BLW - what did your LO eat today?

I'm using the natural petit filous as well, and mixing with puree.

Shambaby can you share your chicken goujon recipe!? Glad you love the cookbook too! I want to make the fishfingers but I'm scared of bones in the fish. Have you made them?

haven't tried the fishfingers - i am worried about bones, too, so i made the tuna croquettes instead.

don't have a recipe as such for the goujons, but it is something like this (amounts are a bit of a guesstimate as i didn't measure them):

preheat oven to gas mark 6.
mix together about 50g dried breadcrumbs, finely grated zest of 1 lemon (unwaxed, of course), and some herbs (i used about a tablespoon each of dried rosemary and thyme), and some freshly ground black papper.
cut 2 large chicken breasts into strips, coat them in flour, dip in beaten egg (1 egg was enough), and then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
bake the goujons for about 30 mins (i'm pretty sure they were done before then, but i am very paranoid about chicken and tend to over-cook it!)

this made plenty for all 3 of us (i actually made double the above amount and froze half - i'm on a mission to fill my freezer with proper food as i use up the frozen breast milk, so i won't be tempted to fill it with the processed rubbish we used to eat)

hmm, i feel a recipe sharing thread coming on . . . .

Hi ladies

We're about a week into our BLW journey (although I do cheat with a little TW) and wondered if there was any advice out there as to which are the best yoghurts.

They all seem to have so much sugar in them 

Thanks in advance
Jo xx

got some little yeo's at sainsbury's yesterday - no added sugar! just sweetened with fruit juice. haven't tried them yet, but planning one for lunch i think. they also had rachel's organics, but they were more expensive. also, got some sugar-free jam - st dalfour - which he enjoyed on his porridge fingers this morning

B - Weetbix and cows milk
L - English muffin with butter, cucumber stix and mandarin
D - Home made lemon chicken and fried rice

yesterday

b- mini shredded wheat with some formula
l- rice cake with humous and red pepper, followed by a complete meltdown both her and me:blush:
d- 2 potato wedges 1 normal 1 sweet potato, some mushy peas which she actually ate from a preloaded spoon, follwed by a little bit of melon

in regards to yoghurt i was wondering are they ok to have greek yoghurt or only the natural plain yoghurt?

ok thats cool thanks!!

also any of the ladies that have given their lo's humzingers, do you know if theres a way to make them yourself, just chloe loved it earlier nearly ate a whole 1, but theyre not the cheapest just wondering if anyone knows of a way to make something similar yourself?

Yeah, I got yeo in the end and mixed it with purée I'd made myself with strawberry & banana.

I'll keep my eyes open for the sugar free jam because even the low sugar one in my local store was 43g per 100g 

I bought peanut butter instead - lol

being dumb now - what's a humzinger?

lol theyre these 100% fruit stick things, i didnt know what they were until i read them a while back on this thread, lo loved them though but theyre not the cheapest:dohh:

forgodssake - the little yeos i got are fruit flavoured - strawbwrry, raspberry, and peach. tried the peach today and it wasn't bad. the jam was also from sainsbury's, so perhaps your local one would have it?

thanks, charli87 - think i will stick with fresh fruit then

so, today hayden had:

b - porridge fingers with some of the new strawberry jam on top, which he loved, and a kiwifruit

l - rice cakes, cheese, tomato, peach yogurt

t - pasta with red pesto, babycorn and mange tout; organix rusk (sugar free!)
