Breastfeeding in public?

I breast feed whenever wherever. If possible I'll opt to go into a parents room, if I'm in a shopping center, but otherwise I'll never deny my baby what he needs.

I've had to feed him on a bus, in a shop and a couple of times at a cafe. Jasper HATE covers, I've got the quick slip of the breast down, so there only a half second of visible nipple before he'd covering every anyway.

Just remember, its a breasts primary fuction. Its incredible that all women have them, we have them throughout our lives and only use them for such a short amount of time. Breast feeding is natural and beautiful. Our breasts provide everything a growing person needs for their first 6 months of life. Anyone who has an issue with you breast feeding publicly have forgotten that breasts are not soley made for the sexual entertainment and anyone who thinks so, is just ignorant, so ignore them.

hi

i always feed inpublic if i am out shopping, if the baby is hungry i want wait, you can feed discretly hun, it i feel slightly uncomfortable i wil use a blanket to just drape over my shoulder.

Ive breastfed in public a lot. Unfortunately though on a couple of occasions I got comments from people which was really unkind and upset me a lot so it took a bit time to build the confidence back up but now if I was still breastfeeding I dont think I could care less tbh. Its only really closed minded people who would actually say something.

The biggest problem I had was if I went out with either mine or my OHs familys as neither of them really were comfortable with me breastfeeding (especially my dad!) so I used to have to take myself off to do it, but those are the only real problems Ive come across.

As the other girls have said, you can barely see anything anyway and there are cover ups available too. It does take a while to build up the confidence but dont let anyone knock you down!

Go ahead and feed whenever the baby needs and you feel comfortable. I've fed my newborn at Panera, in meetings, at swim meets - anytime and anywhere he needs. I have a nursing shawl and have also just used blankets to cover up.

Breastfeeding is natural and I don't think any mom should question feeding in public. Certainly no one would question a baby being bottle fed so why on earth would they question a baby being nursed?

Good luck!

I breastfeed in public, I do throw a blanket over us in the beginning because they wiggle alot, but now Hayden is 16mo so if I do have to nurse in public which is rare now I don't, he just does it and then that's it. But you can't see anything at all. If anyone ever said something I would probably go off lol...that would be like me saying I think seeing a baby being bottlefed is disgusting or something, how would they feel you know? My baby has to eat too

i bought a cpl of nursing tops from Mothercare & they are a godsend.

nobody has said anything about me breastfeeding in public but I'm dying for somebody to ask me to stop. Just so I can tell them to fling shit at themselves!

Its illegal for anyone to ask me to stop b/f in public until my bubba is 2!! (Scotland only)

Dont be ashamed or think about what other people will say. You do what you feel is right for your baby.

good luck with the birth

Im so proud of everyone:hugs:Doing the right thing by thinking of your baby's needs 1st.. People that never had kids might not understand though because they don't have that motherly love n instinct yet so they shouldn't judge..As long as we are discreet I feel we are not disturbing anyone...We are potected in moat places anyway to breastfeed in public..Im not staying locked down in my house just because my Cub is hungry in public..Whats the difference of a baby screaming for a bottle n a baby screaming for a breast?? they both are screaming for nourishment.. I will in public with my nursing nanny apron looking blanket and I dare someone to say or give me a look...Its on and they will get embarrassed for real...I feel Mind your own business not mines..:hugs:
