Louisandcoco, bingers & Ella's_momma - :hi:

Eswift- hope your SIL is getting better. That's good that she's out of the hospital before xmas.

LK- that's great news that James is finally settling on the new formula! I'm letting excited about xmas too but a little concerned at how much work needs to be done next week before our guests arrive- I have let the housework slide a bit since Emma was born and am embarassed to let my in-laws see the house the way it is now. Hubby has offered to do the cleaning but he is somewhat unreliable at getting cleaning done :) Enjoy being pampered by your family! Sounds like you have a lovely xmas planned.

Flora- I wouldn't be so envious of Emma and Earl's size- I think Aimee would agree that keeping up with clothing these babies is a challenge :) Seems I have to put away another lot of sleepers every week and dig out new ones that I thought I'd be saving for next spring. As long as Harry is happy and healthy, I wouldn't worry about how he compares. I wish that Emma had been smaller for longer- she's easily the size of a 4 month old now. Glad to hear everything is ok with Caleb. Oh yeah, and we've definitely got snow here :) We're all set up for a white christmas after our 2 snowstorms last week!

Aimee- I'll trade you xmas plans :haha:

Not much new here- bloody cold outside at -15 today so we are hibernating at the moment :) Went to the mall yesterday and there wasn't a line-up for Santa so we took the opportunity to get Emma's photo done with him. She didn't cry, but she didn't look terribly impressed either! Anyway, hope everyone is having a good day! :hugs:

Kaites - I do agree on the size thing. He is the size that an 'average' baby should be at 3-4 months (double birth weight etc) and consequently I too am constantly packing away clothes. I think Earl may have started to slow up but having said that Hubby just put him into a mothercare 3-6 month which last week had plenty of stretch in it, and now appears to be a 'perfect fit' - in other words, I'll be lucky if it fits him next week! :dohh: I also wish he had been a little smaller for longer as my back is constantly aching after holding him and I pulled my shoulder lifting him out of his cot this afternoon - probably my fault with posture etc but I'm only little.....dread to think what he'll be like at 18 months, but I'm sure I'll get used to it! lol

Flora - as long as Harry is happy then it's obviously right for him. He probably has a high metabolism and will be one of these lucky people who can eat ANYTHING and not gain an oz when he's older!!

Evenin' all

Wow, didn't do much yesterday, Chloe wouldnt be put down bless her. Had my best friend come over for a good natter. Didnt get Chloe down until 10pm but she slept until 5am! Then until 8am, I couldn't believe it. She was so giggily and smiley this morning too :cloud9: Had OH's parents over this evening so I spent most of the day struggling to sort Chloe and make the house presentable. Somthing about the 'MIL' coming over that puts me on clean overdrive!

OH's day off tomorrow, last one before Christmas and I am off on my works Christmas lunch so it will be nice to catch up with everyone too.

I have my cousin coming on Sat with her little boy Lucas, he was born on 25th Oct so it will be nice to catch up and have Chloe to meet a baby close to her age :)

I think the worry with the HV and the docs with Chloe is that her weight hasn't stayed on the same centile at all, she is on the 91st now, she started on the 21st and has jump a up a curve each time she has been weighed.

Ellasmomma ~ Hi

Bingers ~ Good to hear Phoebe is doing so well :D

LK~ Glad James is feeling much better on the new food :flower:

Kaites~ Glad Emma didn't kick up a fuss with Santa!

Well I thought I would be a saddo and get a pic of Chloe in her '1st snow' lol It rarely snows where we live, its like backwards land, every surrounding town / city can be covered but not this little town! She looks like she is thinking 'Mum, its freezing out here, are you mad!' I got her in her red riding coat, ran out, OH took the snap and we darted back in!! He wanted to faff about with the exposure to get a nice arty shot but there was no chance, I wasn't hanging about!

Well I must say, after having been up at 2am to feed James and seeing hardly any snow, it was a bit of a shock to get up at 7.15am and look out my kitchen window to see a couple of inches! Had to go get OH up so he could start going to work cos in this weather it could take up to 2 hours! Its almost all country lanes. Personally I think his boss is a bit of an idiot but he wont get paid if he doesnt go in. If it snows any more he wont be getting home! He has taken my mobile with him so he can let me know when he gets there. He has already been about 40 minutes so I'm waiting for the call now. If I don't get a call by 9am I will phone work and see if anyone has got there yet as one of the chefs should have been there at 7am.

Argh. works Christmas do today and its still snowing where I live. Apparently its not snowing at work but the actual place we are going to is up on the hills. Not sure what to do, I haven't actually driven my car since before Chloe was born so I'm a little unsure. I know the main roads will be okay but my road is covered and so I am guessing last nights snow will be frozen underneath. Plus whats it like up on the hills?!? Half of me wants to go and the other really can't be bothered now!

Well OH finally got to work after getting stuck, having to abandon the car at one of the local farms and get his boss to pick him up in his 4x4! Not sure how the hell he is going to get home, especially if, as promised, we get more snow!

Took James out for 2 firsts, first time with his pram as a buggy, and first time in the snow. He wasn't terribly impressed lol. Got some photos though so once I've given mr grumble his bottle I will put them on.

I want to take Earl out as I have to post the christmas cards but Hubby has the pram in his car :dohh: Guess it will have to wait until he gets home....whenever that is! It's really snowing here now! Hope he can get home!

Ok so here are some pics of James's first time in his pushchair, and his first time out in the snow.

Little kitten there fab pics!!! not a drop of snow here though!!!! Enjoy it

Im not enjoying it right now! OH just text to say he most likely won't be able to get home tonight :( He is snowed in at work.

kte & LK- Cute pics of Chloe and James in the snow- LK, I hope your OH makes it home ok!

I finally downloaded our more recent pics to the computer. Here are a few taken in the snow last week :) First one is in front of the mini-mountain of snow in our cul-de-sac, second is Emma making spit bubbles in the cold (gross, but she always does this in cold air), and third one is in our driveway. We have lots more snow now though.

Kaites ~ cute pic's of Emma, she looks nice and cosy, wonder why she blows bubbles in the cold?!? Now that is snow lol!

LK ~ sorry to hear you OH is stuck, hope he gets home safely & soon

Well I made it to the work lunch. It stopped snowing here so I decided to go, only mishap I almost had was on the next street, road was icy and nearly slid into a parked car :dohh: but all was okay in the end, it was nice to see everyone and OH got some quality time with Chloe :D

Kaites - James blows spit bubbles in the cold air too. Not a clue why!

OH is going to try to get home tonight. He said if I get up to do his 2am feed and hes not home then to lock the door. Dopy git has forgotten his key so won't be able to get in if I lock the door.

wow, loving the snow pics!!! we hardly ever get snow here... i was moaning all week about it and then overnight it snowed!!! a whole 2cm.... wohoo!
i stayed up last night to finish making my wedding invites & put the tree up (not bothering with any other decorations tho) while harry & oh were asleep, so that's made me feel more accomplished. now i just need to start packing up boxes ready for the move :dohh: we get the keys on monday, but we're paid up till jan 4th in our flat, so we're gonna use the cross over time to replaster & paint before we move in properly, but i'm excited all the same!

had a bath with harry this evening for the 1st time (with me in it too, not his 1st bath ever, lol) - he loved it & we stayed in for nearly an hour... i dunked him under & he wasnt bothered at all, so now i cant wait to take him swimming!

how's everyone else doing?

Morning all, far far too early but if I stay in bed my brain just focuses on the pain. I still have the same toilet issue as 4 weeks ago   I'm really really at the end of my teather with it but there is not exactly anything more I can do. I have lactulos (sp) and some cream from the docs to help. I'm just sore all the time, it even hurts to fart! Sorry TMI! My diet gets better then I think I am okay and eat some stuff that I should realise I need to stay away from for good, looks like I have to face facts and realise its a whole new diet for the rest of my life as I can't cope with this all the time. Bang goes my Christmas binge, I wasn't bothered about missing out on foods whilst pregnant as I kept saying "its okay, I can have what I want at Christmas" and was planning to really enjoy it, but hey ho not going to happen :dohh: Be good for the waistline tho I suppose :haha:

I took paracetamol at 12 then ibuporine (sp) at 2. Chloe is in her moses basket upstairs and I have the monitors on. She doesn't half chunter away at night, I never noticed! I usually wake up when she is ready for a feed but I thought she was quiet the rest of the time! OH said she had been waking him up on the hour every hour with the noises, I guess me crying at 12 didn't help either, he wasn't in the best of moods when he slumped off to work at 1.30 poor guy. She woke up to feed at 1 and was beaming away at him but he wasn't having any of it poor little girl, she obviously enjoyed daddy-daughter time and wanted some more!

Supposed to have my cousin coming today, weather pending. I guess should be more productive and make use of this time but, nah, I'm tired . The only thing that really needs doing is washing and its too much like hard work right now!

Flora ~ love the pics of Harry :D I'd love to have Chloe in the bath with me but I love the water really hot, I get cold so easliy. Maybe I can get OH to bring her in when the water has cooled down sometime. Hope the move isn't too stressful, its good you have the flat so there isn't too much of a mad rush. I remember when I bought this house and just got the keys, I just sat in what is now my bed room completely amazed that it was my very own house, it was such a weird but good feeling!

Kte ~ I can't remember if it was you who was allergic to witch hazel? If not, get some witch hazel pads and put them on the sore part .. it really helped when I had that.

I know that it seems like it won't end, but it will, one day it will just stop. I get flair ups of it every now and then that last a couple days.

Before you try and do a #2, try sitting in a warm bath for a couple minutes just to help relax things there a lil bit. Its called a "Sitz baths" .. its what they tell you to do to help heal when you've had your foo foo cut to get the baby out. The warm water promotes healing. Put a dab of epsom salts in the water too, its excellent for reducing inflammation.

:hugs:

Loving the pictures of everyone enjoying the snow! Phoebe has not really been out in it as I was too much of a scaredy cat to take her out yesterday though her dad did take her for a walk when he got home to calm her down after trying to give her a bottle. She really is not keen to take a bottle even though she was fine with it until two weeks or so ago!

LittleKitten - how was James in his pushchair? What pushchair have you got? We still using the pram bit on our all singing and dancing travel system thing though we also have a pushchair that lays flat which I use most of the time as much easier for me. Did your OH make it home last night?

Florabean - bet you are really excited about your move. Definitely good that you can get the new place sorted before moving in.

Kte - hope you feeling a bit better now.

Aimee-Loe - northern meet up would be good. Will check how we fixed in new year and reply to your post re this when I know!

Well still lots of snow - and ice - here today so not sure we'll make it out again! My OH is working till 4ish so just hope he gets home ok as more snow forecast tonight. He working tomorrow too so hope is either hardly any snow in the monring or so much that he can't even try to get to work. I hate it when you get the inbetween amount which means you have to at least try to get to work which won't be fun for him at 4.30am.

Phoebe looks to be getting bored of her play gym now so guess it is time for me to change into a childrens entertainer before trying to get her down for a nap in half an hour or so.

Have a good day x

Morning ladies,

Kte- I hope you're feeling better this morning. :hugs:

Kaites - What lovely pictures. Earl blows bubbles like that ALL the time. I mean it, constantly. It's not pleasant! lol

Bingers - no worries. As soon as you know, pop something on there and we WILL get it organised.

I really need to bring my Pram in out of the car to convert it but I think Earl will be warmer in it as a Pram today so I'll have to fold him up as he only just fits head to toe. Bingers....I have a Silver Cross 3D travel system and mine lays flat so I'll be doing that from now I on reckon.

Well it's now officially christmas week for us. I'm hoping to get out to do the last of the shopping this afternoon then we can hole ourselves up apart from collecting the turkey....oh and going to visit my mother on Wednesday but if the weather stays as is I will NOT be going (she lives about an hour away and by all accounts the weather is worse near her in Bradford than by me in York!)

Our snowfall seems to have stopped. We're used to it being cold and icy but this is ridiculous! Hubby said the thermometer in his car registered -10 this morning at 6am!! I came off the road on black ice 3 years ago and I'm still a bit nrevous so I'm hoping to be home before about 5pm as after that, the ice really comes in where we are - I live on the Wolds which are hellishly exposed and ALWAYS get much colder than anywhere else round here....on the plus side we don't get floods, or really bad winds as the hills shelter us so Yay!! :happydance:)

I don't know if any of your have seen but I trialed Earl on some hungry baby milk last night in his bedtime bottle (5oz of normal, 2oz of hungry) and he was a different baby! Aside from taking a bit longer to settle than usual (he's been getting worse lately - I think it's to do with being hungry all the time!) he slept for a full 6 hours plus (woke at just after 2) and was back to being his happy self. That's the longest he's slept in a long time! However, I gave him just first stage at the night feed and he woke at 6.30 screaming with hunger and so cranky. I'm going to go and get him some hungry baby today and put him onto half and half as the difference was astonishing and it was like having him back....I never quite realised how different he was acting this past week or so. Poor little thing....I feel so bad now but I'm working on making him feel better. He's 8 weeks on Monday so a couple of days of just 2-3 half feeds a day shouldn't make too much of a difference. I want to gradually build him up to it as I know the shock of it can hurt their tummies and cause constipation.

Anyhoo, I'm off to make my shopping list and do a few jobs before getting Earl changed and ready to go out. hubby should be home at 2.30 so I have 2 hours to get into town (10 mins drive) 5 shops to visit and then home in time for tea! oooh I do love a challenge!

Have a good day ladies xx

Thanks all, got to bed and 5 and surprisingly feel okay! Although I am being a big chicken at the moment and all I have eaten in Clementines! Lol

Waiting for my cousin, not heard from her but I presume she is still coming! lol She said between 10-11 so there is still time. Chloe is being entertained by her swing chair at the moment, she keeps dozing off then waking up. Its great as it plays tunes, swings and has flashing lights. She been on it a while now so I am awaiting a boredome cry and mo, especially since I have a cuppa!

Kte ~ I can't remember if it was you who was allergic to witch hazel? If not, get some witch hazel pads and put them on the sore part .. it really helped when I had that.

:hugs:

Thanks Chaos, nope I'm not allergic (I don't think!) so I will defo give it a try. They never told me that and I had a cut too!

Bingers ~ I have a Silver Cross 3D travel system too but Chloe usually sleeps when out so I will keep her in the pram bit until she can't fit anymore lol.

Aimee ~ yep, I am near Bradford and OH's parents are from there. It took them ages to get home the other night because of the snow. Not sure what its like there at the mo though, its all icy here but there are blue skys and a nice winter sun that is trying to melt the ice away, very slowly! GLad to hear that the hungry baby food has helped Earl too and he got some nice beauty sleep :D
