Any other bumpkins finding their babies are sleeping for shorter rather than longer periods during the day? Monty most definitely is, and I'd love to change this! Have put a post here https://www.babyandbump.com/baby-cl...ter-shorter-times-each-night.html#post3823792 Any thoughts?

You say day here but the thread topic is night?

As they start getting older they will start sleeping longer at night and less in the day. Now Autumn is sleeping 11 hrs a night, she'll get up about 7, nap at 930am till about 11am and then about 2pm till 4pm and then she'll be up until she goes to bed at 8pm.

Noah is now sleeping from 9-9.30 till 12 then has a feed and sleeps until 4-5am he then feeds again and sleeps until 8-9 but I stay up from 4-5 to get things done around the house.

Yep, you're right - I meant to say during the night. Ta, Chaos, for pointing this out- makes all the difference to the question!

This is the same routine (almost to the letter) as Earl apart from he has started to take a feed again at about 2.30 (thank you growth spurt! :dohh:)

Hi everyone,

Hope we're ok - We've just got back from the Dr's for our 6 week check (at 7 weeks lol)

I officially have a big baby lol. 13lb 5oz at 7weeks and 1 day (I think Emma may have him beat Kaites!) , 61cm long and 40cm head circumference. Everything is at least in the 91st centile but the Dr says he's pretty much on track to be a 6 footer! lol

I got signed off too....nothing wrong with me whatsoever and she didn't even shout at me for not waiting til I got a period to get myself on the pill (I took a HPT on Saturday it came up BFN so, as we've been good since our slip up, I just started to take my pill and we're still being good for the first pack. I couldn't wait for my period to come....I don't trust us! lol)

I'll write more later. Earl is VERY awake so i'm on clown-mummy duty! :dohh:

Hey ladies - I totally didn't notice this thread. Can I blame the whirlwind that has been the past two months?!

Hope everyone is getting on ok, and I will take the time to look through the posts later as little madam is awaiting feeding. xx

Afternoonall,

Chaos ~ I'm not sure what they put in her hungry baby food, it Cow and Gate and it mentions something about extra milk protein. I wouldn't know foir sure unless I checked all the different ingredients on the side! She was oroginally on Hipp Organic baby food but they don't do a hungry version yet, its not available until January 2010 sometime which isn't far away but I couldn't make her wait! Autumn looks so cute with Santa in your avatar!

Sam ~ defo like the new sig! :D

Aimee ~ great news about Earls hip  Glad the 6 week check went well. I got some pills from my check yesterday and I asked about when I should start taking them and she just said "from today" so I doubt you would have got in trouble, it's so hard to tell when AF has actually arrived!! Do they mention Earls weight to you at the docs? Chloe is now 11lb 12oz and in the 91st percentile, has he always been in the same percentile?

Chloe is on the wake up, she was asleep for hours, I have been on two walks with her, once to the docs and once to One Stop. I woke her at two to feed her as she hadn't woken since her feed at 10.30, more fool me, now she awake and seems to be hungry again! ARGH!

She has been sleeping like a dream lately, last night she went to sleep asleep at10pm then woke for a feed at around 4am! Then again at 7am.

Hope everyone is okay and their LO's are feeling better if they weren't before :hugs:

Afternoon ladies. We have had an ok day today. Had my flu jab and swine flu jabs yesterday so had a temp all night and feeling completely grotty. And James decided he needed feeding at 9.30pm, 1.30am and 5.45am. Couldn't get OH to wake up so ended up having to get up to him myself. Took some paracetamol and just got on with it. Went and had our photos done this morning and they were all so nice we ended up buying all bar 4 which cost us £350!!! Worth it though. Started feeling really rubbish again cos the paracetamol had worn off, and nearly fainted when I was changing James at Milton Keynes. Went to clinic straight from there and got him weighed and spoke to the HV. He weighs 10lb 7ozs which means he has dropped a smidge below the 9th centile but HV wasn't worried. They have said for us to try him on Cow and Gate Comfort cos it has reduced lactose. If it works then we can either carry on with that milk or we can go to the drs and get him put on a lactose free milk. Went straight to Tesco and bought some so we will see how he gets on with it.

Hope everyone else is well and all ready for christmas. 10 days to go!

Afternoon girls, well Noah is now 9lbs 4 1/2oz so that means he's between the 2nd and 9th percentile again, better than being on the 2nd I guess. He's too poorly for his jabs with this chest infection and the thrush is back too which will be harder to shift while on antibiotics. My poor little man I want to cry for him. I feel like im doing something wrong

Rachel is now on Aptamil comfort which is same as C&G. Touch wood she has been really good for the last week now so glad we did it. Screaming has gone from 4 hours solid in evenings to almost nothing! Hope you have similar success with James.
xx

Well he doesnt like the new milk. Screams when he tastes it. I've had to trick him into taking 2.5oz by making him sleepy and then giving it to him. Has taken an hour and a half. He refuses to take any more and has now gone to sleep in my arms. I'm at the end of my tether and just don't know what to do :(

LK :hugs: it must be so frustrating, I hope he takes to it, keep at it, it might just take him a bit to adjust. hope the next feed goes better.

Maffie :hugs: you aren't doing anything wrong, you just seem to have a lot thrown at you for some reason. You wouldnt let Noah go through it if you could help it so don't blame yourself. I hope he gets better soon :flower:

Good evening!

Hope everyone is well :) We've had a few busy days of shopping and xmas prep- we're hosting both mine and hubby's families and it's turning into a lot of work. I thought that it would be easier to stay home with the baby but I'm not so sure now. Today Emma finally got her 2 month jabs (skipped them last week due to her slight cold). She slept through them and has been super lethargic all afternoon- we had a nice cuddle and watched Love Actually. I'm sure we're in for a rough night since she's slept away the day!

Aimee-lou- Emma may have Earl beat by a pound for 7 weeks, but he's got her beat for length :) We asked the doctor today if we can expect her to plateau soon and the doctor said, "we'll see- it's all genetic".

Maffie- Poor Noah- I hope he is feeling better soon. That's rough that he needs to be on antibiotics while he has thrush. I think I read that as babies get bigger and their immune systems develop more, they are better able to fight off the yeast and aren't as prone to thrush so hopefully the end is in sight. Don't blame yourself- we have a mild case of thrush too and by the sounds of it, it's pretty common :hugs:

littlekitten- :hugs: to you and james- hope James gets used to the new formula and it eases his discomfort.

chaos- awesome photo of Autumn with Santa!

Sam76- cute pics of George! We place Emma in her crib (cot) with her feet at the bottom, like you described. She looked a little lost in it when she was really young, but is definitely filling it out nicely now :)

jo_79- hope the tooth is doing better and you aren't in too much pain.

colsy- Emma sleeps less during the day now that she usually sleeps through the night. She's pretty alert in the afternoon and evenings though and really only naps in the morning/early afternoon.

Anyway, hubby is having a snuggle with Emma now, so I better do some laundry before little Miss E wakes for a feed. Hope all the bumpkins have goodnights!

Kaites thank you, I know I shouldn't blame myself just been a hard few days. I hope Emma went through te night ok for you, these injections must seem a big deal to such little babies. :hugs: for Emma

Chaos love your avatar its adorable, looks like a film still.

Aimee glad the check up went well, good news about the hips.

LK I think if James needs the milk from the doctors you need to be assertive with them, im learning alot of doctors dont listen and blame symptoms on the easiest thing.

Jo how is the mouth and teeth doing? Hope they are better :hugs:

Well Noah had a feed at 8, 10.30 and 11.30 he finally settled at midnight and woke up at 4.30am so we've both managed some sleep. Ive had to take some more painkillers for headache but I think ive got that beat now. OH has been at work all night so im hoping when he's home and rested i'll get a little break. Bottling up boobie juice in the fridge so he can do a couple of feeds.

So far Noah's cough doesn't seem quite as bad this morning so im hopeful he's on the mend, he's wanting lots of cuddles at the moment but I dont blame him.

Morning Girls!!!

I'm glad to see you're still here, been so busy with OH family; MIL finally went home Saturday... SIL is now out of hospital, we hope she improves steadily...

Christmas is knocking on our door now, I'm so excited... My family are coming for Christmas day... MIL & SIL are coming for new year...

OH got the job he applied for last Monday, interviewed on Wednesday, got the job Friday... Suppose to start new job Monday next week... Down side is it's monthly wages!!! His last weekly wage is Christmas day, next wage will be February!!! I'm not sure how we'll manage... My birthday is on Sunday, my family are giving me cash; hopefully that will help... DS school dinners for Jan is £40, got half of it so far, at least if he has a hot meal at school, I can give him sandwiches or soup for tea... My sister got me 5 boxes of napisan so CC has her nappies, bf is going well so that (fingers crossed) is CC covered...

I know we'll manage but I'm not really sure how; but we will...

CC is growing well, still sleeps most of the morning, awake in the evening; sleeps most of the night now with a couple of feeds... I'm shattered but reasonably happy...

Hope all are well and looking forward to Christmas...

can someone help me? I'm new to this and are looking for some friends. Help?

Welcome....

We all have babies who were born in October 09 - so maybe an introduction fo you and your LO....

I'll start - My name's Aimee, my LO is Earl (although he's not very little! :-)

Hope you like BnB! :hugs:

Hi

Although I don't post often I have been a bumpkin from the beginning and keep promising myself I will start getting involved more but somehow never do!

Like a lot of you I have a rather big baby too. Phoebe was born on 14 October weighing 9lb 12oz by emergency c section following 40 hour labour. She is 9 weeks today - where is the time going - and at 8 weeks weighed 13lb 2oz! I am breastfeeding her so is good to know I am feeding her enough although until 10 days or so ago she was also having a bottle of formula in an evening to give me a break and so daddy can have some time with her but she then decided she didn't wanted to enterain a bottle anymore. I really miss the break it used to give me but daddy still does bath duty and takes her out for a walk when he gets home from work so I can have a bath!

Phoebe had her 8 week check and jabs on Monday and got a clean bill of health but she really screamed during and after the jabs. I felt so awful and had to fight back tears seeing her so upset but is obvioulsy better than her getting the nasty diseases the jabs protect her from!

We don't really have a routine sorted as such but Phoebe seems to be making her own routine which works for us with her being asleep about 9pm and waking at around 2am for a feed. Usually an hour before she is asleep again and will than sleep till 6 - 6.30am and will then sleep again to 8.30ish so I quite happy with that! She will also nap in the morning as she gets tired an hour and a half to two hours after she wakes but no real routine re afternoon but I can live with that and enjoy the opportunity to play with her as she is really responsive now and just a delight to be with!

Is strange because I feel I know you regular posters - and your babies - but you don 't know me but hopefully I will now try and post more often!

Morning ladies,

Well I feel bit more human now lol...... Earl had an unsettled night. He woke at 11 and 3 and then 6.30 and finished 6 oz bottles each time. He'd been finishing them all day at 2-3 hour intervals so I offered him 7oz just now and he nearly finshed that and has now passed out! First time he's done that in a couple of days! I'm hoping that the extra food will help him get back on track with his sleep (last 2 nights have been the same but before that he was sleeping 7-3 minimum) - I guess we will see.

Nice to see some more Bumpkins joining in. :happydance:

Cannot wait til Christmas now!! 9 days - single figures. I've got to make a shopping list as we're doing our Christmas shopping on sunday I think! Got a turkey and ham on order for Chritmas Eve collection from the butchers. Hubby wants to go and start tradition by taking Earl too....nice idea actually of taking 'the kids' for opening at 7am, they get so excited then they'll have to go to bed nice and early on Christmas eve, and because they'd been up all that time, they might actually risk sleeping lol. Remains to be seen if it will happen lol. :dohh:

Anyhoo - postie has just left the very last pressie so best get it wrapped. Have a good day everyone xx

Morning girls. Hope everyone had a good night. James has finally decided he will take his milk. Have had to mix it in with the Aptamil and we are now up to 2 scoops of Aptamil and 3 scoops of Cow and Gate. Going to try him on 1 Aptamil and 4 Cow and Gate at his next feed. Even though he is still having some Aptamil he is already happier so I think the lower lactose is working. He has already started eating more. Had 4.5oz at 1.30am so that was brill!

Ellas_momma - hi and welcome.

Bingers - Welcome back hunni. Wow Phoebe is doing well. James is only 10lbs 7. Where abouts are you from hun?
