Has Rowan been ok with peanut butter?

I've been wary of giving it because she is CMPI and they say to be wary if there is other allergies but I eat peanut butter daily (such a good replacement of real butter on toast!)

If there is a history of peanut allergies, avoid pb until one year. Other than that, you should be fine :)

Yep, Rowan is fine with peanut butter... I have to say I was wary what with his milk allergy and everything but it is good for protein and fat (which he needs) and as he is limited in other respects I wanted to try him with it. Made sure it was in the middle of the day and I had no other plans so I could deal with it if he did react.

Yesterday he had...

Breakfast: Wheaty biscuit soaked in oat milk; melon and tinned peaches
Snack: Little piece of kiwi
Lunch: Eggy bread, strawberries
Snack: Iced banana
Dinner: Cod fillet, mashed sweet potato with spinach, steamed carrot sticks

...and today...

Breakfast: Porridge fingers made with oat milk and a little mashed banana; melon
Snack: A left over porridge finger!
Lunch: Sardine sandwich on white bread, carrot and cucumber sticks
Snack: A dried fig
Dinner: Yellow pepper drop scone, tinned peaches

Thanks for that Bluehorse, I think I'll give it a shot, like you say it's hard to find spreads and fillings that are high in protein and fat other than dairy.

Today:

Breakfast - prune porridge made with kara coconut milk

Lunch - avocado filled pita and mango sliced

Dinner - sirloin steak, homemade potato wedges, grilled tomato, some orange juice ice lolly.

We've only just started weaning but LO has been getting to know food (though not eating it) for a couple of weeks. Today she was on OH's lap and he had a corn cob from the barbecue in his hand. She leaned forward, grabbed it and slurped away happily for a good 20 minutes. Hilarious! x

After a carbs heavy day, then a day of not eating much, today ds had:

B - toast with butter and jam, half custard pot
L - one finger of egg mayonnaise sandwich, baby corn
D - red lentil and vegetable curry (BLW cookbook of course :) ) loved this! Ate okra (first for all of us) cauliflower, broccoli, half new potato, courgette strip, daddy's homemade coriander flatbreads and the sauce :)

Almost bought weetabix in the shops today....but still can't quite face the clean up! :D

We started BLW about 6 months ago but we're just getting into the swing of it now. I'm finding the cooking quite difficult as I never used to bother much before, I'd just eat a bit of toast for lunch if I couldn't be bothered to cook. It's hard trying to think of different things to have.

Today LO had
B - banana
L - lentil soup, cucumber sticks, left over chick pea patties (from BLW cook book)
D - fish, mushed up peas, peach

...and today...

Do you have a recipe for the yellow pepper drop scones - they sound yummy!

We have been BLW for 2 months now and this thread is so helpful, I just want to thank everyone who has posted here for the ideas and inspiration! And to share:

Yesterday:

B: Yogurt with strawberries
L: Chicken cacciatore
The recipe is from the BBC website: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4251/chicken-cacciatore

and I added mushroom halves when frying the onion and garlic.
I also served it with orzo pasta boiled to oblivion - LO struggles if the pasta is not supersoft.
The tomato sauce makes it all very messy but LO loved it.
D: Toast with philadelphia

Today:
B: Apricots
L: Grilled courgette strips served with garlic and dill yogurt dip.
Baby has a funny garlic smell about him now. I love the look at my MIL's face every time she gets a sniff at him :haha:

Yesterday we had:

B -Weetabix & Banana
L - Picnic of Dairylea sandwiches, rice cakes, banana and the flake from my ice cream
D - Tunamayo pasta with cheese sandwiches and cucumber & fruit pot with yogurt coated raisins.

Breakfast: rice crispies, nectarine & strawberries
Lunch: jacket potato with cheese and salad, yoghurt
Dinner: tuna & sweetcorn pasta, tomatoes. Will have fruit after
