Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

Oh I forgot to add a couple of fun bits for christmas earlier... Portable north pole & norad are a couple of fun websites for kids at christmas...

It's my b'day today, had a full day yesterday... Chinese for lunch and panto last night, spent most of today doing very little CC sleeps most of the morning, wanting feeding early afternoon and sleeps some more to wake up for a feed about 5 ish and is awake for the evening until somewhere between 10 and 1.30 ish... So we're all still a little groggy at the moment; I can't beleive she's 8 weeks on Tuesday... Where has all the time gone???

Still we've got a house full for Christmas, and I'm so looking forward to it all...... Been and done a few real christmasy bits this year, as I was finding it so hard to get into the spirit of things... Carol concert, nativity, panto and shopping... Evening opening and sharing a few bottles of wine have help relax us all... Stress, worry and finances seem to have taken the excitement away... Not now though, just need to get OH roped in to do what we can, in the time we have in the house...

Happy birthday eswift .....I go on NORAD (address below for the girls who don't know it!)....I'm a bit kid at christmas and I have it on the computer all day christmas eve (from 12 obviously) to stop hubby from going on it too much lol) It's great!!!!

Happy Birthday eswift! Hope you had a lovely day & your family spoiled you :)

Good Morning Girls!

CC & I are home alone... CC has a touch of cold... Aww bless she sounds so snuffly, poor thing; she's sound asleep... DS has gone with OH, I could have swung for him by bed time; little sod is just so full of himself... This morning I was getting breakfast for them all, (in my dressing gown) DS thought it was productive for him to tell me what time I had to get dressed and what I should be doing today! Didn't go down well... When I asked him how old I was, 31 he replied... Hmmm not sure I like that... LOL was rather taken back by how I felt when he said that... Bloody hormones!?!?!

So much for a warm spell... LOL we've had snow over night and guess what, yep; it's snowing... brrrr... Just no pleasing some people...

I gonna take CC to the clinic tomorrow, she's 8 weeks then; gonna do all the bits, it'll be nice to see how she's changed in the 8 weeks... She's so chunky... LOL A mate was taking the micky as I'm forever calling her chunky; she said she could just see CC dressed in a wedding dress being a size 8 and have OH say come on chunky as they get ready to walk down the church... LOL

Right best go get sleeping beauty dressed as she stirring... Take care Girls... Oh, thanks for the birthday wishes. xxxx

Hope you had a lovely birthday Emily....31 is my next one too *gulp*

Morning ladies well Noah has finished his antibiotics and his cold and cough is much better than it was. I just hope I dint give him it again I cant seem to shake mine off. Going to have to see the doctors and get some advice I think.

Noah did well on the sleep front too asleep by 12.30 and woke at 6.30, he had a good feed and went back to sleep after a little while and is still snoring his little head off. He's so cute when he stretches when half awake half asleep makes me want to eat him up, will have to get some videos on here to share.

My boiler is broke keeps losing all its pressure so makes it chilly if the pressure goes while out or while asleep. Thankfully plumber is coming tomorrow. Why is it landlords are so unhelpful when something goes wrong, they are always happy to take your money. :growlmad::grr:

Maffie - I hope that your boiler is fixed soon. We've had temperatures of -10 on some days this week so I really feel for you with no heating. Earl and I are holed up in the living room with the radiator on and a window open....odd but it seems to be keeping everyone warm but comfy lol. Hubby is bringing home logs so we can have a proper fire! :)

How are we all this morning. Earl has a routine back - 4am wake up (hubby had to leave at 5am so it really wasn't a night feed lol) then back in bed til 7. He's having a bit of a sleepy day but had a bit of time watching his favourite person on TV - Eamon Holmes. If Earl hears his voice his eyes go really wide and he turns his head to look at the TV......He doesn't even do that when I talk lol. I only let him watch for 5 minutes but it makes his quiet so I can eat breakfast lol.

I am back on ebay girls. All the shopping is done for Christmas so I went on to look for clothes for Earl, for me, all sorts really. I managed to get a Bumbo for less than £12 including postage! It may be wishful thinking that it will arrive next week but I hope it gets here sooner rather than later as Earl will no longer sit in his car seat as it's too reclined and he likes to see so I have no-where to put him when I'm in the kitchen lol. I know he can only go in for a few minutes to start with, but at least it's somewhere to put him when I'm making lunch or bottles. He loves to sit up - hubby has taken to propping him up on the sofa and Earl will happily sit there for about 20 minutes playing with his hands.

Today, Earl is 8 weeks old, and he is wearing his brand new pyjamas that granny bought for him. I don't know why but they're just too nice to resign to nightwear and lets face it, no-one will see him bar me and hubby lol. I also went to the charity shop on Saturday and got loads of clothes for him. Got:

2 x track suit bottoms - size 6-9m
1 x fleece baby grow - size 3-6m
1 pyjama set - size 6-9m
1 pair of jeans - size 12-18m
1 x t-shirt - size 12-18m

All for £6!! I need to get some 9-12m clothes but I'm loathe to buy any more til we see what Santa brings. Relatives are on order to buy 6-9 or above lol.

Anyhoo, that's turned into essay lol - I'm trying to get some more housework done today ready for Christmas. Washing is on, kitchen is tidy, beds are stripped......woohoo! I SHALL have a tidy house by Wednesday afternoon! lol

Have a good day ladies xx :hugs:

British Gas came out on emergency as I had a new baby :happydance: Been fixed for now but they think it will need major work after Christmas. Im moving out by then though!

we had our post natal check-up today (at almost 11weeks, lol) & everything is absolutely spiffing, hehe. The Dr was really pleased with Harry & said he was incredibly alert & smiley for his age, so that was nice to hear. He wasn't too impressed when she was doing his hips, but cheered up again when she tickled his tummy. (I love our Dr, kinda gutted wont see her anymore as when we move, we have to get another surgery). She was happy that I dont have pnd signs & my bp isn't considered low anymore! (i've had low bp since I was 14, so that was cool to know I'm 'normal' now at 28, lol) Whehn they measured him, he's grown 4cm in 2 weeks!!! He's now 58cm long, 38.5cm head & 9lbs 13oz weight. She he's basically in the 9th centile for everything except weight where he's up the upper end of 0.4th & lower end of 2nd centile- she too said he's doing just fine & not to worry or compare him to any other babies.
I am now a less stressy mummy, hehe. :)

We picked up the keys for our new house today!!! G6t totally soaked in the process :dohh: Am meeting oh there tonight aftre he finishes work so we can write a big list of everything we need to do or buy, then we can start decorating & we oficially move in on 4th jan. I cant wait! I feel like a little excited kiddy!!!! :happydance:

Anybody else struggling with theirs?

Sorry for silence over past few days. Been manic here! All good stuff though. Plus my mum's been up, which has been fab as she cleaned half the house and did loads with Monty :) xx

Afternoon girls. We have yet more snow here. Not looking hopeful for me getting home for christmas. But my brother is going to try to get up tomorrow to fetch us down a couple days early. Took James out in the snow and he was not terribly impressed by the flakes falling on him. So we have left the boys out in the snow building a snowman (we stayed at a friends house last night) while we are in the warm cooking dinner. The doctor is not coming in to do the early morning surgery tomorrow because we are meant to get heavy snow tonight so she has cancelled James's appointment. We have another one on the 31st. But she did say over the phone to keep him on this milk as its obviously working for him, and that she will send a letter to the paediatrician about his milk intolerance and his weakness. So we should now get an urgent appointment for soon after the new year. And they should also have a paediatric dietician there to talk through the lactose intolerance with us. So thats good. Hope everyone is having a good day!

Evening all,

Maffie ~ glad to hear you got the boiler sorted!

LK ~ glad to see the doc is now listening to you about James' milk and that you should get seen soon for that and his movements too.

Aimee ~ if those are Earls PJs in your facebook pic they are lovely! Obviously Earl is goregeous too!

Chloe seems to b feeding funny today and usually being sick after. I have no clothes left, well 1 pair of tracky bottoms but I desperatly need to get some washing in, my washer is outside and the pipies are frozen :nope: Need to get some hot water on them tomorrow and wash her sick away poor little girl. I think its because we have been out and about all day plus last night / this morning she ate at 9.30pm, 4.30am then 9.00am! I couldn't believe the time when I woke so I am sure that is what has upset her. Typical i was expecting her to wake for her 7.30 feed so i could get up and get ready to go out for 10 then she wakes at 9!!

Morning girls hope were all well, well im soooooooo Pleased, George has been sleeping through the last week from 10.30 till about 5.30. but this morning he slept till 7.30!!!! im so pleased i really had a good night sleep and feel great today!!!!! hope everyone else is well xxxxxxxxxxxx

yay for george!!! bet you must feel ace with all the extra sleep!

James only slept through on the 1 night. Think he is having a delayed growth spurt lol cos hes started taking 5.5oz at some feeds. Last night he had 5.5oz at 5pm, 5oz at 9.30pm, 4.5oz at 3am, 4oz at 6am, and feeding with daddy since 10am. Being a little piglet lol.

Well we are snowed in. Had about another 6 inches of snow last night so OH cant get to work which means we have him to ourselves until Thursday. He had a day off yesterday and then his boss phoned last night and said not to bother trying to get in cos he barely made it in his 4x4. And he has another day off tomorrow yay. So we are having some family time before I go to Bristol and OH has to go back to work lol. Its supposed to have pretty much gone here by Thursday.
