Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

I can't say I have but it is still early days for me, I do feel like my libido is on the up though.

Maybe its more hormones messing you about?

Afternoon all, im up there with libido but im away for a few days at my mums :dohh:

Noah as got oral thrush and has given it to my nipples, so feeding is really hurting me at the moment, although the last few feeds have been slightly easier.

Just been to the mamas and papas outlet and totally spoilt Noah.

My libido came back when Earl was about 3 days old.....it had vanished completely when I reached 39 weeks and I was worried that it wouldn't return (I'm a tiny bit of an addict! lol) but it's been back with a vengeance since then and I was so pleased to be able to DTD last night. Im not going to lie....it hurt......but I know that it will not hurt like that again. Hate the 'birth control' aspect of it though as I was on the pill before and then TTC.....I'd actually forgotten how to use a condom!

Earl is having a really clingy day. I could be wrong but I think he may have a little bit of a temperature so I'm keeping an eye on him. I know he can't have anything for it so I'm keeping him topped up with fluids and making sure he's not overly warm. I'll call the GP in the morning if he's no better. Hopefully if he goes to sleep soon he'll sleep it off!

hello all, hope were all well, i cant believe this time 6 weeks ago i was in labour!!

thanks =] he is isnt he lol.. hes only just did his first smile today =[ hes been abit grumpy hes suffering really bad with colic and just fed up i think

I've had a busy couple of days... mortgage people, solicitors etc, getting quotes for life insurance & all that jazz. Makes me feel like a 'proper' grown up, lol.
Took Harry to my OH's grandparents' grave today; it was quite emotional for him... I stayed in the car, but it was so sweet watching them in the rain, while OH 'intorduced' Harry to his grandad & nanny, bless them.
Got Harry weighed yesterday & he's gained 8oz in a week, so I'm really pleased. Finally feel like I'm doing things right now & they can't keep moaning he's gaining weight too slowly. He's now 7lbs 12oz, but still at the very bottom of the 2nd centile. If he keeps gaining 8oz a week though, he'll soon be progressing up the centiles :) Can take him every 2 weeks now instead of every week, then so long as he's still doing good in the new year, just once a month.
My sister got her 14mth old weighed & measured too & he'[s in the 99.6th percentile for everything! He really is mahusive!!! They've predicted his adult height will be well in excess of 6'3"- must get it from his dad's side, coz our side is all shorties!
Harry's still sleeping pretty well- he seems to have quite a good pattern atm of 11pm, 4am & 7am, which I can deal with. He's awake much more during the day time now & likes his playmat at last- I think it scared him a bit at first coz of sensory overload, but he's reaching out for things now & turning his head & gaze towards the noisey toys bits & stuff. He's still really floppy headed, but has mega strong legs... must get that from having 2 ex-competitive trampolinists as parents!

Anyway, better go, as OH is looking a bit harrassed as Harry keeps trying to root for his nipples! Speaking of nips, got measured for a bra today... I'm a freaking 38DD!!!!!! I was only a 36C pre pregnancy... OH hi5'd me in the shop for having big old boobies. The staff looked at him like he was mental.

I just weighed Sam on my wii fit and he's 12lb, he's not even 6 weeks yet. He was 8lb 1oz at birth (38 weeks), 8lb 8oz at 2 weeks, 10lb 4oz at 4 weeks. Quite shocked, dunno why cos he's constantly wanting feeding.

Good Morning All!?!?

We had a much better night last night! I feel so much better than I did yesterday! She'd only let me have 1 hours sleep during the night and an hour in the morning too... I was like the walking dead yesterday "big black rings" around my eyes... But last night, we had a really good night, she woke every 3 hours for a feeds... But I can still only get her to settle in the moses basket upstairs by placing her on her side... Hey, it works!

I hope everyone is well, Madame had her hearing test yesterday; no problems there! Bonus! Health visitor is coming to the house next week... Guess I need to get on top of the ironing over the weekend... LOL I was doing so well, but a couple of days of no sleep soon allows the housework to run off leaving you behind...

Thank goodness OH is off this weekend he can help me get back on top of it... Oh, we had a real break through yesterday evening, We went to curry club; and for the 1st time in ages I didn't loose it! Plus I didn't need to feed madame while I was eating, she'd slept right through. When we got home, she woke to eat, OH managed to give her a bottle of expressed milk! How good is that?!

Morning all!!

Think Aidyn is having a bit of a growth spurt, he was up twice last nite instead of his usual once, then wide awake at 7 this morning.

Am taking him into dh's work later on for the ladies to coo over, they will make a right fuss of him I'm sure.

Tonight I am having a girls night out, no children, am hoping it works out ok to feed Aidyn at 7 before I go, have expressed 2 feeds for him and I will be home at 11 so all should be well, fingers x!!!

Eswift and anyone else that expresses, quickk ? for you, how much do you manage to express? I only seem to get 3oz per boob, thought it would be more?

Flora, sorry didnt answer you sooner, my boys are quite good with Aidyn, oldest one is 6 and he is not interested at all, although his teacher said he talks about Aidyn alot, bless him. Blake is 3 and he gets a bit jealous if strangers want to look at his baby and does like to fuss over Aidyn a bit but not overpoweringly, lets hope it stays that way!!!

Can't go out til delivery man been, bet I'm waiting all blooming day:dohh:

Have a good day:hugs:

Morning girls. Well me and James went to postnatal group this morning. Was lovely to meet other mums with babies around the same age as James. Especially as one lives pretty much opposite me. Got absolutely soaked on the walk home though. Was great to be out walking again though. Havn't been for a proper walk since he was born except for wandering around Milton Keynes shopping centre. I'm starving now so I'm off to make a sandwich before James wakes for a feed.

Hi,
Were not doing too bad on a night either, Ethans pattern seems to be 11pmish, 3am and then I have to wake him at 7.30am to feed him otherwise I'd be late doing the school run! Pretty good for a 10 day old eh! He's just had his 10day midwife check and he's doing great, weight not quite back up to birth weight, but only 100g away from it so midwife was happy to discharge us both :happydance: His cord has dropped off too at last! Is anyone else keeping the peg??

Mornin' Girls!

Taylors Mum ~ Dexter looks really healthy sitting in his Bumbo!

Flora ~ It's great Harry is doing so well. He'll pack on the lbs in no time :)

Jo ~ 8lb 10z is what Autumn weighed at birth! She's not due a Drs visit for 2 weeks, but on the 30th October she was 9lb 130z, so I think she's well in to the 10, maybe even 11lb mark now. They grow so quickly!

Eswift ~ glad you're getting some more sleep!

Jlo ~ Enjoy your girls night :)

LK ~ Glad the group went well for you!

I wanted to share Autumns first smile with you all! It was shear luck I had the camera lol. In this photo she's flirting with the ceiling fan. She LOVES the thing, it's her BFF haha. Now she's discovered her smile, she spends HOURS sitting and flirting with it.

As for sleeping, the last 4 days she's done awesome, will go to bed (Bottle, bath, bed) at 9pmish, the first night she woke at 5am!! 7 hours.
Generally tho it's 9pm, 3am, 7am. I'm loving extra sleep.

Today we're going to a different state to catch up with the OHs friends. It's about a 400mile drive, its going to be interesting with lil miss to see how she does!

Ok I need to get to the chiropractor! bbl :)

Afternoon all,

Chloe has been super good last night, she only woke at about 4.30, then again at about 8.30! Not bad as we were in bed for 11pm. Normally she is up at 1am, 3am, 5am then 8am. She is a little sniffily today though but thankfully the health visitor should be here soon so I can see what she says about it. HV just been, she seems really nice :) All Chloe's measurements are in the 25th percentile. She now weighs 7lbs 8oz!! Her birth weight was 6lbs 14oz and at her last check on the 5th she was 6lbs 11oz.

JLo ~ When I did express it was all over the place, sometimes I got quite a bit, other times not. It took me 2 to 3 days to get 120ml at one point. My BF / expressing went all wrong though and I have now officially dried up! One of the MW said to me that the best time to express was once at night, once during the night and then again in the morning to get the best results. Not sure how it is for all you ladies out there still managing. (also . . . enjoy your girls night out :D)

Helz ~ yep! we have kept the cord peg!

Hi ladies!

Hope everyone has been enjoying a good week. I've been lurking to see what's been happening, but Miss Emma has been keeping me busy so I haven't been posting. We were suffering from colic pretty badly at the start of the week. I got desperate and bought the book "The Happiest Baby on the Block", read it quickly and it seems to have made a world of difference- no crying fits for the past 2 days :)

Where to begin?... :)

baby.love- :hugs: hope you are coping okay. Must be overwhelming getting your son's diagnosis while your family is still adjusting to Sienna's arrival. You're a fab mum to have got him diagnosed to early- it really does make a huge difference from what I've seen as a teacher.

Florabean- congrats on the house!! Hope all the mortgage, lawyer, etc stuff is going well. When do you close on the sale and get to move in?

Aimee Lou- happy belated anniversary! re: stitches, I was shedding the stitches that they had to put on my cervix this week- I was totally grossed out since I thought that dissolvable stitches would do exactly that and disappear totally without me having to see them.

Maffie- hope you and Noah are doing okay and the oral thrush is clearing. Sounds painful!

sam76- congrats on 6 weeks!!

TaylorsMummy- cute pic of dexter! Emma's a big one too- she weighed 11lbs 4oz at 3 weeks. I tried to get her weighed this week at the baby drop in but they were closed due to H1N1 so I guess I'll have to wait a little longer to see how much she's gained.

jlo- at the moment I can get 6 oz out per boob but it takes a while and since Emma is bigger/older than Aidyn, she's probably built up my supply a little more. I seem to get it out fastest if I'm snuggling Emma at the same time (I could really use 4 arms when trying to do it though!)- probably triggers some kind of emotional/hormonal thingy and gets things flowing better! Hope you have a fun girls night!!

Helz- we kept the peg too- OH thinks I'm crazy since since really it's just a huge scab. We might just keep the clip in the end.

Chaos- cute pic of Autumn. Hope the car ride goes smoothly for all of you :)

Kte- hope Chloe's sniffles clear up for you soon- that's nice that she let you sleep a bit more last night.

Well, I should get a move on- got a prescription for the mini-pill at my post delivery check up so I should probably get that filled today. Wouldn't want to give Emma a sibling just yet!! :)

Hope everyone has a good weekend! :hugs:

kaites, we're hoping to complete the sale pre-christmas... bit manic, but do-able!

chaos, autumn is gorgeous, with such a lovely smile- she looks so bright & happy :)

kte, hope chloe's sniffles go soon.

:hugs: to those of you hsving sleepless nights. harry was a git last night & didn't sleep for more than 30mins at a time. he was cluster feeding from me the entire night, so i ended up crying & demanding OH take him away & defrost some of the expressed stash ive built up in the freezer coz i was going mental having him quite literally attatched to me all night n not being able to sleep. he's been better today, going about 90minutes between each feed, so i've been trying to sleep while he's sleeping n screw the housework, lol. he's also refusing his dummy the last 2 days, so i wonder if he's comfort feeding too. oh well, such is life!

how's everyone doing???

Evening everyone,

Chaos - Awww how gorgeous is Autumn

Taylorsmummy - Dexter looks like he's a handsome little boy....I keep an eye on him as his birthweight was the same as Earl's, gives me a clue of what to expect lol. Hope he's doing ok.

How are we all? I've had a good day today - went into town to get a few things. Left Earl with hubby and went and looked in a few shops. Got a good couple of bargains too! While I was out Hubby was watching the racing and won £60!! Even better - he was so giddy when I got home! :happydance:

Earl is doing well....his temperature wasn't a temperature after all - he had had a busy day so I think he had gotten a bit worked up. We are setting up his nursery this evening ready for him to go in it tomorrow night....he's been sleeping in the living room the past 3 nights as we were all keeping each other up and we were getting stressed with night feeds. Since going into a seperate room we've been sleeping so much better and the routine has gotten so good......10.30, 3, 7.30..... and Earl seems happier. Hubby goes back to work on Monday so it's best we get sorted before that (really wish he wasn't!!)

Seeing as we're posting pics....here's one of Earl!

Have a good evening ladies xx
