I think im there!!

Went to bed with cramps, and was woken up with contractions. Started off every half hour, then down to every 15, struggled to get comfy so had a bath. Got to every 10.

Taking paracetamol, which helps. so inbetween im feeling quite normal, but the contractions do hurt a bit!

Midwife was coming over anyway to monitor BP, so she said she would still come and let me know how i was getting on! So she will be hear in about an hour!

Knowing my luck its nothing!

But fingers crossed its LABOUR!!!

Gah I keep telling OH 'we'll be DTD tonight' and one of us falls asleep before we get a chance. Feel a bit bad getting mad at him for falling asleep when I only wanna do it to get the baby out! Haha

I'll catch up on the last two pages a bit later, but just wanted to rant about my doctor appointment today. We were waiting 2 hours for it all to be done, and I saw other women who came well after me being called in and leaving before I got called! I've no idea why really, but I did complain and they confirmed my file was there and ready to be seen, so just had to wait it out.

Anyway, I did get seen eventually and she asked if I wanted an internal or wait for next week as I'll be having one then. I wanted to know what was happening down there so I asked her to check. She said my cervix was firm and closed, though baby is 4/5 engaged now. I asked if she would expect this to be the case a week before my due date, and she said no, that she would expect my cervix to be a bit more favorable at this point, so she thinks I might go overdue based on that.

So I was wondering if anyone else had experienced something like that and generally, thoughts on the timing of the cervix becoming favorable, etc?

An update re Sunflowers.

She was allowed home but has gone straight back in again due to her BP.

Minstermind - that length of time at the doctors sucks. Sorry I've no idea RE the timing for a favourable cervix etc.

Wow..2 hours for your appointment? I'd be fuming. I have no clue on the cervix thing either. Sorry

With Sunflowers BP problems, I'm wondering why they don't induce her since she's 39 weeks. Either way I sure hope her BP gets in check and her and the baby do fine!

congrats all nw mummies
still no baby for me. have been in hospital 2 nnights and induction has failed so section for me later today

Bp labile overnight but up again this again this morning.. Waiting on team to come on round to review. Hoping they'll section me today or tomorrow, they won't induce because of previous section and there's nothing in my pelvis at all so they won't do a sweep. I've had an awful night with noisy patients whose relatives were still here until 1am in one bed, 1:30 in another and 2 in the other bed. With noise etc I've had less than 2 hours of patchy dozing..

Wait and see what the round brings!

All the best for those who are being induced, are in labour or are waiting for C-Secs... Hope all goes well for everyone.

Congrats to all the new mum/mom's as well.

All went well with midwife yesterday - She's happy with bug's progress and positioning etc. She said bug's no more engaged than last week and my uterus size/height has gone from being half a week ahead to being back where it should be... All in all a good visit, but just got a feeling that bug is going to hang on in there like her big bro, so bring on the C-Sec next Wed

An update from Shinning_Star: "In first thing. Been monitored, baby fine. Had one pessary, 2cm dilated but high and thick. She thinks once pains start and cervix comes down they can take me down to break waters. So who knows really!"

As for me, I got some pains last night, which stopped, again. Waiting on a call from the community mw to see if I can arrange for her to come to me for another sweep, or something.
