so i am freaking out because it seems to be getting worse before it gets better.

what I am hoping is that some of you could post pics of your babies acne so I could compare and settle down.

I went to the nurse yesterday and she said it was acne but I just need to feel better about it.

also, any care suggestions?

Thanks...here are my boos pics

My LO has a little acne around his mouth but my neice had it worse. I'm no expert but those pictures look like it's more severe than I've seen before. Of course, if the nurse said it was fine than I would trust their expert opinion. I'd go back or get a second opinion if it gets worse or doesn't go away soon. Poor baby!

As far as I know there's no treatment for baby acne because we're not supposed to put anything harsh on their skin, especially face.

Hi my little girl had it just like your little one has- quite severe.

Doc prescribed hydrocortisone cream 0.5% as he said it was inflamed, and probably a little sore- it disappeared within 2-3 days- so might be worth considering.

Jasmine had it too, but it only lasted a couple weeks. I found that switching to tide free laundry detergent made a huge difference.

Hi Jaylene!
Congrats on your baby!
Simon had bad acne, too, and I use only super fragrance-free, no chemical anything stuff on him and his laundry. Alberta is really dry and that can make skin conditions worse, I've heard. Don't worry about it at all.
I will admit to photoshopping one of Simon's pics when his acne was really bad. What a terrible mother, eh? :)

Actually that is what Helena's face looked like.
This is everything I did:
Only use cotton clothes and blankets.
Use that Tide Free or Ivory Snow. Do an extra rinse if you can.
Bathe every day with some olive oil in the water.
Cover body with Vaseline before bed every day.

I first got rid of it with that hydrocortisone cream that the other person mentioned. You can only use a very small amount though and not for long. You do need a prescription though.

Amelies was a lot worse. It's totally went at 6weeks so worry not! Her skin is baby perfect again :)

could be that your wee one has sensative skin too :(

Elinor has been seeing specialists and they have said she has eczma. I suffered real bad as a child and in teen yrs it deveolped into psoriatic arthritis. I am hoping that this will not b the case for my wee cherub!

Good luck with everything tho!

xxx

Larissa has something similar, Doc said its normal between 6 and 12 weeks and to just bath in plain water not use soap unless ness.

Edward is pretty similar. Our baby Dr suggested making a face wash using Chamomile tea. Seems to be keeping it under a bit better control. we wash his face with the homemade face wash 2x a day.
