Cripes Fraggles you must have a big car! My car barely fits 2 adults and 3 kids when I go out with my sister. And thats only if my niece sits in the front and my sister squeezes in the back between the 2 car seats.

That must be a big car! Okay, now I see how the whole pushchair/pram set up goes- I was thinking "wow, that's gotta be awkward", lol :)

I've also got a baby carrier addiction, but that packs away much smaller than the strollers :)

I dont drive so family help out loads and bought a people carrier. 7 seats are a god send but I must admit I seem to put a lot of petrol in the thing. Im looking forward to when im healed enough to go out on my own with the kids.

Lol. I would love to be able to buy a new pram but just can't afford it :(

I am seriously lucky, yet seriously cursed, with prams. I have never had a brand spanking new pram.

  • The 3D was second hand off of Nij's friend but a metal shaft snapped on it. I always had to wrestle with it to get it to open sometimes too and I always got the bus with steps if I took it because it was such a nightmare to open and close!

  • The Hauck was also a second hand pram that the inlwas kept at theirs but once we said they wouldn't have sole access to Chloe they brought it over. A wheel fell off. It clipped back on again but the wheels are small and so its hard to get up and down kerbs and I hit the breakes when I walk. Oh and worse, the straps are awful, didn't look comfy or secure.

  • The Chicco was fab but I hated it at first becasue it was a bargain the inlwas got from a carboot before we had even purchased the Silvercross. Once I used it I loved it but it had no rain cover for it so I used to use the 3D's. A wheel also fell of this one and Nij had glue it back on, not the best, oh and then the final straw was a metal bar the fell off the bottom.

  • The Obaby was pink with a hint of pink. Oh and a chintsy 70's floral pattern for the hood. It's the only surviving pram I had until the Luna becasue, sods law, I hate that much pink!

  • The Luna is from Fraggle's collection (or de-collection) :winkwink: All wheels still intact after todays journey to nursery so i'm doing well!

My car is the pram storage compartment since I'm still not driving at the mo. Come on March so I can get a banger!

LK: :hugs: Hmm, I know people are off sick but it's no good for your work to push it onto others more and make them sick, take care of yourself :hugs:

Chloe is back at nursery today, she was bossing me about so much yesterday I knew she was well enough! When I dropped her off another LO had just been sick so defo looks like she had picked it up there. No phone call yet to say she isn't well so that's good!

Gosh you have had a rubbish time with prams lol. I just realised I havn't actually eaten yet today cos I've been doing housework so I'm off to make a sandwich before James wakes lol.

Evening all...

Gosh, I've been busy doing housework!

Still slowly sorting through the boxes... Cough splutter cough... OH has been on nights for what feels like forever...

Hope you're all well...

Evening all, blimey I seem to have no time to pop in here these days.

Had a fab weekend away. Can I ask you all though - do your babies go to sleep OK at other people's houses, or is it a struggle? The reason I ask is because although Monty now sleeps fine at home (although I wish he'd stop this new thing of 5.30am wake-ups!), he cries for a good 10 or 20 minutes when put in his travel cot in other places. We have to just walk away and leave him, as he just won't sleep at all otherwise. But as you can imagine, it's horrible listening to him cry, and it's also not exactly the start for a nice relaxing evening with friends or family. The funny thing is that once he's asleep, he's fine, and then he sleeps through til morning.

Am hunting for an eBay bargain for a bus-friendly buggy. We love our Bugaboo Cam but need something easier for public transport. I know some of you have answered my query re this in the Toddlers section, but if any others have any suggestions, feel free. So far I'm thinking the Bug Bee (but way too dear for a second pram), Petite Star Zia or Quinny Zapp Xtra. I need something that I can fold up myself whilst Monty stands next to me, so no two-parters (like our Bug Cam). However, I also need it to recline, because if we go out all day Monty will sleep for a good hour or so in the afternoon but I want him to be laid back a bit so he's comfortable. (And for this reason, I don't rate the Maclaren buggies.)

Sorry this is full of questions and no proper chat but I'm only here quickly to do a computer back-up and then it's pre-bed reading time (to Monty, I mean, not me!).

Love y'all xx

Well today is just turning out to be great. I ended up booking an emergency appt with the GP this evening cos my leg has just felt really heavy and gotten more and more so through the day to the point where walking round town I kept scuffing my foot along the floor. Tripped over my own foot twice walking across the waiting room to the drs room. He has booked me in for an appt tomorrow morning with the GP to phone the neurologist as he wants me seen tomorrow. He also told me to be prepared to be admitted :( So could be fun. Not entirely sure what I'm going to do....

Hi everyone,

LK - Sorry to hear about the Dr's assessment. I hope you don't get admitted. I've only been in hosp once and it made me feel worse!! lol

I'm living at the Dr's at the moment as it would appear that my Thyroid is getting worse and my dose it now up to 150mcg, and my aneamia has made a comeback due to stress so I've been asked to try to up my iron intake and my vit c intake before I have another blood test. I have a smear test booked for the 8th after my last one was lost completely by the surgery - I am so looking forward to getting the result from that (weird I know) but I desperately want a normal reading before we'r pregnant again!

I'm so broody at the moment - We're ready for it, apart from the financials, and I think Earl would really love a playmate!

Hbby has just nipped to the shops for cheese slices as we have burgers for tea now Earl has settled.

Hubby's birthday on Sunday and we have a day out planned to the city to buy Hubby some new t-shirts and then a meal at nando's - can't wait to see Earl eat it! lol

Re: Prams. We got our 3D as a pressie from my Dad, and it's holding up pretty well, but then again it doesn't get a massive amount of use. Maybe 2-3 times a week (childminder is a 2 minute walk and we carry Earl or let him walk on the reins) and it does get used as a packhorse on shopping days lol. We also have the lightweight which is currently at the back of the cupboard - hubby hates it as its too short, and it has developed a very annoying squeak lol - it is handy to have a spare, but seeing as Earl is a heavyweight, only the 3D seems to cope with it! lol :dohh:

Anyhoos - I'd best go as I have a job application to do. 5 days a week, 5 hours a day 10-3! It's more money per hour as well so I think it only works out as £40 less a week despite being 12 hours a week less (plus less travelling) and most importantly, it's enough that the HB would have to pay out! I worked out I would ahve to get a job for £23,000 per annum, in order for us to make ends meet.......and I don't mind saying, I'm not that talented! lol :winkwink:

Hope we're all ok otherwise :hugs:

LK, I hope everything's OK. Bit of a pointless statement, that, but I wanted to let you know that we're thinking of you :hugs:

Aimee, enjoy your cheese slices! And good luck with the job app.

LK I'm sorry things are getting worse for you, I hope you're not admitted, do you have someone who can look after James for you if you are?

I was shocked today as I was meant to call my Docs tomorrow for blood results but they actually called me, usually with my Docs you're calling them for a week before they'll give anything out. Anyway turns out I'm anaemic, explains my flood like periods and my extreme tiredness lately. I have to pick up some iron tablets tomorrow, these tend to make me ill though so I'll see how it goes, then I have to go back for more blood tests after I finish the tablets. I'm also having the mirena coil fitted so hopefully this will sort things out with my periods.

When we've been away with Missy and she has had to sleep in a travel cot, I've taken some familiar stuff from her room with us. A couple of her teddies she has in her cot, her blanket and her projector music box thing that is also a night light .. it projects pictures on to the roof while playing them lullaby's to go to sleep. It was a lot better when we did it that way, its like she felt a bit safer and not so scared in a strange place.

Re this, I just got a new buggy and LOVE it!! It was this make/model (I got the black one tho) https://www.amazon.com/Mia-Moda-Sportivo-Stroller-Pink/dp/B003M9FHWW

It's fantastic, it reclines like a large stroller so if they fall asleep they can lay back, but it folds up like an umbrella stroller and has a carry strap so you can carry it over your shoulder. Its the best one I've ever had and super light. This is a better review of it: https://www.frugalityisfree.com/2010/10/mia-moda-sportivo-stroller-review.html and shows you how flat it folds. I also like it because unlike an umbrella stroller, you don't have to lean over all hunched to push it.

I'm not sure if you can get this make back home in England but it might be worth a search, if not Chicco make their version of it, but it costs a bit more ..here is a link to that one: https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4089528

LK ~ Sorry you're having a rough time .. keep us updated *hugs*

Craftymum - glad you got to the bottom of things and I hope the iron tablets and the coil helps.

I am absolutely fuming. I called my nan to ask her to be on standby to look after James while I see the neurologist and she actually asked me if I was doing this as a cry for help!!! She thinks its all in my head and that its because I'm down cos my parents are away!! I'm absolutely shaking and can't stop crying. I can't believe my own flesh and blood thinks that
