I normally go to see my family or stay in with OH if he isnt working.
This year we want a dishwasher and i think he might be working so I might venture out to get a bargain- but i doubt it. They sales will still be there for a while.

anyone know if Ikea do sales after xmas?

I used to work in New Look when I was a student and would always have to work boxing day :( It was a nightmare plus I lived/worked in Edinburgh but would spend Christmas with my family in Glasgow so always had to get up early on boxing day and drive to Edinburgh to work a full very busy day while everyone else was relaxing. I remember my first year working after graduating and finished work 2 days before Christmas and rang my mum up shouting I am off for 2 whole weeks for Christmas:happydance:

I always thought why does everyone want to coming shopping when that is all we have done all month !! They should just not open the shops on boxing day so everyone can have lovely relaxing time with their families/stay in bed !

On boxing day we all go to DH nana's there is always about 35-40 of us and everyone brings left overs and sweeties and cakes and drinks and the kids all just run around playing with there toys :) I love it. Much better than picking sale stuff off the floor and rehanging it for the 20th time that hour :haha:

I LOVE the boxing day sales. Im one of the crazy 4.30am boxing day sale Next-a-holics.
I ask for money for Christmas so i can shop on boxing day. I was doing it last year and i was a week away from giving birth :D

o0o0o I like the idea of saving a present until boxing day, I may just have to nab that idea off you Vix

We normally stay in on boxing day and make a curry with the left over turkey (I hate turkey!) and play games again, exactly like a mini christmas day minus the hype and presents :haha:

 its a good idea! summit else to look forward to!

we prob go see my parents. ... stop at the sale on the way  infact a mates picking me up at 5am for next sale this yr  i will have a baby to buy for , my excuse

I use to before i was settled and had a family but now completely different and also the fact our town is so small and thereare bugger all shops so I do online sale shopping! More variety and always get a better deal. Plus this year were spending the days at MIL rather then xmas day this year

i think i may be going the sales this year now we have a car! is it really busy?

I don't get everyone rushing to the sales on boxing day. I've had enough of shopping by then. We do go out on boxing day but its normally juist for a nice walk along the beach or something like that.

Noo I've never been out on Boxing day either. I like to make the most of having a rest. We have like another xmas day at my Grandparents all the family come again, watch TV, pig out :haha:

i am hoping that my aunt and uncle are ill again so we can go to IKEA because it was EMPTY the year before last... LOVELY.
we parked right near the exit, and had our pick off all the xmas bargains in the bargain corner.
there was only 6 customers instore, if that!

i wont get my hopes up though!! LOL

i dont go out on boxing day apart to work due to all the people that want to go shopping:dohh: i dont personally get it, xmas is suppose to be about famillies etc but so many of us only get one day due to having to work because people want to go shopping, i just dont understand it personally:wacko:

i couldnt think of anything worse to do on boxing day than shopping!

i wish every shop apart from newsagents were shut on boxing day.
Adam works at matalan and rain or shine theyre open!
boxing days bank holidays new years eve and day! and he works everyone of em!
including xmas eve and i have to keep kids up till 9 so they can see him b4 FC comes!

OH and me once braved the sales in Perth, WA, one Boxing Day... Never. Ever. Again. I'd much rather sit around outside where it's nice and warm and have a bbq!

I know what you mean when we were younger and my mum worked at Peacocks they always had to finish late on Christmas Eve, even though the shop was shut they had to get it all ready for the Boxing Day sales, it is rediculous!!! Now she works on the project team all over the country and they don't do projects over Christmas so she gets it all off!!

atleast you dont have family who work in the NHS, or restaurants and pubs or even worse on oil rigs and deployed soldiers. i dont really care about christmas eve, i always work it, and i work NYE too. Not this yr obv as i'll be on mat leave :D My mum is working christmas day this year
