Kaites, hugs for you and Emma. Hope she feels better ASAP. Not an idea pre-Christmas situ for you and your family. How are you dealing with your daycare kiddies, or don't you run the daycare during the hols?

My night out on Fri was good. Just two glasses of wine, as I still BF Monty before breakfast in the morn. Plus any more than that would go straight to my head these days, and I just don't think I could handle the mere thought, let alone the real thing, of having a hangover AND a baby. Urrrghgg, what a horrible horrible thought

Was a bit concerned, as my friend there on Fri came in to the pub and told me her older daughter had a tummy bug. Arrrgh, I have since spent the past 48 hours worrying about every little twinge in my abdo area, worrying that I've caught the bug. I absolutely hate puking, I'm getting worse with it, it's almost like a proper fear these days. I get really stressed about it rather than just letting it all out. Need to get over it I think, because I'm sure as Monty gets older and starts mixing with more kids, he's bound to have lots of tummy upsets and pass them on to us. AF is also due, so of course I've had LOADS of twinges! Because I didn't want to risk that potentially I could infect all my guests, I have held off doing any Xmas cooking this weekend. I think I'll wait until lunchtime today just to be certain and then I might get on with some more.

Still not actually sure whether any of our guests will make it, so we're putting loads of stuff in the freezer and then it can simply stay there for a bit if they can't get here after all.

Unless either of us gets offered any work this week, we're both off now until the new year, which is quite nice I have to say, so we're trying to get lots of things ticked off the to-do list. I LOVE doing things on my list :happydance:

Don't think I've read on here what you're all buying the babies for Xmas. Monty isn't having a great deal from us - I don't see the point of buying masses at his age, as he'd be happy playing with his boxes and wrapping paper as much as anything else. So he's got various woolly socks and slippers, an all-in-one waterproof (eBay bargain, looks good as new), some books (eBay bargains) and an ELC workbench (a fiver off eBay, looks unused). I'm definitely in the camp of people who believes that babies do not have to cost a lot of money, even at Xmas :-)

OKeydoke, off to do another task on the list. See you all soon xxx

Good morning :coffee:

Where'd the weekend go?

Colsy- I hope you don't catch the tummy bug! I'm open until xmas eve with the kiddies- hubby is home for most of the day now that the ground is frozen (not much demand for irrigation in these parts in the winter :haha:) so he's on official sick baby duty and will be hanging with Emma in the basement while I'm upstairs with the others. I'm taking next Monday and Tuesday off, but open again on the 29th since one of the parents needs childcare between xmas and new years. That nice that you managed to get a little break from work during the holidays :flower: I love ticking stuff off to-do lists too (I'm a compulsive list maker, lol) so I imagine you must be looking forward to getting stuff done too :) I hope your guests manage to brave the weather/roads and make it to your house for Christmas! How are the roads now? Looks like our in-laws have been poaching our guests for xmas eve so it'll just be my family coming over that night (I'm both annoyed and relieved at the same time). We're keeping Christmas a bit more low key than previous ones too. We've bought Emma a tea set, some books (can never have too many of those!) and some clothing and a pair of slippers and a pair of shoes. She is in need of a new pair of shoes and slippers so they would have been bought regardless of the holidays. I think she'll have a fun time pulling gifts out of gift bags this year though (I think unwrapping gift paper might be a bit difficult for her yet).

Well, I better run- I need to sanitize some more surfaces... Hope everyone is having a good day :hugs:

Morning  (I missed that out last post!)

I don't think I said, I can't really remeber much of what we bought Chloe becasue we just got bits and bats at the same time as her birthday presents and wrapped them up early! I do remember she has some building blocks, books (good as running out of previously unread bedtime stories!) and some new trainers. We also got her a stocking with little nic naks in like a new toothbrush etc :haha:

Oh no, poor Emma! :hugs: Hope she heals up quickly & feels better soon, bless her.

Colsy, Harry has been well & truly spoilt by everyone this christmas- people have bought him tons of stuff & I've no idea where the heck we're gonna put it all! I kinda wish I'd asked people to put some money in his account instead of pressies, but I always feel rude doing that :dohh: We've bought him a few bits of clothing in massive sizes ready for summer & next year, a kinda car/garage thingy with roads & slopes n cars & stuff on it, some building blocks & a little tool box set. I know he's got a train set of FIL, a weebles set off MIL, a farmyard set of my mum, a toy helicopter off someone else, plus tons more that are taking up the spare bed, lol. Que hyper child with too many toys on xmas day here!!!!

What's everyone's plan for crimbo & new year? We're having a quiet one with just us 3 on xmas eve & xmas day, then going to MIL's boxing day, then 29th-3rd, we're off to Longleat Centre Parcs with OH's work for his boss's 40th b'day, so that should be good

Morning / afternoon all :flower:

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr is all I can say!

I feel so bad having Chloe out in this weather . . . two more bus journeys to go and then that's it for crimbob for a bit at least. She had a vest, long sleeved top, thick cardy, snow suit, 2x blankets, her beanie hat with her cardy and coat hoods up, scalf and one glove on today (her coat covered one hand but not the other!) She seemed okay, she managed to fall asleep on the bus (which was as bad as being outside). Everyone says she looks snug, I just hope she is. My toes felt like they froze a treat, I am not good with the cold one bit!

Flora - Longleat sounds like it will be fun! Weather pending, as snow is due to hit us again on Thursday, here were our Christmas plans! Thurs inlaws (what joy) for the evening, Christmas eve head up to my Sisters for the day, setting off home early eve ready for Christmas at home, just us. Christmas day presents, Nij is making Christmas dinner (yum) and then relax, playing with Chloe and a film or two :D Boxing day, relax again! Maybe go for a mini walk around the local park. Nij is working for a few days again then so its Chloe and me time and then no other plans as such, not even for new years eve but Nij isn't working then so we may actually get to see it in this year . . . I haven't really celebrated it the last two years

Kaites: Hope Emma is okay :hugs: :flower:

Hope all the other poorly babies are okay too (James, Sam and any others I have missed) :hugs:

i know, it's freezing, right?! it rained all day yesterday, so all the snow is gone here now, but instead it's really slippery underfoot, so aside from taking the recycling bin our today, i thought, nah, we'll have yet another stay at home day! Me & harry made a den in the lounge, which has provided hours of fun, then we watched Nightmare Before Xmas on TV before he fell asleep

Well life officially sucks atm. Not only does James have a chest infection but I've come down with the flu and have a sinus infection, chest infection, AND laryngitis!!! I've pulled all my stomach muscles coughing up my lungs. But it does mean a week off work lol. Not that I have the energy atm to even consider work. Can't even stand in the kitchen washing up without feeling like going to bed. Both of us on antibiotics now so hoping to be better by christmas. My temp was spiking at 39.8 degrees c yesterday morning.

We have all of my family over to mine for christmas this year. I can't wait! Us girls are cooking dinner and the boys clean up. I'm so excited about christmas. I am shocked that James hasn't once touched the tree or the presents! If they are under the tree they are safe but the one I wrapped up for secret santa was run off with pretty quickly!!!

another trip to the ER- this time our GP sent us there :( Emma still has a fever and now has a rash on her back (not roseola either). We were there til midnight, getting bloodwork, etc done- still no answers. Today it's back to the hospital for a derm consult and if the fever is still around on Thursday, they told us they'll probably admit her  I have a feeling xmas isn't happening this year.

Kte- Hope you stay warm! :flower:

LK- Hope you and James take care and feel better soon :hugs:

Oh no Kaites! Poor Emma - and you and hubby, I remember when Chloe was in hosp for just two evenings and it's just awful watching them go through tests, seeing them unwell and all the worry of not knowing whats up. :nope: :hugs: I have everything crossed and hope so much that she starts to pick up so she isn't admitted for Christmas and lots of get well :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry Emma's so poorly :( I really hope they find out what it is & are able to sort it & get her fever down before xmas.... :hugs: Kaites. xxx

Kaites Hope you find out whats making emma ill and they fix her up soon x

Kaites, massive hugs coming your way. Hope everything is absolutely fine and that you, Emma and all your family manage to get a lovely Xmas.

Monty slept til 7.40am today!!!!!!!! :happydance: But then yesterday he was up at 5.45am, so I can't imagine it's the start of a new pattern. Just a little blip I am guessing. This is prob it from me now til after the hols, so have a good one all of you and I look forward to coming back in a week or so.

Love you all xxx

Kaites: Still thinking of you all and hoping Emma is okay :hugs: :flower:

Colsy: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, have a lovely one xx

Happy xmas eve eve from the children's hospital! Emma got admitted yesterday after her derm appt and has been diagnosed with something called Kawasawki Disease (I probably spelled that wrong!)- some kinda immune system thingy. Hubby brought the netbook in this morning so that I can have a bit of distraction but now I'm itching to start googling KD (hence my BnBing instead!). She had an immunoglobbulin treatment overnight and we have a cardiology consultation later today- looks like Santa will be visiting the hospital this year. It sucks though- poor kid still has a fever and is being probed on an hourly basis by staff so it's been a long night. Anyway, just a quick hello from me to say thanks for the get well wishes :) Hope everyone has a merry christmas!! :hugs:

:hugs: Don't go googling and making yourself overly worry! :hugs: It's sounds like she is in the best possible place being treated for it :hugs: It's a shame your having Christmas in the hospital but still, wishing you a merry Christmas and lots more get well soon hugs for Emma :hugs:

awww, Kaites, that sucks about xmas being in the hospital, but having had a friend of mine who spent many a chtistmas on childrens wards, they treat you amazingly & usually have a santa that visits, xmas food, pressies etc etc, so i hopeoit's not too bad for you all.

I do still read this thread but am rubbish at posting! Just wanted to say Katies that I hope Emma feels better soon and I am thinking of you all!

Hope everyone else is ok and has a good Christmas! I am looking forward to it but will be thinking of you Katies and Emma x

Thanks ladies- I've been good and not spent too much time googling (hubby did enough for the both of us last night). Emma now has a strep infection and another different rash on her arms so we are officially here for xmas :( We're in isolation so I'm not too sure if Santa is going to visit us- he does come to the hospital though. Of course, Emma hated her visit to see Santa at the mall, so I highly doubt she'll like him any better in a hospital :haha: Of all the times of the year to get sick....
