Birth Control After Pregnancy

I've decided I'll take the risk of no contraception after Keziah is born, she was planned, and I want 3 more so I feel contraception in my case is pointless; besides the doc has told me I cannot go on the pill because it'll have adverse effects, I cannot have a IUD because I have a high risk of utopic pregnancy and my DF cannot use latex condoms because he's allergic, and I want kezzy to have little brothers and sisters.

I'm on the Mirena Coil. I've had no problems with it apart from some random bleeding at the start I got pregnant on the pill so I'm not looking to go on that any time soon. it's also been known that once the coil is taken out your fertility stays the same so if me and OH did TTC then we would hopefully conceive pretty fast!

I had really bad health problems during pregnancy that both me + LO could have died from! I was taking the combined pill + they think that + pregnancy caused the condition so they've said no to the CP, depo injection, implant and some other things. I was on the mini pill but was making me depressed + I had a constant bleed for 2 months. Some things may suit one person but not another

Im from England and before pregnancy ( well when i didnt know i was pregnant) I got this thing called the implant ( not sure what that is in America) and if i hadnt been pregnant before had this would of been perfect for me! the side effects arent that bad and some people have none, unfortunately because im breastfeeding ive been told i cant have it untill i stop doing so, so id say condoms untill LO is here and finished feeding! X

i plan to breastfeed so contraception would already be restricted anyway..
but having talked to the OH recentlyy were guna wait till LO is around 6 months and properly try for baby number 2 so until then we will be NTNP

I'm really scared of getting pregnant again after having this LO.. I do want more babies but not for a few years yet! I'm also a bit wary of hormonal contraception because a lot of my friends have experienced weight gain hard to shift from them and I don't want to end up stuck with my baby weight :/

If I had it my way me and OH would use condoms but he, like a lot of men, does not like them whatsoever. He's agreed we can use them but I'd feel bad soo I'll probably just have to see how the Pill or something works out for me. xx

I was on micro-lite pill when i got pregnant but it was because i was stupid and took anti biotics on it thinking it would be fine.
Im going to get the injection when baby is here because that works for 5 months and I dont want to go on the pill again as it can effect your weight and i want to loose all my baby weight soon.

its not even a form of contraception it just being careless
ive never done it & never will :/

ive been looking into the injections the ones you have every 3 months
i caught on the pill so i wont be going back on that
i thought about the implant but it doesnt look like a pleasent thing to have done

I loved the Mirena IUD! worked perfectly for me for almost 5 years... and no period for 3 of them. It was the best.

My oh HATES condoms, I had the implant but have got a big scar from when it got removed so that has put me off! Don't like taking the pill as i always forget to take it at the right time etc. So might look at the coil when i have had the baby but seems like quite and old person contraceptive!

I was on the implant but got it taken out to go back on the pill.. Deffo getting the implant again!

Implant most likely. Although I want to try for another baby when Oakley is about a year old so if I still feel the same when Oakley's actually here then i might look into the injections or something that isn't so long term.

Make sure the person who puts your implant in and takes it out, knows what they are doing. The bitch that did mine couldn't get it out, so she had to cut it more and she still coudn't get it! She said that i need to have an ultrasound on my arm to locate it which is stupid as you can feel were it is! So i had to go back a week later and a different woman did it from the other end.

And it has scarred badly!

But apart from that it was a good contraceptive!

Since most of us are pretty young and won't be interested in having another child for at least a little while I just wondered what kinds of birth control you girls had thought of/are going to use after the birth of your baby?

I'm not entirely sure yet since I wasn't on anything when I got pregnant just using condoms but obviously they break so I'm looking at other alternatives. Thing is I'm so paranoid of using condoms now that I feel like I'd rather rely on something else. I haven't really looked into anything besides the pill and I'm kind of interested in the shot they do and the IUD's.

Thats a pretty big assumption lol!

I will be going on the pill after my 2nd arrives, i didn't go on anything after my daughter because i didn't wanna mess up my cycles, but after number 2 we are gunna wait a while for number 3.
