite fasten! Had to buy some 16s just to see me through. If I had more sleep I'd be back to exercising by now but I'm too knackered.

Aw hun :hugs: are you still BFing?
I've got the opposite at the mo... Toby only wakes once at night but he only has 1 proper nap during the day so I have to constantly entertain him. And during his 5 minute catnaps, I have just enough time to put the laundry on or wash a couple of dishes before he wakes up again. Today his morning nap lasted long enough for me to put on a bra, knickers and top. But not trousers!

Yep still BFing. I know that doesn't help with the sleeping but part of me thinks if I switch he'll still not sleep & I'll regret it. Gonna stick it out til he gets his tongue tie looked at & if they don't snip it I'll def be switching to FF.

At least Rex will (now!) sleep in the day. He has at least one 2 hour nap & a couple of 45 min ones. The problem is I have to resist laying down & sleeping too otherwise I'd not even get showered! I still think I'd prefer more nighttime sleep though!

I agree whether yOu BF or FF, babies go through the night when they want to! Jake was FF went through at 9 weeks, Amelia BF slept through at 9 weeks. Maybe its genetic as I was the same at 9'weeks? Who knows.

I cnt be arsed to get dressed today, so I'm walking rOund in just underwear lol! Must look a right mess.
As for weight loss, I think it is going slowly, I haven't weighed myself and clothes don't fel that much different, I can't stop snacking though! So hungry all the time!

Toby is being a pain in the bum. Trying to feed him but he keeps squirming and looking around... But screaming every time he does it because the teat comes out of his mouth. I'm getting so frustrated I'm close to tears and want to scream. Might not bother with new parent group. Really font want to leave the house. Feel like I'm doing everything wrong and I'll look awful in front of the other mums.

so i know you ladies arent doing so great and i hated hearing about babies sleeping when mine wasnt, but...abby slept from 7-6!! holy buckets!! shes been sick tho im sure thats why

YAY for all the sleeping babies! Ava slept from 8-5..then ate and back down till almost 8! It was definitely what i needed!

After a couple rough nights, Isis has slept from 8:30-3:30 the past 2 nights! I think it's because she doesn't really nap at school. She takes 3 30 minutes naps there. I'm sure she'll get used to the noise eventually. What is a little concerning is she only took 3 oz of milk yesterday while at school. I fed her at lunch and she took both breasts. I've always known that she far prefers breasts over bottles but my concern is that she'll wait for me to show up at lunch and then wait to be picked up. I guess it's not the worst thing in the world but I don't want to spend my entire evening feeding my baby. Yesterday I fed her from about 5:30 to 8 every hour.
The positive side of this is I would still pump and donate the milk. I already don't use OTC medications and it would definitely be 12 hours since drinking alcohol if I have a drink in the evening.
I need to lose more weight too! My pre-pregnancy clothes are laughing at me in the closet  I'm 3 sizes from those clothes. It should be easier now that I'm at work and have limited access to food plus DH and I decided it was time to clean up our diet so no more fatty foods in the house. I'm also hoping to start running in a couple weeks.
gotta run, time to pump...

I agree whether yOu BF or FF, babies go through the night when they want to! Jake was FF went through at 9 weeks, Amelia BF slept through at 9 weeks. Maybe its genetic as I was the same at 9'weeks? Who knows.

Well if it's really genetic then I'm royally screwed! Both me & DH were little sh*ts as babies by all accounts. Apparently I was a b*tch to get to sleep but would sleep soundly once they got me down (my parents eventually let me CIO but not until 18 months - they deserve a medal!) whereas DH went to sleep ok but constantly woke. We appear the have produced a child with both our worst features! This is karma!

Had to take Rex to docs this aft. He has an eye infection :-( His eye was all red & swollen & watery this morning. Thought he'd scratched it with his flailing arms but it didn't go away so rung docs. He has an eye infection so have drops for him. Bless him.

I thought BFing was meant to prevent babies getting ill?! He's had a cold & eye infection & he's only 10 weeks old!

Hope your cousins baby will be ok Emmys, keep up updated.

Yay for the sleeping babies, Sazzle your time will come and Rex will soon show you he can STTN.

George wakes up anytime between 2.30 and 4 for a feed after going to bed around 8pm and then he usually gets up at 8am but the last couple of days he has been waking up at 6am for a feed and will only go back to sleep till 8 if he is in our bed. My mum told me that when i was a baby i was bf till i was 9 months and used to slee all the time, my nan used to worry that there was something wrong with me lol.

So there are a few of us that need to loose our baby weight, it's crap isnt it,i still cant get into my size 12 jeans :( i bought a pair of 14's from Dorothy Perkins and today i went to New look and bought another pair of jeans but the 14's were to tight, i'm sure i dont look like a 16 but i had to by 16's. Wierd how sizes vary so much from different shops.
We shouldnt worry to much as are babies are still so young :)

I look at it this way, she's exclusively breastfed and def not sleeping through the night. Yesterday she actually fed every 2 hours day and night.
She just needs her mommy, even if it's tiring , it's such a relatively short period in life and I'm giving her the best booby milk :)

I think whilst yes BF babies are later to STTN it's so dependent on the baby themselves that you just have to wait until theyre ready to do it for themselves :) Enjoy the cuddles, it won't be long till they're a teenager who grunts and won't come anywhere near you!

Pickle has been either asleep, eating or SHOUTING today, it's been very tiring :( But she's in bed now and I hope it's just part of the growing thing (she's 12 weeks on Saturday so slap bang in a growth/development period) so I'm biting my tongue and being very thankful that my OH is around to help me out - I couldn't have done today on my own.
