Babies that were due in may 2012

Congrats Waves, I hope all goes well.

Bumpin I totally understand your feelings, I hope when you fall pregnant it's the perfect time.

I read somewhere else that their baby has almond milk. Milk is still really important in a baby's diet at this age but if it is a lactose problem in the uk you can buy lactose free milk. I'm still breast feeding Lola morning and night and she has goats milk at other times.

Lola is keeping me busy, she is into everything and great fun! I noticed today she has a top molar tooth coming through, ouchy!

We've switched to Coconut milk this week, as adding the oil just wasn't working in a bottle :( Thankfully G will drink it just as well as the almond. We put a tablespoon of coconut oil on his morning toast now, and just give him the coconut milk, and that makes up the required fat content!

I had a conversation with my sister, and I casually mentioned that DH and I were planning on a second pregnancy. Hopefully if I do fall pregnant in the next few months, it wont be a surprise and that will lessen the drama.

Congrats Waves, I hope all goes well.

Thanks dear!

As for Hannah... pretty sure we've hit the terrible two's already. She's become quite the little snot and loves to throw a tantrum.

Waves we also have tantrums with Lola lol! She couldn't fit something through the stairgate earlier and got so angry that she threw it at full force across the room ha ha!

I can't believe how quickly they change!

Hahah yep, sounds like Hannah.

Well, I started bleeding tonight. No cramping or clots so far but there's been a lot of blood. I was going to go to the ER but I'm only 4w3d so they couldn't do much or tell much on the spot and I'd have to follow up with my doc for bloodwork or another scan anyway so I figured I'd just wait out the night and call my OB in the morning. I work every day for the next week though so my availability for an appointment is very limited so FX they can fit me in around my work schedule.

I know there's so many reasons for early bleeding but I've had a miscarriage before & the cycle before conceiving Hannah, I had a chemical so obviously my body has issues staying pregnant and I just got lucky with my 2 daughters. That being said, I'm pretty confident this isn't going to end well. It sucks and it's so frustrating.

Oh waves, I'm sorry :( sending big hugs t yo an your OH. HoHopefully yyou're abl t get an appointment tthat fits around work
:hugs:

Well I wound up passing a huge clot this morning. Called my doc and got my HCG levels checked. I went to the ER where they did an internal exam and ultrasound. HCG levels are only at a 3 when they should be in the hundreds. They didn't see anything on the ultrasound to indicate an early pregnancy and my cervix as closed. They called it a threatened miscarriage which is ridiculous because that's what it is but they want to repeat a check of my HCG levels on Monday to confirm.

Seems there is some bad news all around.

TTC plans are back on hold indefinitely. As Im sure you all remember, I've had a few concerns with Gabriels development and based on a suggestion from the developmental evaluation I had him put on the wait list for hearing and speech assessments. We went to his appointment for hearing yesterday, and he FAILED part of the test. He has no response to sounds. Not. One. He still needs further testing, they will have him lightly sedated and place electrodes on his head and play sounds into his ear to see if there are brain waves present in response, but they told me its about 75% chance he is totally deaf. From what I've read, with total deafness, a hearing aid wouldn't help as it only amplifies sound, and his problem is that there is a problem somewhere between his ear and brain. He might qualify for a cochlear implant, but they are wicked expensive...like 25 grand EACH.

Obviously I'm jumping a bit ahead of myself. I am hoping that he will be in the 25% that isn't deaf. I'm just so upset, it seems that its been 1 issue after another with my poor monkey and its really not fair. Is having a normal healthy child too much to ask for? So DH and I have decided to wait until we have an idea of what's to come with Gabriel. I don't think its fair to have a newborn if he's going to be busy with specialists and such. For either child.

Thanks.

And I'm sorry to hear your news as well. I can't imagine how you guys must be feeling, let alone how Gabriel is feeling. I hope he falls into that 25% though and it's a best case scenario for the situation. Keep us updated please!

Aw meghan, huge hugs hunny. No words could comfort you. I'm thinking of you guys lots and praying gabe is in the 25%. Keep us updated Hun. Xxx

Meghan, just want you to know I'm thinking of you and of course G. I'm sorry to hear your news but on a positive note in this day and age many, many things can be overcome and achieved and that gorgeous little man of yours will go far 😊

Waves, I am so sorry to hear your news too. Sad times.

Thanks ladies. Means a lot to me. This waiting sucks. I just want answers now.

Meghan - so sorry to hear your news - when is the next appointment? Did you have much of an indication before hand? I hope that it's better news on your next visit and he's in the 25% xxx

I'm still waiting to hear. I got a hold of the booking office at the hospital, they can see him until September, but she is going to try and get him in sooner. she said she would call me by Wednesday to let me know an exact appointment.

Frangi, I've had concerns about Gabriel's development, and in our assessment it was suggested that we get his hearing checked. I do see quite a few indicators that he may have some degree of hearing issues, but I'm not sure I believe he's completely deaf. I just don't know if it's wishful thinking, when I think he can hear me, or just a fluke. When we see the specialist, Gabriel is going to be sedated, and have electrodes placed to see if he has a brain response to sounds.

thanks ladies for your thoughts. I hate waiting for answers

we finally have an appointment with the specialist. September 6th I will final have an answer

how is everyone?

Omg I went back 3 pages cos I had not been in here in ages and so much has happened!
Sorry about your news meghan! I hope your appointment goes well.

Call us mad (and please dont mention on facebook lol) but hubby and I 2 days ago had a big talk about getting my tubes done. It is sonething we want done but we couldnt make that decision as we thought 1 more would be wonderful. So at the end of this year we are trying for one more baby then tubal ligation.
We are working hard to clear the last of our debts. Im going back to work in a few weeks.
We already have names and have decided to stay team yellow.
Anyways we weighed up evrything and made the decision.
Our families think they know whats best for us, even though we never see any of them so we expect a lot if negativity towards our decision which is why no official announcements will be made until we are.
Im really excited about this.

The twins have been great! They caught hand foot and mouth the other week from my sons kindy and that was terrible but everything else has been awesome.
Aria is walking, actually no she runs. Max is still not standing unassisted. He tries and then we think yay! But then he reverts back to what hes comfirtable with. He is such a funny wee thing so timid and sensitive whereas aria is a box of birds. She laughs/chuckles when you tell her off or say no and she is just really quite the full on party girl.

Rest of the family is great. My oldest is 13 this year and the teen dramas have started my goodness!!

Least you have a date now Meghan, sorry you have to wait so long though!! Always thinking of you!

Amie that's great! So exciting!! I was sorting through the newborn clothes the other day and I'll admit it made me a bit broody. I'm not ready for another one yet though so it'll still be a while but I'm almost sure I want another at some point now.

Ashlynn still isn't moving or standing on her own but I'm sure she will when she is ready. She's quite a handful, she wants to be walking everywhere but he has to hold onto my hands to do it so I'm constantly walking around with her! It's hard work! I'd much prefer if she crawled but she won't even try!!!
