Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

aimee- congrats :flower:

LK- so sorry to hear you've been feeling sick. hopefully all of that extra "symptoms" are just from your immune system being low, and not a bfp!! :hugs: let us know how the testing goes.

things over here have been okay. thought we had milo on a "normal" sleeping schedule. but of course he managed to mess up his nap. he fell asleep for 10 minutes in the car on the way home from a baby shower. so he wouldnt fall asleep until 10pm (just a little bit ago). he's only gonna sleep for a few hours before waking up. last night he fell asleep at 11:30 and woke up at 5am :dohh: but he managed to fall back asleep shortly before 8am this morning.
my surgery is getting closer and i'm getting so nervous :? i'm just so scared to go to sleep and never wake up. i dont want my babies to miss me :( lol. i know i'll probably be fine. but that nervousness is there, seeing it'll be my first surgery.

almost 22 months and still happily ERFing :D

Love it! Missy is too. Her feet are only just touching the back of the seat her car seat fits in. Her car seat rear faces up until 40lbs (forward to 65) (she's 25lbs right now at 23 months) so I think she'll be this way until at least 4. She don't know any different either. The other day my friend had to come pick her up and her sons car seat FFs, apparently she sat there frozen and didn't move until the journey was over .. was like she didn't know what to do with her self lol

milo is 25 (maybe 26 lbs). so he has some time too. i believe his RFs until 45 lbs.

Morning all,

How was our weekends and extended weekends?

We went to the local market which was as predicted but it was still nice to get out. We then took Chloe to the National Media Museum in Bradford. I love going there, practically lived in there as a kid with my cousins! In one exhibition there is a screen you stand next to and a light flashes and you move back and there is an imprint of your shadow . . . Chloe loved it! She loved seeing her hands mostly. We hit another carboot as well, the one in the town has really kicked off now, it used to have about 5 tables but now the car park is packed out and can take 90 spaces. We have been sorting out the loft and stuck loads of things on ebay so what ever doesn't sell we will try and car boot. Although Chloe has ended up with many of my old toys :dohh: It's good they are being used . . . its just . . .the space! :haha: Had to take one of the cats to the vet on Sat too, cost us a pretty penny but he's worth it. He had a huge lump on his leg, the vet cut it and the amount of gunge that came flowing out - ick!! Amases me how gross stuff like that doesn't bother me as much as if it was coming from a person. After a jab of antibiotics and pain relief he is a much happier mog and no more limping and meowing in pain bless him. Although he isn't happy about being cooped up indoors but he has a few more days of that at least. Yesterday Chloe and I were home alone as Nij was back at work so we played, painted egg cups, made some jelly and just generally hung around the house and pottered together which was lovely.

Still having the 5am crying sessions, really can't figure out what it up. I though I had figured it out Sunday night but last night she was up crying again, only difference being her PJ's so I really do wonder if its to do with the cold if she loses her blankets in the middle of the night.

LK: Hope you don't get the BFP and its just becasue your body hasn't been feeling so great you have been having the symptoms :flower:

Ps: If anyone can help with my thread for my sis I would really appreciate it :flower: https://www.babyandbump.com/toddler-pre-school/720081-those-whos-toddler-used-have-colic-digestive-problems-baby.html#post12537842

they said everything went okay.i havent talked to the doctor yet, she'll be coming up tomorrow morning to check on me. they just took my vitals and said i was running a slight fever. but i'm not sure if that was because i had OH turn the heat up before he left earlier. i've gotten sick 3 times now. but only when i get up to use the bathroom. nothing to eat so far. just ice chips and i attempted some apple juice earlier. when milo came to see me, he walked into my room, looked at me and ran away crying :( haha. i think it's just because i was in the bed and stuff. he eventually lightened up and was running around my room and gave me kisses before he left. i didnt get any stitches. they used the glue. cant wait to be recovering at home!

Glad to hear it went well- I hope you are back home recovering comfortably and able to get lots of rest :flower:

milosmommy, :hugs: Hope everything went well. Get some rest if you can xx

MM ~ Glad it all went well ...

LK ~ Any sign of AF yet?

thanks ladies. i'm finally out of the hospital and feeling better since i'm not in that hospital bed! :dohh: i think a hospital just makes you feel sicker than you are. lol.

Hi ladies!

How you all doing?

Let me say........... September is my month now and wow, cant believe it is September today!!! I am still getting back aches on/off since Sunday and I went to hospital with the signs of early labour they say, back pains, BH every 5 mins and period cramps type and but now period cramps has died down! :( So, we will try to do DTD tonight, and i havent yet lost my mucus plug nor water.

So watch out this space!

Billy is now teething and has 2 already cut thru. Hes happy boy on Tues as he walked with me to Asda then taxi back. Fell sleep on my bump from abour 4pm with no naps and slept thru the night until 7am!

Not many things to say really as I wanted to try and get my baby boy out! LOL.... Any suggestions, Ladies?

Xxxx

Milo'sMummy: Glad you are back home and hope you start to feel much better soon :flower:

Nanaki: Happy due month! All those twinges etc sound good

Feeling really disheartened at the moment ladies. Loving my new hobby but trying to get a decent set of skates is ridiculous, I recommended a set at 135 quid but typically they only go up to size 7.5 and I am a size 8. I have bought trainers in desparation in the past like this and regretted it. Why do these things have to be so darn expensive? To make matters worse, Chloe really needs a toddler bed, I put her in the readybed last night and she finally, after two weeks, slept through again!!! I had found a bargain of a bed on ebay and was winning but they must of withdrawn it as I haven't won it and or lost it, the item has just vanised. :grr: It's depressing how much they cost as well. Our cooker has broken and we need a new one so now I can't make Chloe her birthday cake unless I microwave one, think I need to buy a ready made sponge or fruit cake and decorate it how I wanted to do one. I just feel bad spending all that money on me and a pair of skates but it was my graduation / birthday money and people have told me it is only for me and nothing else! I have no luck with purchasing things, practically all but one item I got from New Look on my voucher is of poor quality, I loved my bag so had to exchange but only for a different pattern, its okay but not what I had set out for. Plus, I would live a mini washing machine. It's all kind of depressing!

Big nephew is in for an op right now too, awaiting news from my Sis to see how he is.

Kte, :hugs: Sorry can't chat, but wanted to say I'm thinking of you xx

ok, haven't caught up with the thread yet, but just occurred to me I hadn't told you how the scan went and stuff :dohh:

the 20 week scan went fine and everything is normal, healthy, happy etc- pretty much growing spot on to how harry was (they gave me a print out of his growth based on all my measurements from last time round and a graph for all my measurements this time round to be plotted on- i was like oooooh, that's new!) so i guess another 6-7lbs baby? i dunno, but anyways, we also found out we're expecting a little girl, so one of each! :flower:

Gotta start going through the attic over the next month or so and figure out what we've got and what we need etc, and also find where i put the rest of my maternity clothes as i am quite literally ballooning now! i put on 5 lbs over the last week alone!

yay for ERF! it's so rare here in England and i often get asked why harry is facing 'backwards' lol. His seat ERF's to 39lbs and he's only 23 lbs (ish) so still got plenty of room. IO have to say, I'm kinda jealous by all the choice you get in the US with car seats though- and the colours, hehe :)

flora- aww. congrats on the girl! they are so much fun. and not saying i'm picking favorites, but little girls seem to be more fun :p :haha: i think it's just all the dressing up you get to do is whats so fun.
and yes, i've heard about the lack of choices over there :? one person said they have ugly carseats. lol. i dont think i've ever seen a carseat from across seas.

Kte- :hugs: Hope your nephew is okay too :flower:

Flora- Congrats on the pink bump- I agree that girls are lots of fun too (not that I'm biased, lol ).

On the ERF front, we had to flip Emma to FF when she hit 30lbs a while back (I actually held off til she was 31lbs just cause it was winter and I wanted to wait til the roads were better- our seat is rated RF to 30lbs in Canada but the same seat is rated RF to 35lbs in the US ). The ERF seats that fit in cars over here piss me off- not only is there this difference in rating between the US and Canada for identical seats but they are pretty much all designed for SUVs and minivans so all but 2 seats were too big for our tiny, compact sedan and they were both rated for 30lbs. I think that there might be a new model now that goes a bit higher that *might* fit in the backseat, but it hit the market long after we bought Emma's seat. Eek, that turned into a bit of a rant  Can you tell the issue of ERF/small cars/tall parents/big babies gets me going a bit?! ;)

Hope everyone is doing well- :hugs: to those that need them!

Afternoon all :flower:

Biggie nephew is fine, in a bit of pain from it all, but otherwise okay.

My friend at work is giving us her daughters old bed so we just need a mattress now which will certanly help, I'd rather fork out on that and a tin of paint to spruce the frame up (her daughter had customised it) than a whole new bed - she thinks she has the duvet and covers still too.

Just sold a load of stuff on ebay and think we ended up in a minus! Bloomin' typical lol.

Flora: Congratulations on the :pink:

Quite excited. Those of you who BF your babies may remember a 'fizzy' feeling in your boobs. I used to get it when I started to fill up, ready for an impending feed. Anyway, for the past couple of days I've been feeling that same sensation. I'm now feeling it almost constantly. I'm due on in a week's time, but I have not felt the fizzing since I stopped BF. I'm kinda thinking ... We shall see.

A bit annoyingly, I'm going out with some friends for dinner for my bday the night before AF is due, so I can't decide whether to have a couple of glasses of vino and not worry about things, or whether to abstain and pretend I don't feel well/on meds/some other reason to not drink alcohol.

ooooh good luck Colsy, no advise on the drinks as I dont tend to drink might as well be tee total :haha: Have a fab birthday too :)
