***April Sweet Peas*** 204 Babies

I'd bet they can sense the changes in you...not only in looks with the bump but predominantly in smell. I'm sure they can smell the hormones (and other bodily smells) that are different to usual.

I'm thinking along the same lines... My neighbour's cat only ever wants to sit on her lap etc when she's pregnant and a week before her BFP this time round the cat suddenly started showing an interest in sitting with her!! I think they just know :)

OK, time for more ranting... Sorry guys :(

When I saw my totally useless consultant on 26 March he told me he wanted to see me at 41+4 (if we are still pregnant) for a possible induction. He said he would get a letter in the post to us ASAP with the appointment time etc. (We will be 41+4 on 7 May) Then today I get a letter from him to say he's booked us in to see him on 14 May, when we will be 42+4... ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!! They don't even let you go that far over with your first baby, let alone after a previous C-Sec. The bloke is a complete idiot!!

Anyway, after making about 7 phone calls to various places (because there was no contact number on the letter I was sent!!!!) I've finally been given a number to call on Monday to book in for an elective C-Sec (between 40-41 weeks) instead of being induced... BUT they can only book it for me if they have my notes back from the consultant by Monday, as he hasn't returned them since I saw him last!

Just so annoyed that even after checking all the dates with us he's managed to totally cock up the dates... How difficult is it to read the notes which he made to then book us in for the correct date?!?!?! USELESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

Sorry - Just needed to have a moan about that as I'm so wound up about it :(

My female cat (spayed) has hardly left me alone recently either. Had hoped when it started a couple weeks back that it was a sign of something but so far not lol. I have noticed she is certainly more vocal towards me for attention (she is not normally a female attention orientated kitty).

On another side note half a day until due date ...... come on bumpzilla your time is up, the ding is due to dong on your baking

Sooooo glad my community MW refused to let this pg be consultant led, even though I had to see one once because of an asthma flare up.

Last pg I was given some patches to bring me down off of pg hormones slowly due to terrible undiagnosed PND 1st time around. One thing stupid consultant didnt think to ask or anyone else was if I was planning on breastfeeding, so low and behold Mia lost more weight than they would have liked to the point MW sent me to hospital with her, which is where we discovered she was not getting enough food. Read the full leaflet with the patches and found out that in very small print on the back for all of one line "not to use if breastfeeding". MW went mad and all but stormed out of house with sheet when she found out..

As I don't thankfully have any rants about this pg I thought I would continue the one from 2 years ago hehe

Hi KittenKat - Sounds like all consultants are useless then :( How stupid of them to prescribe something which should have made life a little easier for you, only for it to make things more difficult. Surely they should of been more aware of the side affects?!?! Bloody useless :(

The consultant I saw this time around for all of 10 minutes bless him looked at my notes and could hardly believe I had been prescribed them to the point he had to take a breath, excuse himself for a moment then said "what a load of hooey" could see he wanted to actually have a bit of a rant about it.

I see you are in Somerset, where about because who knows it could be the same guy who is a useless space waster hehe

Congratulations bubbella!!

Well we're almost looking ready now, I've ordered the cot mattresses and a new mattress for our bed which are both being delivered next friday! We'll leave our bed mattress until I come home from hospital - just in case my waters break in bed!! Mind you, that would be a good way of getting another new mattress as our insurance would cover that and it's a new for old policy.. We've also picked up our new car yesterday too, it's lovely - a ford focus estate, lots of room for both car seats and is very very comfy! I've ordered the last few bits I need from amazon and also ordered a liner for a birth pool today - my friend is lending me her birth pool in a box so I've just ordered a new liner for it and we're good to go!

All getting close and exciting now! Mind you, this is a good thing, I am in so much pain now it's unreal and am really really really struggling to do anything at all now outside of the house.. But still - 4 weeks today i will be having my elective section if she hasn't turned up and hopefully as it's only 17 days til my due date she won't keep me waiting much longer than that!

Baby Alexander Maxwell Chase was born 6/4/10 weighing 7lbs 0.5oz!!

Congratulations bubbella & Vicyi!!!

You poor girls have had some bad luck with consultants, huh?
Everything's been trucking along nicely for me. Stinky is no longer engaged... which I'm actually quite happy about as it was getting Very uncomfortable!
Only THREE more sleeps till my section! I'm starting to get a little nervous about it. Last time was absolutely fine, but it was after I'd been in labour for a while, and my epidural had stopped working and I was pretty out of it... This time I'll be much more aware of what's going on and I'm finding it a little daunting!
The other thing is that I've just found out that they might be doing it at 1pm... which is about the same time OH will be finishing work! We thought it was going to be 2, which would give him plenty of time to get there. If they come to take me at 1 I think I'll have to tell them to take someone else first. :(
(OH can't get time off work - he's just started a new job and it's school holidays so they are already short-staffed)

I'm sure it'll be OK.

I shall try and reply, but fear it may not work!

Firstly consultants pregnancy or whatever are all shits to be honest, they tend to put themselves about everyone else. Mine tried to prescribe me aspirin for bp at abt 26 weeks, never mind the BIG CAPITAL announcement on front stating I'm allergic to it! imbescile! Then when went down to get my prescription this wasn't my consulatant just a consultant from somewhere, and he was shouting at the pharmacist cos she didn't have a product in stock, and when she said they'd never stocked it he called her a liar and demanded to see the pharmacist who obviously had more things to do, and then went on about how he's a consultant and he knows he brought this product from there previously! Anyway the pharmacist told the consultant they had never stockled that product and the consultant still insisted they were all liars. I cldn't believe it, I actually said "bloody consultants think theyr'e so far above everyone else." I don't know if he hear or not, BUT honestly I was disgusted!

Anyway I'm sorry to hear your all having a pants time. Today my bump has really hurt, but it's not contractions it's muscular and I'm sure it's cos everything had to do a major stretch again! It's been really painful!

Congratulations Vicyi!

Today I have gone into mental nesting overdrive and am finding it extremely frustrating that I can't do anything! DH painted the bathroom yesterday so I have written a list of accessories we need for it, which I want to go and get tomorrow but he has pointed out that I wont be able to carry any of it back on crutches and a taxi won't pick up from that road as there is no where to stop. I have mentally planned how I want the lounge and bedroom decorated, stuck on the nursery though.

I think you ladies are right about cats actually. Minnie was very similar around when I got my BFP, then when I had some bleeding early on but mostly has been her same old self which means quite independent despite being a house cat, although she does like
male attention (much like her owner! :haha: ).

Sunflowers, well done on finally ordering those last bits!

I can't believe some of those consultant stories! DH dreamt that my consultant changes his mind and refuses to induce me despite being favourable, cue me checking my notes and he did put in there in large writing "IOL @ 38 weeks due to severe SPD if favourable.".

hey ladies! so got my c-section scheduled for next thursday, yep he's going to be a tax day baby!! lol, just can't wait for him to be here, woohoo!!!

Hey GLitz, your getting induced at 38 weeks! Bloody lucky thing, my consultant seriously fobbing me off I think waiting until 39 weeks, I'd hoped for 38 weeks but no such luck! SO whens your date then? sorry if you told us already?
