BLW - what did your LO eat today?

ohh really which cookbook is that, is it the online 100 blw recipes one?

charli i have the book, my boyfriend is out for the night and im very bored so i will just find it and type it out for you now

400g tin chickpeas
3 garlic cloves finely chopped or crushed
1-2 tsp ground coriander
1-2 tsp ground cumin
1 medium onion, chopped
juice of 1/2 lemon
1tbsp plain flour
approx 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
ground black pepper, to taste
oil for frying

Rinse the chickpeas and drain them thoroughly .Combine them with the garlic, ground spices, onion and lemon juice in a large bowl and blend (or mash) thoroughly. Add the flour, parsley and black pepper and mix well.
Squeeze handfuls of the mixture into about 12 small patties (flouring or wtting your hands first will help to stop it sticking). Put them in the fridge for about 20 minutes to firm up.
Heat the oil in a frying pan until it is very hot, then add the patties and fry for a few minutes on each side until crisp.
Chickpea patties are best served warm, inside warmed pitta pockets or with strips of pitta bread with hummus, tahini, yoghurt and cucumber dip or spicy tomato salsa.

Ohhh this looks good, think I might have to make it! Didn't even know it was in the book :haha:

i'm thinking there are no rules on snacks - all babies are different and all that. i have been wondering whether to give hayden a mid-morning snack, as he is often not that interested in a bottle then, but seems to want something.

we still give milk before breakfast, but to be honest i don't leave that much of a gap as he is really tired and wanting to go back to bed shortly after his milk. still manages to eat plenty, though. did try breakfast first once, as he had been losing interest in his morning milk and taking less, but it didn't go well. it was quite early on, though.

not really a right or wrong answer to either question, i don't think, but would be interested in what others do / have done.

hayden has a cold at the minute, but it doesn't seem to have affected his apetite! today he had:

b - porridge fingers with strawberry jam, mango, some of hubby's banana

l - pasta with grilled yellow peppers & broccoli, with philadelphia mixed in (the broccoli was a bit overcooked, but that meant that when i stirred in the philly it broke up, making a kind of cheese and broccoli sauce ), 2 apricots

t - roast chicken, yorkshire pudding, mashed potato, carrots, broccoli, homemade apple sauce, a milk and vanilla cookie and a peach and apricot melba pudding

We are still on bottle first, food after. :)

Dinner - tofu veggie cake, turnip, carrot, brocolli, yoghurt.
Snacks, banana bread, apple
