BLW - what did your LO eat today?

I also eat whatever Bun doesn't (which is most of what I offer - oops!)

But yesterday I made Bun some oat apple banana pancakes! He sampled them right away, so we are getting somewhere! Woo!

Today Kyle had (well, played and gummed with) :

B - porridge pancakes, toast with yoghurt (as he won't eat it off the spoon) and mango
L - eggy bread (went down a treat), parnsip (he loves) and swede

Just offering 2 meals a day at the moment. Will probably up it to 3 meals in the next week or so.

B: yoghurt, cantaloupe, refused mini weetabix
L: home-made mushroom soup, celery sticks, toasted pancake, banana
D: home-made pizza, little slirp of ice cream :D

Today was the first day I offered soup and it was difficult to say the least. I ended up spooning some of it into his mouth as he couldn't get any in and was getting very frustrated. Was almost tempted to put some of it into his doidy cup!! So if anyone has any tips? Maybe I should just make it thicker next time?

You could dunk bread in and get it nice and soupy then let him pick up the bread

Ooh yea I never thought of that! I have leftovers for tomorrow so I'll try it then :)

Today Thomas had:

B: Ready brek (didn't eat much), a full banana

S: Two mini ricecakes

L: Full slice of cheese on toast, tinned pineapple ring, a few raisins, some natural yoghurt with fruit spread

D: Fish pie (ate all the mashed potato, chewed and spat out most of the fish), broccoli, refused satsuma

Jenny - I tend to make soups very thick so that they stick to the spoon but I also give him some of it with bread or toast.

Nursery give G chunky veg soup - he picks the big pieces out & the rest is soaked up with bread

Yay Sun, it's great that Bun is starting to try things for you :)
Today Jacob had
B - cheese on toast and kiwi fruit
S - 2 plum baby spelt fingers
L - crackerbread (2 slices) with houmous, tomato and cucumber, a little nibble of an apple slice think it was too hard for him as he's teething at the minute
D - garlic and herb mini chicken fillet, wedges and roasted courgettes, some melon, strawberry and yoghurt

Ruby had...

Breakfast - big bowl of shreddies and an innocent fruit tube
Lunch - homemade burger and potato wedges, ella's fruit smoothie (she's obssessed with smoothies!) tried a homemade chocolate brownie, and I'm actually pleased to say she HATED it
Dinner - 1 scrambled egg (all eaten), honey on toast, half a plum biscuit, pear

Thanks for the replies about using cows milk with cereal/porridge. I will give it a try.

Today Tom had,
B - 2 teapsoons of baby porridge, sucked/gummed a piece of toast with primula spread.
L - half a apple and ginger baby cookie and 2 apple slices were sucked to death.
D - some toast with Ella's kitchen puree (butternut squash, apple, prune and carrot!) and another half a baby cookie. He screamed when I tried to put the puree on a spoon but gobbled it down spread on toast!

and I really need to stop finishing off the left overs or bits that he drops.

Not a very good day today :(

B: was OK - 1 handful of shreddies
S: half a slice of carrot cake, some raisins - still not too bad...
L: half a large ricecake with tuna mayo. Also offered but refused, stuffed pasta, grated cheese, malt loaf & raspberries
D: peas, about 2 teaspoons of cottage pie(refused any more  , 2 raspberries, bit of greek yoghurt, couple of raspberries

Its a bit hard not to feel frustrated when he was eating soooo well last week

I owuld love some great pancake recipes if anyone has them, that their LO loves. I too am in need of ideas, this has really been helping me to get into eating healthier as well as LO!!!!

I also need dinner ideas.......

Help!
:)

Bun ate soooooo much today and is really starting to get into the BLW!!!
I know it's not much compared to other people's LOs - haha, but for Bun it is huge!!

B: A few spoons of brown rice porridge
D: A wee piece of lentil burger, and some roasted potato (almost an entire small potato!!!)

This doesn't seem like alot, but it is sooo much more than he has ever eaten! :happydance:

when you say "spoons of rice cereal" do you mean he is using the spoon or you are spoon feeding him? i am just getting into BLW and I am curious about methods. :)

For pancakes I like the recipe here: https://blog.homemade-baby-food-recipes.com/healthy-oatmeal-and-apple-pancakes/
I add chopped apple, blueberries or banana for variety

For dinner, I have been trying to offer whatever we are eating but I have made some finger foods for LO as he has had a slow start with BLW. Things like mini turkey meatloaves, vegetable fritters and dip, lentil burgers spread with mint yogurt, thin crepes rolled around cream cheese and fruit then sliced, or meatballs are all easy finger foods to offer. My LO doesn't like putting his hands in mush (like spaghetti or casseroles) so I need something firm that he can pick up. I also offer sandwiches, avocado & cheese quesadillas, or chunks of fritatta or crustless quiches. You can also make your own healthy fish fingers or chicken nuggets, though I haven't tried this.

xx

I load up the spoon and either hand it to him or put it on the tray. The rice cereal is good because it is sticky and will stay on long enough for him to get it to his mouth. Yogurt takes more skill, but he really loves it so he is more careful lol. When I offer stuff in a spoon, he doesn't eat much though - it is more about the spoon. xx

B: Toasted bagel & dairylea, banana
L: Scrambled egg, little bit of pancake and apple
D: Chicken roast dinner (still doesn't like chicken!). Didn't eat too much of dinner as it was too distracting at my mum's house, and everyone was just staring at him :/

Lunch: veg tart (puff pastry, cheese, tomato, tomato puree and peppers),
.

is this your own recipe? would love to have it !

I just spread a little square of ready rolled puff pastry with tomato puree, sprinkled with a taste of cheese and peppers and popped it in the oven at 190 for about 15-20 mins - very tasty!

B: Ready Brek
L: Baked beans (low salt, low sugar), banana, yoghurt
D: Fusili pasta in a cream sauce with salmon, cantaloupe.
