Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

Flora: Chloe likes ITNG but thankfully only the books and toys, her face was a picture when it actually came on TV! She has become obsessed with Peppa, I'm hoping we can take her to see a Peppa Pig live show for her main birthday presant this year as there is one near us in October. We can sometimes substitute Peppa for Thomas the Tank thankfully!

Good luck on finding out today, hope the scan goes well . . .can't wait to hear :pink: or :blue: :flower:

Milo's Mummy: Certainly sounds like the ball is rolling for Milo and his therapy now, thats great!

Kaites: Well done Emma! My little cousin, the one a week younger than Chloe has just learnt to summersault too, she was really going for it, so I guess I must prepare myself for this heart attack! Congrat's on winning the photo session! :flower:

Chaos: That is really scary! It's getting so close!

LK: Hope James is okay :hugs: and your phone is sorted :flower:

Fraggles: Hope all is well with you and N & J :flower:

Chloe likes to jump off steps and things now too, thankfully she says 'two, three' before so I get a bit of warning to catch her! She won't jump off things that too high all by herself mind but its only a matter of time! She is into 'ring-a-ring-a-roses' at the moment, especially the bit where you pat the floor and jump up.

The long weekend was lovely - BBQ was nice, weather held out for us! Sat we went to the park for a bit and then nipped into town to get a new TV - an absolute bargain, we went to the British Heart Foundation electricals shop and scooped up a decent one for £20! Its quite big, bigger than we were planning and its only for the bed room as the old one has gone on the blink. Sunday we went to a carboot, it was so busy, managed to pick up some Peppa Pig wellies for Chloe for 50p! She hates wellies but I'd rather spend 50p to try and convince her than 6.99! We got her a Leapfrog learning ABC pad 'in British' lol for £3, brand new and a Halloween costume! I'd say, okay its early but the stuff is starting to appear in the shops already! Then after that I went off training, it was okay but I prefer evenings as I don't miss out on Chloe time. When I got back she had played with a new jigsaw puzzle, whatched some video's and passed out on my lap since she refused her nap. It's been odd having Nij around - I feel like I have been on holiday!!

Morning ladies :)

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Ours was a rainy mess but we still went to the lake- probably just as well since we've discovered that we have a leak in the roof there that needs fixing (looks like next weekend will be a work weekend!). Hubby is driving me a bit crazy atm too so a trailer/caravan is a small space to be living when the weather is crappy too

Kte- Sounds like a nice weekend- that's great that you get to spend more time as a family too :flower: Chloe sounds cute with her jumping off steps :)

Flora- Hope all goes well with the scan :flower:

:hugs: to those that need them!

Girls, hi and bye. Sorry, I just wanted to drop in, but I am sooo busy catching up with work for the few days we're around this week that I don't have time to chat. We're away loads at the mo, so each time I'm at work it really is case of knuckle down at no BnB fun :-(

We've had some MASSIVE development spurts the past couple of weeks - jumping off things, jumping round in half-circles to face the opposite direction, chatting in his own little sentences to describe his day (most of which we can't actually understand), telling us when he's had a poo, playing nicely in his cot when he wakes up in morn instead of yelling straight away.

I just wish he'd go thro the development stage that means he'll sleep OK in other houses. It's HARD going away, because he just won't sleep well elsewhere. He won't go to sleep alone, so one of us has to lie down next to him til he drops off, and then when he does sleep it is SOOOO stupidly light that you totally have to creep on tiptoe at the bedroom otherwise he'll wake immediately and really cry hard. Then he won't sleep thro the night, even if we're in the same room as him - he just wakes at like 1am wanting to get up, and he'll take say an hour of us leaning over the cot for him to go back to sleep. And then he wakes for the day dead early, say about 5am. So all in all, although we LOVE going away and we're going to persist with it, in the hope that he eventually improves, it is very very tiring, both for us and for him. Does anybody have any tips?

Blimey, this was meant to be dead short and now look - I've written an entire essay for one question!

Hope to catch up again one day this week xx

Aww bless you Colsy

Have you try to take him out somewhere that can really worn him out thru the day and he might be able to knock off thru the night?

Billy is having another tooth cut thru and now its 13! And still waiting for others to pop thru and Billy wont let me poke around in his mouth! Oh well..

I cant wait for next tues for Asda Baby Event to stock up for newborn nappies, wipes etc. :D

I cant believe also that I have less than 4 weeks left to meet my DS2! :D IF i go 2 weeks overdue, it will be another October bumpkin (it will be at 1st weekend of october!)! But a chance of that is not great I hope as I still want my son to be born in Sept!!

Speak later xxxx

Oh trust me, he is well and truly knackered. He never stops! (Nor do we!!!)

Aww bless him! I suppose to wait til he is going to outgrow of it?

My son knows its bed time but still up and playing in his room - in fact he knows we might not able to hear him so he is taking advanages of us being deaf.

But very annoying with him, he is sometimes very ingorant while I tried to call him by his name and he wont turn around, just carry on whatever hes doing. How I can get him to answer to his name and turn his attention to me? X

Chloe sometimes does this with me, just ignores when I call her, usually when she is in mischief mode. It usually ends up in me going to her, getting down to her level and then speaking to her. It does work but I am also egar for any other tips just incase I can do something better.

Afternoon all, I think im going to be grey soon. These kids know how to worry mummy. Sorry not had chance to reply to everything ive read but hope we are all well.

i went to have a consultation with a surgeon today to have my gallbladder removed. i go friday for pre-surgery testing. and then my surgery is on tuesday at 1pm. OH plans on taking a half day on tuesday, then if i can leave the same day (usually an out-patient surgery) i'll go back to my moms and have her watch the kids for me. and then OH will be off work on wednesday so he can watch the kids. i'll be on lifting restrictions for awhile. so it'll be tough once i have no help :(

Hello everyone! How the devil are we all?

I've got some good news to share - I have got a new job! I've not been on much as it's been hectic here, but I had an interview yesterday to be a receptionist at the local leisure centre, and they called about an hour ago to offer me the job. I start on the 21st September, so can afford to leave aviva about a week or so before that to have some chill out time with my boys, before I start at the new place. I will be working 3 evenings (3-10ish) and then Sundays 7.30-3. Bloody perfect! Means Earl will only be at childcare 3 afternoons per week!! :happydance:

Other than that, not a lot going on just busy with getting hubby's bike on the road, getting settled back into the routine of every day. Hope we're all doing well. We're all fab - oh and I went to the hospital on Saturday about my ear and I've been told I will have to wait another few weeks and then I'll get my gromet in! so should be able to hear before my new job starts too! I'm so giddy! :happydance:

Aimee so glad to see everything starting to work out, sounds like an ideal job congratulations.

Just been to the dentists today to sort my teeth after all the pregnancy vomiting, bit gutted need one tooth out (the crown snapped off)

The kids had fun today they painted a picture together. I'm loving finger paints and they wash off everything.

Congratualtions Aimee! Really pleased for you  :flower:

Fraggles: Shame about the tooth :hugs: The boys painting together sounds really cute!

Oops - was up late today, at least I can say I sleep well after training, although Chloe woke up again at 5am again today, she seems to be in a habit of waking up around 5 and crying. I normally get up and bring her into bed for an hour but I left her about 30secs more than I normally would before going in to see her and I heard her settling down again so I really am unsure what is up with her! Peppa has currently been relegated to second best and Thomas the Tank is currently her choice . . . although I think if we did put Peppa on she would go mental for that again :haha: It's really cute as she says 'Thomas' and 'Toby' all the time now, although I think its more because of her friend Thomas at nursery, and I am wondering if there is also a Toby, but she certainly knows which engines they are when she sees them anyways!

Not many weekend plans, need to have a peek on the web today at some point to figure out what's going on in the area. There is a 'totally locally' market on Sat but last time we went it was cupcake stall, soap stall, cupcake stall, cupcake stall, curry stall, oh and cupcake stall. . . . so erm yeah, it may not enterntain us all day long lol!

Happy Saturday girls. Have had a bit of a hellish week tbh. Got bitten by a patient on Monday so spent ages in Minor Injuries getting the wound irrigated and dressed etc. Then had to go to the GP for antibiotics and a tetanus shot cos I'm allergic to the antibiotics they normally prescribe. So Tuesday I was aching head to toe and put it down to the tetanus....aparantly not so! Felt awful when I got home from work so ended up phoning in sick for work Wednesday morning. Went to bed Tuesday night and barely slept. Tossed and turned all night feeling feverish and just plain awful. Went to the drs Wednesday morning and it turns out the trauma of the bite made my immune system take a bit of a dive and I'd gotten a flu virus. So I've been off for the rest of this week recovering from that. Feeling a whole lot better today than I have been so looks like I've beaten it. And to add to the fun....I have a horrible feeling I may have been slightly caught out! Me and Rich DTD last week and umm....forgot the condom in the heat of the moment! Well it would seem he is super fertile cos I've been nauseous for the last 3 days, had awful reflux, sore boobs, peeing lots....argh! Holding out til tomorrow to test when I'm up with my friend tomorrow cos mum would go mental! I so cannot afford another baby right now. So fingers crossed for a BFN swiftly followed by AF girls!
